Kat Von D Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick (OG Lolita) Review

Hello, hello!

I was sent the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick Voxbox from Influenster in the shade OG Lolita. If you follow me on InstaGram, you’ve seen a few photos that I’d posted. [all info in italics taken from the Sephora website]

What it is:
A breakthrough new lipstick combining super-creamy color and weightless, comfortable long wear.

What it does:
Introducing the new and reborn Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick—the creamiest, most cushiony and unbelievably pigmented lipstick to ever cross your lips.

Discover your new go-to color from Kat Von D’s biggest, boldest shade range. The collection includes 40 shades in three finishes, and features rich reds, bold berries, and neutrals for every complexion. You’ll also find beloved Everlasting Liquid Lipstick shades, now in the Studded Kiss formulation.

See and feel the difference instantly. Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick features a high-chroma content for pure, vivid color in a revolutionary new base formula that’s crystal clear, super-soft, and virtually weightless. Made with smooth, spherical pigments and lip-nourishing ingredients, it’s never been easier to coat your lips in creamy, comfortable color.

I’d tried the original formulation a few years ago, and didn’t love it. I found it to be very drying on the lips which for me make a lipstick unwearable!

The new formulation is highly pigmented, comfortable, non-drying and long wearing. I received the shade OG Lolita, a dusty rose shade in satin matte finish – and you all know how much I love rose based shades! I’ve been wearing it non-stop since it arrived in my mailbox.

There are several shades that I’m adding to my wish list – Adora, Lovecraft, Sanctuary, Hawkwind, Cathedral, Misfit, Hexagram, Motorhead, and Gold Blooded (just to name a few, haha!)

Disclosure: PR sample / complimentary product from Influenster / KVD Beauty, however my opinions are very much my own!

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil from Aromatherapy Associates that came in a recent Petit Vour subscription box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil

Treat your body to the warming powers of Rosemary, Black Pepper, Lavender and Ginger essential oils to de-stress after an intense workout or spending too much time in one position at work. Your aching muscles will appreciate the TLC.

HOW TO USE:
Massage a capful onto your torso, focusing on any areas of concern. Cup your hands, bring them to your face and inhale deeply 3 times. Step into a warm bath or shower and enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil

I managed to get two uses from my sample vial (3ml / 0.1fl oz). This is such a beautiful bath oil – the scent is so lovely! I can’t particularly smell the black pepper notes, but the blend of rosemary, lavender and ginger works so well together.

I love having a nice hot bath after yoga if I can.  I love having a nice hot bath any time really, haha! My muscles are happy, and I feel so relaxed. As an added plus, the bath oil works great for softening and hydrating the skin. I love it!

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil

Lily Lolo Makeup Mist Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Makeup Mist from cruelty free brand Lily Lolo that came in my November Petit Vour subscription box. [all info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Lily Lolo Makeup Mist

A refreshing mist that sets make-up and prolongs its hold, specifically formulated to leave make-up looking flawless without smudging or setting into fine lines. The perfect final step for flawless, long-lasting makeup.

I don’t think that I’ve ever tried a makeup setting spray before, so I was excited to test this one out. This is also the first Lily Lolo product that I’ve tried!

Taking a look at the ingredient list (which is not only cruelty free, but also vegan), there are loads of skin friendly ingredients.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Panthenol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice Powder, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Citric Acid, Lycium Chinense (Goji Berry) Fruit Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract)

Lily Lolo2

The Lily Lolo Makeup Mist does help my makeup stay fresh looking, and helps to set it. The mist also makes a nice skin refresher on no-makeup days when my skin needs a blast of refreshing moisture. As an added plus, it has little to no scent.

My only complaint is that the sprayer / nozzle is inconsistent, not always a gentle mist, sometimes more of a splatter – which smears my makeup instead of setting it. I plan to put it into a bottle with a better sprayer / nozzle because I’d like to continue using this setting spray.

I’d like to try more from Lily Lolo.

Have you tried this setting spray? If not, which one do you use? Or do you not use setting sprays?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Ouai Wave Spray Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Wave Spray from Ouai. I purchased this for myself back in December after talking about it with Stacey (The Bambi Eyes) on her blog and IG. [info in italics taken from the Sephora website]

What it is: A weightless texture hair mist infused with rice protein to add hold for effortlessly chic, undone hair.

Key benefits:
– Creates beachy waves
– Enhances texture and builds body
– Give hair memory and shine
Ouai Wave Spray

If you want to know more… Wave Spray is made with rice protein instead of sea salt so is safe against color-treated and/or keratin-treated hair. The floral fragrance contains notes of bergamot, Italian lemon, rose de mai, magnolia, lily, blackberry, violet, cedarwood, amber, patchouli, sandalwood, and white musk.

