Nyx Lip Lingerie Embellishment Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing one of the Nyx Lip Lingerie liquid lipsticks, in the shade Embellishment.

Here’s what it says on the Nyx website:

Slip into something seductive with Lip Lingerie, our new weightless liquid lipstick with a plush matte finish. Available in a range of color-kissed nudes—from cinnamon pink and chocolate brown, to warm mahogany red and classic nude beige—each sultry shade will coat the curves of your lips with irresistibly creamy color.

Colourwise, I thought that the shade that I picked would be a little pinker in tone based on the online swatches, but on me, it leans more dusty purple toned than pink.

Nyx Lip Lingerie - Embellishment

When first applied it feels creamy, but a little sticky as it dries down to less of a true matte, and more of a semi-matte finish. The stickiness disappears thankfully. I don’t find this liquid lipstick to be very drying, it is actually quite comfortable and fairly long wearing.

  3. “Lip Lingerie” SOUNDS great but I’m not sure I’d like the texture as you described. I don’t like anything remotely MATTE!
    Do you like the colour though? Even though it’s less pink and more purple than you thought it would be? Online swatches are so tricky.

  5. I have a few of the lingerie line and I usually pat down the excess becuase it gets a little bit tacky after several minutes. They also crumble when you apply more product. I love the liquid suede more than the lingerie but I still tend to reach for them once in a while. And!!! This shade is beautiful. 😍

  6. I have the shade Push Up and as much as I like the consistency, I feel like it’s just slightly too nude for me! (I know that sounds a little weird, it being a nude product) but next time I’ll go for something a tiny bit darker 😀

  15. I didn’t want to try the line because they’re all nude, but as you’re describing the formula, despite the fact that I love matte lippies, I’m not feeling them lol. I prefer the Liquid suede to this 🙂

      1. I have three so far, Cherry skies (dark red), kitten heels (regular red), and sandstorm (slightly nude beige). Some people like to buy soft spoken because it’s a nude with pink undertones so it’s a better nude than sandstorm. In fact, I’m getting that one next (hopefully) lol. They are matte* though.

  23. I have this one in Bedtime flirt (love this name) and Ruffle trim! I really enjoy them since they are so long-wearing! But I do find they dry my lips quite a bit.. 😦
