Hello, hello!
Today is a little departure from my usual make-up and skincare reviews. Instead I’m going to show you two recent purchases (non makeup / skincare).
The first thing is a new case for my kindle. My original one was plain black, so I decided that I wanted a bright case, making it easier to find. It is from the brand Fintie, and I purchased it on Amazon for less than $20 CAD.
When my parents gifted me my Kindle (about a year and a half ago), I really thought that I would only use it for travelling since I tend to bring a few books with me and this would save on weighing down my travel bag.
I love my kindle. I just started reading my 57th book of the year! I love that I can just download a new book as soon as I finish reading one. I also love that it has adjustable screen brightness.
Ok, now onto my other recent purchase – a new pair of flipflops from Softmoc. They are from the brand Sanuk, and are the YOGA JOY style in metallic rose gold. They are listed at $44.99 CAD (and currently on sale for $39.99) on the Softmoc website.
Synthetic strap with soft jersey lining. Synthetic covered nylon webbing toe post for comfort. Added arch cookie for support. Yoga mat footbed. Sponge rubber outsole with repeating Happy U logo tread. Vegan & vegetarian.
These flipflops are so comfortable! And I love the distressed metallic effect on the straps.
I have only one complaint about these gorgeous sandals – if you get caught in the rain, the yoga mat footbed really soaks up a LOT of water, so expect a very wet and squishy walk home. They will take a day to dry out (faster if you put them in the sun to dry). But for how cushy and comfortable they are, I’ll deal with the wet sponge risk!

a brash attitude 
I’ve tried Sanuk sandals and they’re so SQUISHY! I was half tempted but I still prefer Reefs because they have really good arch support.
Cute Kindle case! I have a Kobo and I love it too, although I’ve um, not read anywhere near 57 books this year LOL.

I’ll have to check out Reefs. I need a combination of cushion and support. It is so hard to find both!
I set myself a goal with a minimum of 50 books to be read in a year. Most years I finish somewhere between 75 and 90.

The Kindle case is adorable! I have a really old Kindle and unfortunately I don’t use it as much as I should – never bothered to get a case for it. What a waste, hehe.
