Hello, hello!
Sorry for posting later than usual, I usually have the posts written up the day before, but had a longer than expected work day yesterday so this review didn’t get written up until this morning. Better late than never!
Onto the review!
I purchased the Curl Defining Lotion from Marc Anthony’s Strictly Curls line about two months ago to try out on my thick, wavy, often out of control, sometimes beastly hair. The website claims:
Our number one curly hair product for soft yet defined curls.ย Strictly Curlsโข Curl Defining Lotion is the perfect product for those who love and want to enhance their curls. This alcohol-free, lightweight, non-sticky formula enriched with Vitamin E and Vitamin B binds to the curl strands to create definition, while leaving your curls bouncy and soft to the touch. Curl Defining Lotion will give you lasting curls while repelling humidity, locking in shine and giving you the ultimate frizz control.
First off, this pale lemon lotion smells really nice, kind of reminiscent of lemon meringue pie to me. It doesn’t leave my hair sticky or crunchy but instead makes it super soft and shiny. It tames frizz up to a point. Yesterday is was super wet and rainy, and despite leaving my house with beautiful smooth waves and an umbrella, by the time I got to my appointment, my hair was super wavy, but definitely starting to frizz up. I think that on days like that, I might need to use a second product to help tame and control frizz, or just resign myself to having a giant mane of hair!
The Curl Defining Lotion comes in a massive 245ml / 8.3oz tube, I’ve barely made a dent in it after using it for around two months!
Have you tried this? What is your favourite product to enhance curls or waves and control frizz?
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! โค
Disclosure: I purchased this! My opinion is very much based on my experience of using this product.
You had me at lemon!

It’s smells sweetly lemony to me. Not like lemon pledge which is how a lot of lemon hair products smell to my sensitive nose, haha!

This used to be my go-to product but I would go through the tube SO fast (like in 2 weeks). Now I use Curl Keeper and that lasts me about a month. It’s a good product but like you said, it does kind of cut out before the full day is over.

Really? I’ve been using mine for about two months now and I’ve maybe used 1/4!
I wish I could find curl keeper here, but so far no luck.

There actually are Trade Secrets stores in Quebec! Just not right in Montreal. I’ll have to see if I can get someone with a car to take me on an adventure, or wait until the next time I have a rental car.

I guess I take it for granted… there are probably 4 Trade Secrets within walking distance from me. One that is literally downstairs in our office tower! ๐ Also, one of the hair salons downstairs also sells Curl Keeper. Ok ok now I’m just rubbing it in… ๐

Haha! I’m jealous of your access to so many stores – Trade Secrets, Sally Beauty, Muji, Saje, Nyx – just to name a few!
