Nyx Matte Lipstick – Tea Rose – Review

Hello, hello!

I bought this Nyx Matte Lipstick about 2.5 to 3 weeks ago, and I’ve practically worn it every day! Personally, I’m not a big matte lip fan – I mean it looks great, but most matte formulations make my lips feel like they might fall off and die.

Why did I buy a matte lipstick then? Because I liked the colour – Tea Rose – described on the website as a mauve-pink, but on me, it is a perfect rose tone, less mauve, more rosy pink.

Here’s what it says on the website about the Matte Lipsticks:

NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented richly formulated and long-wearing. The formula glides on smoothly and stays put with a non-drying matte finish.

This lipstick really is highly pigmented and long wearing, and actually does not dry my lips out at all! It is moisturizing, almost, but not quite, buttery on the lips.

A very pretty shade for spring (or Valentine’s day), even though as I type this it is super mega cold here in Montrรฉal this morning. But I’m dreaming of spring!

  1. I also owned one before and really loved it. I think it’s one of those lipsticks that I have finished really hit bottom. A bit contrary to what I always wear nowadays but it hit me why not repurchase again? It’s really a good Spring/MLBB lippie. ๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you that I got to remember it again.

  2. I wonder if NYX has Tea Rose in different formulas? Because I remember owning a Tea Rose lipstick from NYX ages ago but it sure wasn’t a matte formula! That’s good it doesn’t dry out your lips – I hate that.
