Hi there!
If I haven’t said it before, I’m super pale, so most blushes are way too dark for me. There are only three blushes in my make-up collection, two from Tarte, and one from Milani. Tarte is certified cruelty-free by PETA, and Milani is certified by both PETA and Leaping Bunny.
On the Tarte website, they describe their Amazonian Clay Blush:
Product Performance: This 12-hour blush universally benefits all skin types for a fade-free, flawless finish in shades ranging from soft to vivid and matte to shimmer to suit a wide variety of skin tones.
Powered By: Amazonian clay minimizes oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place while also hydrating the skin naturally to restore moisture, reducing the appearance of dry, flaky skin.
I find both the of Tarte blushes to be quite pigmented, and the color is buildable, with a hint of shimmer in them. I find that the color really is long-lasting, and because I’m pale, I have to be careful not to over-do it when applying. The Tarte blushes are a little pricy at $34 (USD) each, but they have a nice range of shades and finishes (both matte and shimmery). You can buy Tarte at Sephora, or directly from the Tarte website.
On the Milani website, they describe their Rose Powder Blush:
Now this is a blush that deserves to be seen! Gorgeous in the compact, even prettier on cheeks, this petal soft, natural-finish powder shapes, contours and highlights. Streaks? Never. Easy to use? Always. In ultra-flattering shades that you just can’t live without.
The Milani Rose Powder blush, with its embossed rose shape, really is beautiful looking, and I found the application to be soft and smooth and the color works well for me. I don’t find it to be as pigmented as the Tarte blushes, so I don’t have to be as careful in applying it. Pricing in at $7.99 (USD), this is a great blush for those on a budget, but the shade selection is limited to three. You can buy Milani on the Milani website, as well there is a store locator. Here in Canada, I’ve only found a limited selection on Well.ca. If someone finds other Canadian sources to find Milani, please do let me know! 🙂
Here’s a side by side comparison of all three blushes. Tarte’s Blissful is described as a warm peach, and Dollface described as a light pink, and Milani’s Romantic Rose is described as a warm pink.
I would describe Dollface as a light, Blissful as a bright warm peach, and Romantic Rose as a warm peachy pink, because on my skin it leans somewhere in between peach and pink.
What are you favorite blushes?
Tarte Blissful is too pretty! I think the ones from The Balm and NYX are gorgeous too! =)

I haven’t tried either The Balm or Nyx, I’ll check them out the next time I’m shopping, thanks for the suggestion!

I use Benefit Dandelion. I am super pale too. I like that Dollface. I saw it the other day. Maybe I’ll try it!

I was using Benefit Dandelion before I switched to cruelty-free brands and Dollface was a close match on my skintone.

Oh I just read your newest post on the Milani Baked blush in Rose D’Oro and I came to check out the rose powder on. Unfortunately they don’t sell Milani products here or other brands in my country but mygranny’s gonna get me some of the Milani Rose blushes when she gets home. I Love the way it looks and it’s kinda limiting to use cause you don’t wanna ruin the design. Thanks for reviewing them 😀

I’ve been using mine for quite awhile (almost daily) and the rose design is still quite visible. 🙂

Such pretty colours! Blissful from Tarte is amazing, love it! I go through phases of blushers – at the moment I’m loving Nars Orgasm (despite really disliking it when i first got it)

I actually got blissful as a less glittery replacement for Nars Orgasm!
