Hello, hello!
I’ve been testing out this facial cleanser from Deciem / Hylamide since my birthday. In fact, it is from my second birthday Sephora haul – this one was paid for by my awesome parents, but all picks were mine! You might recognize a few things that I’ve already reviewed:
Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Rhubarb – reviewed here, Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask – reviewed here, and Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift 2017 – reviewed here. Samples – Chloe Love Story, Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine, Cover F/X Illuminating Primer and Sunday Riley C.E.O. Repair Moisturizer – I have not had a chance to test any of these ones out yet.
Ok, onto the review!
The Hylamide High-Efficiency Face Cleaner is supposed to be good for all skin types, even sensitive! Here’s what it says on the Sephora website:
This highly-efficient, crystal-clear micro-emulsion brings together oils, esters, and water-compatible cleaners into one advanced formula that works like an oil cleaner but acts like a water-based one—rinsing off effectively. In a single step, oils work with plant-derived esters to remove every trace of impurity and face/eye makeup. As you rinse off, Amazonian oils and purified tomato carotenoids leave behind an innocuous layer of comfortable, noncomedogenic hydration.
And the usage is super easy – If makeup is present, massage well onto dry face and rinse with warm water. If no makeup is present, massage well onto wet face and rinse with warm water.
This is a great, super gentle facial cleanser. It feels to me to be somewhere between a facial oil and a micellar water. And it removes make-up easily! I’d say that most mascaras will be removed no problem, and only once or twice did I have to go back and so a second removal for my super “bulletproof” waterproof mascara.
Have you tried this cleanser? I’d like to try more from this brand. It comes in a 4 oz bottle and is $21 CAD (at Sephora) – so it is reasonably priced!
Disclosure: Birthday gift from my awesome parents!
This is in my shopping cart right now! 😀 I’m so tempted. Thanks for the review!

I’m trying to imagine what a mixture of facial oil and micellar water is like! Because those are the 2 part cleansing system I use – cleansing oil first, then micellar water. If I could reduce to ONE product… that would be amazing! I’ll have to check it out when I’m at the Deciem store.

It is somewhere in between the two – more watery than a typical cleansing oil, but not as watery as micellar water. I like it a lot!
