Hello, hello!
Thanks so a recent reaction to a primer, my skin experienced an uncharacteristic TERRIBLE breakout on my chin and cheek. I have sensitive skin, and a lot of acne treatment products are too harsh for me, and my skin reacts violently to tea tree oil. I was at Sephora and decided to try Kate Somerville’s EradiKate because I remembered that sulfur is effective for treating breakouts.
Here’s what it says on the Kate Somerville website:
EradiKate® Acne Treatment quickly calms flare-ups and is specially formulated to help prevent future breakouts while reducing the appearance of redness.
-
Sulphur, an effective acne-fighter, aids in eliminating existing imperfections and keeping new ones from occurring
-
AHAs are designed to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores
-
Zinc Oxide, a natural mineral, provides oil control by absorbing excess sebum production
Basically, you just apply this thick pink liquid to clean skin with a cotton swab (q-tip) once daily.
My experience: This stuff stinks due to the sulphur content, and it does sting a little when I first apply it, but let me tell you, this stuff WORKS. It helped reduce inflammation and redness, and helped my skin to heal. I did experience some dryness on my chin after using it for a few days, but I was expecting that to happen.
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
Disclosure: I purchased this!
Zinc oxide is great for the skin! I don’t love sulphur though – stinky!
And yes AHA is my go to to exfoliate the skin. Do you ever use BHA or benzoyl peroxide for breakouts?

Sulphur reeks, but it works.
My skin doesn’t tolerate bp at all – I get a skin burn type reaction from it. I have the PC aha treatment, and it is way too strong for my skin, it more than stings.

I got the PC 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide and it burns. However, I got the Benzagel Spot On 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide, and it’s fine. So weird.

The Mario Badescu Drying Lotion is better in my opinion but so hard to find in Canada 😦

That’s okay I think I can survive it! It’s hard to find Cruelty Free Acne products that actually work!

Kate Somerville has some great products but I haven’t tried this one yet. Have you heard about her newest product. They are Q-tips that have the acne medication already in them so you just snap, apply and throw away.

This is the first product that I’ve ever tried from her line. I did get a sample of ExfoliKate but haven’t tried it yet.

I LOVE ExfoliKate. One of my favorites. I buy the travel size one because I can’t seem to fork up the $85 for the other one, even though it is worth it. The travel one lasts me a while since I rotate exfoliating products. 🙂

Good to know – now that my skin has finally recovered from the primer reaction, I can test it out. 😘

This sounds really interesting. Glad it helped clear up your skin, though the smell must have taken a little getting used to.

The smell is the worst, but since most acne treatment products are too harsh for my skin, or have tea tree oil in them, I am somewhat limited to what I can actually use.

To be honest, it is a pretty new product for me and glad to know that it is very effective for break outs

I tried it because I was unable to find the Mario Badescu one here. Thankfully it didn’t make my skin react!

I will if I make it there over the weekend. If it isn’t super cold I might walk down to the Saint-Denis store rather than go all the way downtown.

Zinc oxide is in the diaper cream I use for the baby! It’s AWESOME stuff. He likes to smear it on his face when I’m not looking – guess he knows better than I do 😉

Haha! Zinc oxide is so good for so many things – especially for skin irritations like when you have a cold and your nose gets sore from all the blowing.
