Hello, hello!
I’ve reviewed this foundation in the shade 1.2P light with pink undertones that I’ve been wearing all summer. I tend to switch to a lighter shade for the colder months so I decided to try out the shade 1.1N fair neutral. This is less of a review and more of a swatching and comparison post as the formula is the same as what I’ve already reviewed here. (info in italics taken from The Ordinary website).
Serum Foundations are lightweight medium-coverage formulations available in a comprehensive shade range across 21 shades. These foundations offer moderate coverage that looks natural with a very lightweight serum feel.
The pigments used in this format are treated for a rich, highly-saturated effect. These pigments are suspended in our proprietary spreadability system that allows pigments to look natural on the skin, resist collecting within fine lines and stay on for longer. The foundations offer a semi-matte finish and are compatible with most primers
I love how lightweight and natural this foundation looks and feels on my skin.
How does this shade compare to my other foundations?
Swatched from left to right: Nyx Total Control drop foundation in Porcelain , The Ordinary Serum Foundation 1.1N Fair Neutral, The Ordinary Serum Foundation in 1.2P Light with Pink Tones, and Maison Jacynthe Fluid Foundation in Porcelain.
Here’s another swatch with the foundations very slightly blended out:
Shade 1.1N blends really well with my current level of pale to fair skintone.
Do you wear the same shade of foundation all year? Or do you change shades?
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!
Disclosure: I purchased this. And my opinion is very much my own!
I’ve been eyeing the Ordinary foundations for so long! I still can’t decide if I really need it haha

I really need to try this brand! I keep saying that but haven’t done so yet. I pretty much wear the same shade all year since I don’t really tan, but now I’m wondering if I’ve been using colors that are too light. I’m fair with pink undertones I think, but there are too many shades to choose from!

I really like it, and it is super affordable. And I like that there are several workable options for me on the fair to light end of the spectrum.

I definitely change my foundation shade for Winter vs Summer. Right now I’m in a bit of a transition phase where I’m mixing 2 together.
I’ve been matched to shade 2.0N in the Serum foundation – I plan to pick it up next week!

I started transitioning my foundation shade by mixing the two together (1.2P and 1.1N) and now I’m just wearing the 1.1N. If I end up turning even paler (which can happen) I’ll mix in some of the Nyx Porcelain.

I seem to stay basically the same shade year round (probably because the weather in Florida doesn’t change a whole lot – just goes from hot to… less hot).

I’m sure if I lived somewhere with similar weather I’d probably stay with the same shade year round as well. Here we get a range from hot to arctic cold!

I use two different shades of the same foundation. Max Factor Pan Stik 23 Fair is my foundation from March to November. Max Factor Pan Stik 12 True Beige is my winter foundation. 🙂
