Maison Jacynthe Illuminator and Nail Polish Reviews

Hello, hello!

I was recently sent a lovely package from Maison Jacynthe of some of their new product launches (Thank You Maison Jacynthe!) I’ve previously reviewed products from Maison Jacynthe (here and here) and really loved them, so I was super excited to open my package!

Maison Jacynthe1

I received three products – a Fluid Foundation, an Illuminator / Highlighter, and a Nail Polish.  Earlier this week I reviewed the Fluid Foundation (here), and today I’m reviewing the Illuminator and a Nail Polish.

All info in italics is taken from the Maison Jacynthe website. Let’s start with the Illuminator:

This natural highlighter has an excellent hold and gives you a sublime and structured look. Its formula, made with coffee extracts, corn, macadamia oil and apricot, brightens and hydrates the skin. You will love its texture and fine pigments. Available in 2 shades:

  • 01 Soleil Pétillant is shimmery with a slight golden tint.
  • 02 Lune Rose is also shimmery with a golden pink finish.

Our highlighters catch the light and give you an immediate healthy looking skin.

Maison Jacynthe

I chose the Soleil Pétillant / Sparkling Sun shade. It is a very soft golden highlighter, and really gives my skin a natural looking glow. It is very finely milled, and long wearing. My photos just don’t capture how beautiful it looks on the skin.

All of the eyeshadows, blushes, and illuminators come in this type of packaging where you can purchase a beauty empty compact from Maison Jacynthe, or just put it into another empty palette.

Now onto the Nail Polish:

This unique nail polish (available in 10 colors) is free of 9-10 of the most toxic ingredients usually found in nail polish. * 75.5%-80% of natural origin * enriched with organic silicon with fortifying and protective properties * certified by PETA, cruelty-free * gluten-free, nickel-free (to avoid risks of allergies) * FREE OF: formalin – formaldehyde – toluene – dibutyl phthalate – paraben – xylene – camphor – styrene – benzophenone – rosin (except color #9)

Out of the 10 shades, I picked Taormina, a beautiful mauve nude shade. It is really difficult to capture this shade – as you can see in the above two photos, it looks more grey or brown in tone, but in reality it is more mauve (closer to the first two photos). This is a highly wearable colour. I would say that it needs two to three coats for perfect application. I wear tested this nail polish without a top coat to see how it would perform.

Maison Jacynthe

Most nail polishes do not last more than three days without chipping on me, even with a top coat. The above photo is after five days, no topcoat, – with minor tip wear on most nails, and chips on two nails – so with a topcoat, it would last even longer for me! That is impressive for my nails!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: PR sample, however my opinion is my own!

  1. When i just saw smaller photos on my phone, I totally thought the illuminator was a bar (since the packaging has a cut out to show it). It looks really pretty though!
