13 Months of Ipsy GlamBag – A Look Back

Hello, hello!

I realized that I’ve had my Ipsy GlamBag Subscription for over a year now – 13 months to be exact. After getting ANOTHER black eyeliner, I got to thinking that I would take a look at all of the GlamBags that I received and tally up how many of each product type that arrived each month, rate the contents of each bag, and see how many cruelty free products that I received.

Ipsy GlamBag 13 months

As you can see, the top three categories are Make-up (31 products – out of which 4 were black eyeliners), Skincare (17 products) and Tools (10 – out of which 9 of them were brushes). And, to the best of my knowledge, 58 out of 65 products were cruelty free.

I took off points if there were non-cruelty free products in the bag, or if there were products that I didn’t like (like eyeliners, or highly scented products, or products that I either cannot use due to skin sensitivity, or products that I just won’t use). Anything that I didn’t like or cannot use, I’ve passed onto someone who will make use of them rather than have them go to waste.

Do you have an Ipsy subscription? How long have you had it? And are you mostly happy or disappointed with it?

Disclosure: I pay for this subscription.

  1. I don’t have an ipsy subscription, I don’t think they do it in the UK, but it seems to be one of the boxes that has the most variety in the same month for different people, if that makes sense. There have been times I’ve wished I could get it here, though I will admit sometimes partly for the bag itself, but I haven’t found any subscription boxes so far that are always worth the money. And I really don’t need another black eyeliner πŸ˜†

  2. I’ve had an Ipsy subscription since August 2014 and I still look forward to it every single month. It’s a little gift to myself that still brightens my month up! True, I don’t immediately use every single item, and I’ve gifted or decluttered many that didn’t work for me, but overall I’ve found so many favorites, like the J. Cat Beauty single shadow in Half Naked that I received in my first bag, the Vintage by Jessica Liebeskind highlighter, the ModelCo blush in Peach Bellini, and every single Luxie brush they’ve sent me.

  3. It’s neat to see your bags broken down like that!

I have a couple of different subs and there was a month or two where I kept getting black eyeliners and I was like ok enough guys! XD

Overall, I really love my Ipsy sub. I’ve discovered some great products from it and I’d say I am generally happy with 4 of the 5 items I get!

  4. I don’t have a subscription, but I don’t think I want one. These boxes are cool for trying out products, but I’m getting much more selective with the things I use and wouldn’t want to waste $ or items

  5. Love the chart! πŸ˜€
I’m surprised that you got so much makeup and tools, and not much body care – I think Ipsy is a decent subscription box.
And haha black eyeliners – your nemesis! πŸ˜‰
