Schmidt’s Deodorant Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing two Schmidt’s Deodorants. Schmidt’s Deodorants are natural, vegan and cruelty-free and are available in stick or jar format in five different scents: lavender and sage, bergamot and lime, cedarwood and juniper, ylang-ylang and calendula, and fragrance free.

I’ve been testing the Ylang-Ylang and Calendula, and the Mr. has been testing the Cedarwood and Juniper scent.

Schmidt's Natural Deodorant

The elegant aroma of Ylang-Ylang + Calendula is sweet with delicate floral notes. This formula is soothing to the skin with enhanced antibacterial protection.

Ingredients (Ylang-Ylang and Calendula scent): Maranta arundinacea (arrowroot) powder, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (candelilla) Wax, Butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (fractionated coconut oil), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cananga odorata (ylang-ylang) essential oil, Calendula officinalis (calendula) essential oil, Tocopherol (vitamin E)

Cedarwood + Juniper is a favorite among men and women alike. This provocative blend offers a warm, woody scent that is irresistible, with antiseptic & detoxifying benefits.

Ingredients (Cedarwood and Juniper scent): Maranta arundinacea (arrowroot) powder, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) Oil, Euphorbia Cerifera (candelilla) Wax, Butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (fractionated coconut oil), Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cedrus deodara (Himalayan cedar) essential oil, Juniperus (juniper) essential oil, Tocopherol (vitamin E)

For the past week (me), and for the past two weeks (the Mr.) , have been wear testing these deodorants under pretty tough testing conditions as the weather has been super hot and humid, and the final test was yesterday with a 5.4 km hike in Rigaud! *see my Instagram for a few photos*

Schmidt's Natural Deodorant

These deodorants REALLY WORK! Yesterday was a really active day, and there was lots of sweating during our hot afternoon hike. But neither of us smelled AT ALL! Not even a tiny bit!

Schmidt’s is long lasting, I’d say easily 20 to 24 hours. And no skin irritation reported by either of us. Out of all the deodorants that we have tested, I think that this brand might work the best for both of our body chemistries!

In case you’ve missed it, I’ve reviewed a few different deodorants, the first in my blog post about switching from anti-perspirant to deodorant where I talk about the detox process, and review three different brands (Primal Pit Paste, Zabana Essentials, and Earth Science Naturals), Herban Cowboy, and last week’s review of the Tom’s of Maine deodorant.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: I purchased these things!

  1. This is great! The ingredients in this brand are pretty much the same as what I make myself. It is awesome to know there is a brand that I can buy that is just as good in quality as what I have at home. Plus, this is much easier to travel with! Thanks for using your pits as guinea pigs (and your husbands) and reporting back to us! Love, love, love.

  2. Oooh ylang-ylang and calendula! That is of interest to me. 20-24hr protection? That’s amazing! Did you try both of the scents? Which one did you prefer? Did you buy this in a store or online?

    1. Holy crap Stashy, this deodorant really works for both myself and A!
I wore the ylang-ylang one for 7 days, and then tried the cedar wood one for one day. Both are great scents – one is delicately floral. And the other is a nice unisex woodsy scent. I bought them at well.ca.