Ouai Wave Spray

I prefer to wear my hair wavy, but I really dislike it when products make my hair feel heavy, crunchy or stiff. The Wave Spray enhances my natural waves without making them feel gross or look dull or dirty. It also tames frizz!

My only complaint is that the scent is a little too strong for my sensitive nose. The scent is quite lovely, but when I use it, I smell it all day, which gets to be a little overwhelming at times. I wish that the scent was about half as strong.

Have you used this cruelty free wave spray? What do you use?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: I purchased this!

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Golden Hour Recovery Cream from Ursa Major that came in December’s Petit Vour subscription box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

This intensely hydrating yet fast-absorbing face cream provides deep hydration and nourishment to soothe and replenish weary skin. Use it as a daily moisturizer, as a “wrinkle-busting” night cream or anytime your skin needs extra TLC. Works great for all skin types; especially recommended for anyone recovering from prolonged exposure to the elements.

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

  • Delivers intense hydration without feeling heavy
  • Helps combat the visible signs of aging
  • Reduces the appearance of redness and uneven skin tone
  • Soothes irritation from dryness and exposure to the elements
  • Works for all skin types, especially dry, sensitive or neglected skin

Aroma: Neroli, sandalwood and a touch of sour rose anchored with fresh-soaked earth.

Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream

This golden hued facial cream arrived during a deep freeze, so my skin needed the extra boost of moisture. It is super hydrating, but not heavy or greasy. The scent is mild and earthy – but I don’t get the sour rose scent at all.

It works well for both day and night, and plays nicely with my foundation. All in all a lovely facial cream, perfect for cold weather.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

True Moringa Lip Whip Review

True Moringa Lip Whip

The Lip Whips are available in three different shades: Truth (pink yarrow cocoa), Mystery (burgundy Anise) and Moonlight (white gold peppermint).

True Moringa Lip Whip

As you all know, I’m a lip balm addict, so I was happy to see a tinted lip balm in the December box. I currently don’t have any other tinted lip balms in my stash right now.

It is a really pretty glossy balm, but without the stickiness of a lip gloss. I find it to be super hydrating, and the hint of tint is really pretty. I find myself using it a lot these days, as my lips have been dry from the winter weather.

Although the description says that it is naturally flavoured, I really cannot taste anything. Or for that matter, it does not seem to have any scent whatsoever, which I find surprising as I would expect it to smell like cocoa butter.

True Moringa is cruelty free brand (all Petit Vour brands are cruelty free).

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Ultra-Natural Mascara

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Ultra-Natural Mascara that came in my December Petit Vour subscription box. Here’s what it says on the Petit Vour website:

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Mascara

Volumizing nutrient-rich mascara powered by intense plant-derived Phyto-Pigments for a feathery-soft look and feel after every smooth, buildable coat. Non-drying formula leaves lashes clump-free and is designed to minimize smudging and flaking.

WHAT IT DOES:

  • Volumizes lashes
  • Unique brush designed for optimal pick-up of the formula: slim profile for precise application and spiral-shaped to coat lashes from all angles
  • Formulated with more than 60% certified organic ingredients and with Phyto-Pigments and minerals instead of petroleum combustion carbon black

juice beauty mascara4

Just a reminder about my lashes – they are long and stick straight, so I have to curl my lashes before I apply mascara or else it looks like I don’t have any lashes. As well, my eyes are sensitive so many mascaras irritate my eyes. My eyes water easily, so smudge-proof mascara is a MUST.

I have seven requirements for a mascara:

1. waterproof

2. smudge-proof

3. non-flaking / non-clumping

4. must be DARK black (not blackish, not brown black, and definitely not grey black)

5. volumizing

6. must hold a curl

7. non-irritating to my sensitive eyes

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Mascara

So how does this mascara measure up?

When first applied, I found that it gave me natural looking lashes without clumping or flaking, a kind of a “my lashes but slightly better” look as it darkened them slightly and seemed to hold a curl. It did not give me the level of volume that I was expecting.

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Mascara

I wore this mascara and went out to run a few errands yesterday afternoon. When I came home and looked in the mirror, THE HORROR! It was smeared REALLY BADLY under my eyes!  So it is definitely not waterproof  (which it does not claim) or smudge-proof (it claims to be smudge-proof).

I will say two good things about this mascara – it was super easy to remove (on purpose, not the accidental horror-show smear-fest), and it did not irritate my eyes. Because of that I’ll score it 2 out of 7.

If you like a natural looking mascara and don’t have watery eyes, you might really like this mascara. But sadly, it is not the one for me!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
