Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation

Hello, hello!

WordPress was being finicky this morning (and at lunchtime), so I’m posting later than usual. But better late than never! Let’s go!

I wanted to try a new powder foundation as my Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Pressed Finishing Powder was very nearly finished. After being tempted by a few different brands, I decided to test out the Cocoa Powder Foundation from Too Faced Cosmetics.

Here’s what it says on the website:

Indulge in our Cocoa Powder Foundation that glides on seamlessly, blending into skin for a weightless, plush-matte, rose petal finish. Infused with our Exclusive Cocoa Complex, this antioxidant-rich, oil-absorbing, non-drying powder defends against free radicals, while minimizing the appearance of fine lines and pores. More than a powder foundation, it hides imperfections while improving the appearance and feel of skin for total complexion perfection. Its decadent chocolate scent smells as good as it feels.

 My Thoughts:

First off, the packaging is gorgeous, from the outer box to the inner compact.

Cocoa Powder Foundation is available in 8 shades, ranging from fair to deep tan – I’m in the fair to light range, so the lightest end of the shade range works for me, but I don’t feel that there is much selection for darker skin tones – hopefully they will expand their shade range.

The powder is very finely milled, so it goes on super smooth and glides onto my skin. Applied with a makeup brush, I can get anywhere from a light and sheer coverage that is buildable to a medium coverage. But with the sponge applicator, the coverage is medium, buildable to full. I don’t find it to be drying at all, like most powder foundations. It helps keep my face feeling hydrated but not at all greasy, and the finish is luminous yet matte. I love it. I can’t wait to try more from Too Faced Cosmetics!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: I purchased this!

  1. When I hear Cocoa Powder Foundation I think it’s all geared toward bronze or darker skin tones for some reason! Does it smell like cocoa powder or like a sweet chocolate? I’ve not tried any Too Faced makeup except for their eye shadow primer (which is great).

  2. Can we talk about your accessories for a second? I love them! And that saucer is gorgeous!!
I tend to prefer the look and feel of powder foundation over liquid foundation but it’s so hard to find one that works for dry skin! I’ll have to keep this in mind for when my current powder runs out.
