Derma MD Canada Reviews

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing a few products that were sent to me for review from Derma MD Canada (the Canadian distributor for Derma MD Skincare).

Glamour Lip Plump

Lip plumpers are still one of the hottest products out there to complete a skincare program. Most of us do not want LIP augmentation, but we definitely want soft, full, supple lips. As we mature, we lose volume (collagen) in our lips, much like our face, but our Derma MD Canada Glamour LIP plumper will help you get that fullness back. Our proprietary formulation contains hyaluronic acid micro-spheres, niacin, antioxidants and peptides. Your lips will LOVE how they look and feel. Non-sticky or burning like most plumpers in the marketplace.

These lip plumper glosses are available in six different shades – Baby Doll Pink, Candy Pink, Coral Vixen, Golden Goddess, Peach Bellini, and Vixen Red. I received “Golden Goddess” – in the tube it looks full on gold metallic. Thankfully it does not apply like that!

Derma MD Glamour Lip Plump

Athough the Glamour Lip Plumper applies like a gloss, it doesn’t have that goopy, sticky feeling that I hate. Instead it feels super moisturizing. It does tingle a little when first applied, but not in that worrisome “oh no, my lips are melting off” kind of feeling. I really didn’t think that I would like this, but I’ve been using it daily!

Below are photos taken to try to illustrate the plumping effect on my lips. The first photo is immediately after applying, and the second is after 10 minutes. I tried to keep the same expression in both shots.

The Glamour Lip Plumper smells kind of like a cross between butterscotch pudding and mint – that might be a weird combination, but there is something that I like about the scent.

Ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid Micro-Spheres, Tri-Peptide 1, Retinyl Palmitate, Benzyl Nicotinate (Niacin), Camphor, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E).

Enzymatic Cleanser – Pineapple / Papaya

The mild enzymes of pineapple and papaya combined with chamomile and additional plant extracts, will gently digest dead skin cells leaving it soft, hydrated and feeling fresh. Enzymes are non-abrasive to the skin. Suitable for all skin types, including sensitive.

This thick yellow gel cleanser smells like pineapple! (And thankfully not like papaya – I have an aversion to the scent). It is super gentle on the skin. It exfoliates without abrading the skin which is perfect for sensitive skin like mine!

Ingredients: Water (aqua), sodium lauryl sarcosinate, lauramidoropyl betaine, decy glucoside, glycerin, xanthan gum, pineapple (ananas sativus) extract, papain, chamomile (chamomile recutita ) extract, grapefruit (citrus grandis) oil, panthenol, phenocarboxymethyl cellulose, grape seed extract, vitamin E acetate, grapefruit, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexyglycerin, butylene glycol, citric acid, potassium sorbate, potassium hydroxide.

Pink Silk Face Firming Rejuvenator

This anti-inflammatory, antioxidant formula combines caviar and AstaXanthin, one of the world’s most powerful antioxidants! It works to slow down the aging process and rejuvenate the skin giving it a more youthful and vibrant appearance. Reduces erythema (redness) and calms the skin, including rosacea skin types. This product makes a beautiful primer for makeup, smoothing the skin and creating the perfect canvas for foundation.

This serum can also be used as a makeup primer. When I first did a patch test on my arm – I immediately thought that it felt more like a primer than a serum to me. The dimethicone helps to smooth out the skin before foundation. I think that I will get more use of this once the weather gets colder, and my skin starts to get a little dry. It has a very mild medicinal type scent, not perfumey or overpowering at all. The serum plays well with concealer, liquid and powder foundation, as well as with BB/CC creams, without any creasing, always a good thing!

  1. OH! I’ve been in love with lip plumpers lately and I really like how the one you have gave you a really pretty sheen and a decent amount of plump! Love it!

The cleanser sounds really nice, but based on their description I was like “digests dead cells, ummmm” at first. Reading that it was gentle for you I guess it’s not abrasive as I thought. Plus, I’m all for smelling pineapples when I wash my face!

    1. Haha, yeah, the digesting of dead skin cells doesn’t sound appealing, but neither does the thought that scrubby exfoliating products basically scrape off the dead skin. This stuff was super gentle.

At first I couldn’t see the plumping effect until I had the photos side by side! And those photos were so difficult to take and try to keep my mouth in the same position!

      1. Haha! True! But sometimes you really need a good exfoliatation like that!

You can really see the difference in your side by side photo – it looks good and it’s nice that you can get some plump without a needle! And as someone who has tried to do before and after photos I know your struggle! You did a great job though

  2. Glad the lip plumper works – I dislike any products that claim to plump lips. Because my lips do NOT need plumping and I don’t like the sensation.
That serum looks good! I like that it plays well under makeup. I’ve not heard of the brand Derma MD before.

    1. I don’t really need the plumping, but I really like how smooth it makes my lips.
I hadn’t heard of them before they contacted me, and then I read up on them, they seem to be very much on the dermaceutical type skincare product, especially anti-aging formulations.

  3. First of all, let me start with lippy – I really love the assured promise of plump lips and moving along to the next product – I really love the pineapple scented theme that runs along the product and finally, the last product that acts as serum and primer – oh my! I alwAys love multi tasking products and the amazing content of caviar is mind blowing and by the way, what is the price tag that it carries as I’ve heard caviar is one of the most expensive kitchen ingredient next to saffron. All in all, perfect trio combo.
