Ipsy Glam Bag August 2016

Hello, hello!

My Ipsy Glam Bag for the month of August arrived last week but I was finally able to photograph everything over the weekend when I opened my shiny pink envelope.

So let’s get to it! Here’s the bag and the little insert card:

The bag is pretty cute. I wish that there was a print on both sides but the other side is plain.

I received two sheet masks from Sally’s Box / Secret Garden – one is the Camellia Oil Ampoule Mask and the other is the Olive Oil Ampoule Mask. I was not able to find any information as to whether or not this brand is cruelty-free so if anyone can confirm the company’s status, please get in touch!

The Camellia Oil one is supposed to be used for moisturizing + lifting + ultra moisturizing – no that is not a typo, that is what is says on the package! The Olive Oil one is listed as being for moisturizing + smoothing + lifting. I noticed that it contains fragrance in the ingredient list, so I will  be gifting these to someone with less sensitive skin (probably to my mother).

A sample size of the Nyx Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Gleam. I was really happy about getting this as it was on one of my wish lists of things to try! Nyx is a cruelty free brand.

A full size lip crayon from Lord & Berry in shade Intimacy. I have a lot of similar colours already, so this one will be gifted to my mother. In researching whether or not Lord & Berry was cruelty free, I found a lot of different opinions. I could not find any information directly on the Lord & Berry website – not even a FAQ section!

A full size Smokey Eye Pen from Rodial, in shade black. You can never have too many black eyeliners in my opinion. This brand is cruelty free. This eyeliner is super long wearing.

A sample size of the Perfecting Face Polish from Organic Surge. I love skincare products, especially when it says on the package “suitable for sensitive skin”. This is a cruelty free brand. I’m looking forward to trying this once I use up my current facial scrub from Sukin.

So there you have it, my August Ipsy Glam Bag! I will use three of the five products. I would rate this bag a 6 out of 10 for the products, and 9 out of 10 for the bag design (I’m taking off one point because the back of the bag is blank).

How did my Ipsy Glam Bag compare to yours?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: I paid for this Ipsy Glam Bag.

      1. I have very sensitive, acne-prone, oily combination skin. I tried the olive oil one and it made my skin so soft. It might not be for everyone, but it didn’t break me out! Which is a blessing, because I break out very very easily. I find that my acne medicine makes my skin have dry patches but my t zone is so oily!

  1. Pretty decent this month: nice little bag and bunch of products. Very curious about the NYX glow. I have been tryin Organic Surge recently and they make some pretty great affordable stuff, so will be on the lookout for your review of this one.

  2. This is my favourite Ipsy bag design so far – but yeah, they could have repeated the design on the back of the bag.
The artwork on those sheet masks are so cute. I didn’t even know Rodial did makeup!
And Organic Surge – I see them at Winners from time to time. I hope it’s good!

    1. Ok at a quick glance, the face appears to be smoking a cigarette. I know she’s not, but my keeps telling me otherwise! 😂
I’m excited about the organic surge – it is formulated for sensitive skin! I’ll let you know how my skin reacts once I get around to testing it!

  3. I got totally different products, too! but I love, love, love the design. I’ve been getting ipsy for almost 2 years now (gulp) and I’ve probably saved about 4 bags (while they’re all cute, I don’t have use for 24 travel bags!). I think i’ll be saving this one, though!

  4. Looks like we got quite a few of the same products! I didn’t like the NYX highlight because it’s way too dark for me 😦 the light pink would have suited me better. I was kind of “meh” about the Lord & Berry lip pencil, the colour just didn’t jump out at me. I think its because my brain is in bright summer mode!

  5. The illuminator looks beautiful! The bag is cute as well. Overall would you say you are satisfied with the ipsy bags? I’ve been going back and forth between that and Birchbox if I got a subscription box

  6. The little girl on the top of those sheet masks looks like she’s the surprise bad ‘guy’ in a horror movie to me. I’ve never managed to snag a sheet mask from Ipsy! But I’m loving all my mud masks so they probably know better than me anyway. I’m still up in the air about whether I’m keeping Lord&Berry or not. I’ve got mostly-similar colors but nothing quite this cool toned. But I prefer transfer proof!
