ColourPop SuperShock Cheek in Butterfly Beach (Review)

Hello, hello!

Last week I gave a sneak peek at my ColourPop order that arrived last week – in it were five of liquid lipsticks (two Ultra Metallic, two Ultra Glossy and one Ultra Satin) as well as two Super Shock Cheek (highlighters). I’m only going to be reviewing three of the liquid lipsticks, and one of the highlighters as the rest will be going into my soon to be announced giveaway. Today I’m reviewing the SuperShock Cheek in Butterfly Beach.

It is described as:

Soft peach with highlights of gold and silver, a shout-out to our favorite So Cal Beach.

In the package the colour seems a little dark, so I was afraid at first that it would look terrible on my fair skin.

But swatched it is a beautiful rose gold, and can be as subtle or as extreme as you want it to be. I’ve been wearing it to give me a subtle glow.

As for application, because this product has a weird bouncy texture, it is easiest to apply with my fingers, and then blend it out with a synthetic brush if I applied too much.

It looks great paired with the Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso.

I think that this colour would look amazing on a wide range of people from fairer to darker skintones. On the website they have a swatch of it on three different skintones and I think that it looks stunning on all three!

Have you tried this one from ColourPop?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: I purchased this!

      1. I’ve only tried three of the ultra satin – mostly only worn two so far – I find them to not be sticky at all, and not drying or creasing / settling at all. I’m currently testing a few ultra metallics and one seems to be different that the others, a little sticky and dry.

  1. Oooh I’ve been wanting to try at least ONE of ColourPop’s highlighters! I was thinking of the colour in Hippo, which is a lavender. I remember seeing Butterfly Beach on various IG photos – nothing like rose gold to get everyone all worked up! 😉
I do really like how ColourPop shows swatches on various skin tones, same with Charlotte Tilbury. It’s about time!
