Hello, hello!
WordPress was being finicky this morning (and at lunchtime), so I’m posting later than usual. But better late than never! Let’s go!
I wanted to try a new powder foundation as my Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder was very nearly finished. After being tempted by a few different brands, I decided to test out the Cocoa Powder Foundation from Too Faced Cosmetics.
Here’s what it says on the website:
Indulge in our Cocoa Powder Foundation that glides on seamlessly, blending into skin for a weightless, plush-matte, rose petal finish. Infused with our Exclusive Cocoa Complex, this antioxidant-rich, oil-absorbing, non-drying powder defends against free radicals, while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and pores. More than a powder foundation, it hides imperfections while improving the appearance and feel of skin for total complexion perfection. Its decadent chocolate scent smells as good as it feels.
My Thoughts:
First off, the packaging is gorgeous, from the outer box to the inner compact.
Cocoa Powder Foundation is available in 8 shades, ranging from fair to deep tan – I’m in the fair to light range, so the lightest end of the shade range works for me, but I don’t feel that there is much selection for darker skin tones – hopefully they will expand their shade range.
The powder is very finely milled, so it goes on super smooth and glides onto my skin. Applied with a makeup brush, I can get anywhere from a light and sheer coverage that is buildable to a medium coverage. But with the sponge applicator, the coverage is medium, buildable to full. I don’t find it to be drying at all, like most powder foundations. It helps keep my face feeling hydrated but not at all greasy, and the finish is luminous yet matte. I love it. I can’t wait to try more from Too Faced Cosmetics!
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
Disclosure: I purchased this!

I really love how it makes my skin look, and it doesn’t feel heavy or drying at all.

I know powder foundation is perfect since you don’t need to work about the cakey feeling that liquid foundation might sometimes able to give.

I think that I like this one even more than the Urban Decay one that I’ve been using for YEARS!

That sounds great Jodi. Besides, it is travel friendly too as you don’t need to worry about any leaks or droppings.

I have recently heard that Lancome cushion foundation is so light weighted and works exemplarily well. Did you give it a go Jodi?

I don’t think I’ve ever tried anything from Lancôme other than perfume many years ago…

When I hear Cocoa Powder Foundation I think it’s all geared toward bronze or darker skin tones for some reason! Does it smell like cocoa powder or like a sweet chocolate? I’ve not tried any Too Faced makeup except for their eye shadow primer (which is great).

It has a faint cocoa / chocolate smell – the first time I used it, it was weird due to my sensitive nose, but the scent disappears quickly

Is the chocolate scent artificial smelling at all?

No, it smells just like cocoa powder – like for baking, not the hot chocolate powder.

Can we talk about your accessories for a second? I love them! And that saucer is gorgeous!!
I tend to prefer the look and feel of powder foundation over liquid foundation but it’s so hard to find one that works for dry skin! I’ll have to keep this in mind for when my current powder runs out.

Thanks! The bracelet was from Victoria Secret a few years ago, and the earrings are from either forever 21 or H&M – I think I got them last summer. ❤️

More like cocoa for baking – not super sweet – but the scent fades quickly.
