Hello, hello!
Today I’m reviewing another one of my recent Ipsy Glam Bag products – the Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant from Pur~lisse. I’ve gotten several products from the Blue Lotus line and they agreed with my sensitive skin, so I was rather excited to try this one out!
Here’s a little info about the product from the Pur~lisse website:
A 10 minute facial treatment designed with Blue Lotus Seeds, White Clay, Bamboo, Ginger, White Tea and Mushroom Extract. This miracle multi-tasker instantly brightens, detoxifies, tightens and soothes skin while providing gentle exfoliation. Our power blend improves skin texture and leaves it visibly youthful & glowing.
Benefits:
~Blue Lotus extract is a powerful antioxidant known for it’s anti-inflammatory benefits ~White Clay tightens skin & purifies pores ~Bamboo improves skin texture ~Ginger detoxifies ~Mushroom extract helps to brightening skin tone ~White Tea soothes skin~Rice Bran Water improves skin texture
I love facial masks, especially mud based ones, but there is something in this mask that does not quite agree with my skin. I did a patch test on my neck without any problem, but on my face, it felt a little tingly – not a burning tingle, but more like the start of itchiness. It did not turn into full on itchiness, thankfully, but definitely felt like I was on the cusp of a skin reaction.
I also found that this mask was super hard to rinse off, it took forever to get it all off my face. Afterwards, my skin did not look any better than it did before applying the mask.
Sadly this one did not work for my sensitive skin. I was surprised since everything else that I’ve tried from this range were great and worked well for me.
Have you tried this facial mask? Did it work for you?
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
Disclosure: Product from monthly subscription box that I pay for.

Too bad about this one. I also hate masks that are difficult to rinse off – really annoying.

It might work great for someone else! I think I’ll pass it onto my mom – she doesn’t have sensitive skin like me, so she will probably love it!

I’m surprised too. I have their eye Serum as well, and am going to be starting that one soon. I’m always excited when I get something from them in a subscription. 🙂

I think I have the eye serum – or an eye cream, I’d have to check, but whichever one I had was super lovely!

Ooh that’s too bad! 😦 I got one of the pur-lisse Blue Lotus cleansers via Ipsy, and I love it! But they d/c’ed it. Grr.

I’ve tried the cleanser, moisturizer, sheet mask, and eye cream – and all were great for my skin, but there is something in this mask that my skin does not like!

I also got this in my glam bag. When I first put it on, it totally burned. (That’s how I found you! I googled Purlisse Blue Lotus and burning). But it has chilled out now.

Oh no! Glad to hear that it calmed down. I’m not sure what caused my reaction, I know a lot of people had no problem with this mask!
