Oil Booster and C Booster

I will admit that I am a huge fan of the skincare products from Paula’s Choice since I started using some of their products in September 2014. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin, so I have to test everything on my arm before putting it on my face. And, I have to test each new product separately so that if I do take a reaction, that I am able to pinpoint exactly which product is causing the reaction. I really love that you have the option of ordering trial sizes of their products, because not every product will work for your own unique skin type.

First up is the Resist Moisture Renewal Oil Booster. It can be used alone, mixed with with your moisturizer, or even mixed with your foundation. I don’t wear liquid foundation, so I haven’t tried that option.

Here is the description from the website:

This unique blend of nine gentle, non-fragrant, antioxidant-packed plant oils brings soothing, moisture-rich relief to dull, dry skin. See a youthful glow return as essential fatty acids repair skin’s barrier to restore softness and elasticity while calming irritated skin. The non-greasy and elegantly-light texture absorbs quickly for all-day comfort and lasting smoothness.

As always, here’s the ingredient list (with explanation of the properties):

Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil (all non-fragrant, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant-rich plant oils), Ceramide 2, Cholesterol (skin-repairing ingredients).

My skin is still recovering from winter dryness, so I thought that this would be a great one to try. I’ve been mixing a few drops of it with my moisturizer in the mornings, and it really does make my skin feel hydrated but not greasy, and the texture does seem to be smoother / softer. I’ve been using my trial sized vial for almost a month, and I plan on purchasing the full size version. The trial size is 3.5ml (0.12oz) for $15 USD, and the full size is 20ml (0.67oz) for $35 USD.

Next, is the Resist C15 Super Booster. It can be used with your serums or mixed with your moisturizer. I decided to try this after reading that vitamin C works really well in conjunction with retinol.

Here is the description from the website:

Resist C15 Super Booster is a concentrated, light-as-water liquid treatment product designed to supercharge your Paula’s Choice serum, or it may be used alone. A blend of 15% stabilized vitamin C (l-ascorbic acid) at a pH of 3.0, antioxidant vitamin E, ferulic acid, and peptides repairs visible signs of aging and stimulates collagen production for smoother, brighter, and firmer skin.

Vitamin C also helps protect skin from environmental damage as it evens your skin tone. You’ll see dramatically younger, healthier, and more radiant skin in weeks!

As always, here’s the ingredient list (with explanation of the properties):

Water, Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C/antioxidant), Ethoxydiglycol (slip agent/penetration enhancer), PPG-26 Buteth-26 (emulsifier), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (thickener), Tocopherol (vitamin E/antioxidant), Ferulic Acid (antioxidant), Sodium Hyaluronate (skin-repairing ingredient), Acetyl Octapeptide-3 (cell-communicating ingredient), Glycerin (skin-repairing ingredient), Panthenol (skin conditioning agent), Sodium Metabisulfite (stabilizer/antioxidant), Triethanolamine (pH adjuster), Phenoxyethanol (preservative).

I’ve been using this at night, mixing a few drops in with my retinol serum, before apply moisturizer. My skin appears to be less dull looking, and the texture is smoother. I’ve been using my trial sized vial for almost a month, and I will most likely purchase the full sized version. The trial size is 3.5ml (0.12oz) for $ 20USD, and the full size is 20ml (0.67oz) for $48 USD.

Disclosure: Both products were purchased by me, and my opinions are based on my experience with the products.

  1. AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH! I have been wanting to try both of these!! Also I just read htat PC is coming out with a Hyaluronic Acid serum so I am full of excitement! So glad PC works for you — you know how much I love it! I’d also recommend their youtube channel — and if you ask them questions there, they do answer you back. I asked if they could do a video on Rosacea and they said they will work on one. *fangirling*
