Nyx Dark Circle Concealer Review

Nyx1

Between my seasonal allergies and a recent bout of insomnia, dark circles have become a bit of a problem once again. In my quest to find THE ONE, I decided to try out the Dark Circle Concealer by Nyx Cosmetics.

Here’s what it says that it can do (taken from the Nyx website product description):

A serious solution for one of beauty’s most challenging problems! No fancy names just a product that can be counted on to do the job. The product glides on without looking thick or obvious. Coconut oil provides intensive moisture and ensures no caking. The subtle hint of orange counteracts the appearance of dark circles while natural skin-toned pigments work in unison to provide the ultimate coverage.

My experience: I chose to purchase this one in the lightest shade (fair). When I opened it, I thought, “Eep! It seems awfully orange, and not subtle at all!”. Well, it really applies smoothly and easily, I’ve had no problem applying it with both my fingers and with a concealer brush. It doesn’t dry out the under eye area, and it helps to mask dark circles. But it doesn’t fully hide them. I’ve never found a product that fully hides dark circles.

Verdict: Is it THE ONE? I’m not sure if it really is the one, but it does work. Would I buy it again? Probably, unless I find something that works even better. And so the quest continues…

It is available in a range of four shades: fair, light, medium, and deep, $6 USD on the Nyx website. Since Nyx is difficult to find here in Montreal, I ordered mine from Well.ca for $7.99 CAD.

Question: What is your go-to concealer for dark circles?

Thanks for reading, and have a beautiful day!!! ❤

Disclosure: I purchased this!

  1. Do you use this as a corrector (and apply another concealer on top) or just on its own?
I haven’t found a corrector that I love yet – all the creamy ones seem to be too emollient and crease on me. I’m trying to see if this could be a good option.
