Good morning /afternoon / evening!
I’ve been testing out the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation for the past week and wanted to share my perspective with you all.
If you are new to my blog, you probably will not know that I don’t like wearing liquid foundation. But based on reading several reviews of the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation, I thought that this one might work for my sensitive skin.
Here’s what it says on the Nars website about Sheer Glow:
A glowing, natural radiant finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage that immaculately evens skin tone. Replete with skincare benefits and the NARS Complexion Brightening Formula, it leaves skin hydrated, more luminous, softer and smoother. Used daily, Sheer Glow Foundation improves the skin’s brightness and texture.
The Sheer Glow Foundation is available in 19 different shades on the Nars website (20 shades on the Sephora site). I chose shade Mont Blanc (Light 2) light with pink undertones.
I find that this foundation feels very light on the skin, a huge plus for me as most foundations make my skin feel like it is suffocating.
The website’s description is true for me, it gives my skin a radiant finish, and makes it appear soft and smooth. I love it, it is the perfect shade for my skin.
I only have two complaints about this foundation and neither of them are about the product itself, but about the packaging. Firstly, it doesn’t come with a pump. But you can buy the pump separately directly from Nars, and probably other places as well. Secondly, the gorgeous matte black cap gets dirty with handling, and is difficult to keep clean.
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!!! ❤ ❤ ❤
Disclosure: I purchased this!
Do you set your foundation with powder? Just wondering…

Only under my eyes, and sometimes on my nose so far.

Love this stuff! Just wish Nars would include a pump, really not that much to ask for in a high end foundation. Otherwise an excellent product.

I was surprised that it worked so well for me where I don’t like the way most foundations make my skin feel! 🙂

It is a little different than most foundations, though I have never been able to decide what the difference is exactly.

Great review! I just started using this foundation about a month or two ago and I love it! I have sensitive skin as well and find this foundation does not irritate my skin. I also found a shade that matches my skin tone perfectly. I just love NARS. xoxoxo

You should buy a MAC pump (they are cheaper ;)) … I’ve been wanting to try it for a while now. Next VIB sale !!!

Do you know if the Mac pump will fit the Nars bottle? 🙂

Nope !!! I just verified and the new Nars Sheer Glow bottle doesn’t fit with the Mac pump anymore 😦 It used to …
maybe helpful…
For all those wanting a pump — the nars website has just listed that a pump is now available for 6.00 USD. I am not sure of what it’ll be in Canada (probably $7.00 like the MAC pumps), but please be advised that the reason why a pump was not originally sold with the product is because 1) Francois Nars believed the best tools are the fingers. He believed that with a pump, people would probably use tools with the product, which is not how he intended the product to be used. (Please be advised that if you have oily skin, you should never use your fingers, as the oils from your fingers are something you probably do not want additionally on your face) and 2) The product is water-based. The addition of a pump may affect the way the product is distributed within the bottle. Separation may occur — this is why on the bottle it specifies that the user should shake before every use. If you don’t use this everyday and you have a pump, the product within the tube leading to the top of the pump may separate over time, affecting the product that comes out of the pump itself.

I can’t reply to Ingrid’s post but I just want to say that is a load of crock if I ever heard it! Putting a pump on a product encourages people to use tools and not their fingers? REALLY? I just pump my foundation on my hand and blend with my fingers, are you mental Francois Nars? 😛

I get a more even application using my fingers, I just haven’t perfected using a foundation brush – it just ends up being streaky.

but why no pump right ?
u would think that would be a universal thing now xo

I had assumed that it came with a pump because the tester bottles at Sephora have pumps! So much less mess with a pump.

Shame about the pump, but glad you liked the foundation otherwise 🙂

I’m going to try to get a pump for it – far less of a mess! But yeah, it agrees with my skin! 😊

You’d think in this day & age (as well as the price tag) that they’d provide a pump – it’s just ridiculous *sigh* Fabulous review huni, I’ve yet to try anything from NARS but my wishlist is growing at a scary rate lol Karen xoxoxo

I tried to wrangle one at Sephora, but I didn’t know anyone working so it didn’t work!
I haven’t tried much from Nars yet, but I have a few things on my wish list as well!

Glad to hear this worked well for you! I have another Nars foundation on my to try list: All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. Did you consider that one when you were on the search? It’s really too bad high end companies don’t consider packaging when they design these products – a pump is a must!

I agree with the old style theme carried out in the packaging of the product but definitely, one can’t deny with the quality of the product as it is from Nars.

What’s your skin type?! Please say oily lol

My skin is weird. It is always sensitive, but starts to get dry in the colder months, but is a combination of normal to oily in the warmer months (especially in the t-zone).

Interesting. So for right now it’s good for dry skin?

I think that it is good for a wide range from normal to dry. For oily skin you would probably have better luck with the All Day Luminous Weightless foundation – which I plan to try in the warmer months.
