Sample Testing – First Aid Beauty Triple Protection Skin Tint

Hello, hello!

Last weekend I popped into Sephora to try to get samples of two tinted SPF products – the First Aid Beauty Triple Protection Skin Tint with Goji Berry and the Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream. They didn’t have the Juice Beauty one at my Sephora store, so I only got to test out the Skin Tint from First Aid Beauty. [info in italics taken from Sephora website]

What it is:
A weightless skin tint that imparts buildable color while protecting against pollution and environmental aggressors.

If you want to know more…
This weightless complexion fluid instantly adds natural-looking color to help even skin tone, conceal imperfections, and create a flawless look, while helping protect against the harmful effects of urban pollution. The superfood-powered formulation contains antioxidant-rich ingredients—including goji berry, astaxanthin, and vitamin C—to help shield skin from environmental aggressors, anti-pollution active ingredient alteromonas ferment extract, and pure mineral zinc oxide to help protect skin from photo-aging. This ultra-light, breathable fluid glides easily and effortlessly onto skin for simple, brush-free, buildable coverage.

I did a 24 hour patch test on my wrist, and since there was no reaction, I decided to test the Skin Tint this week instead of using my foundation. It is available in four shades – Fair, Light, Medium and Tan. Because I am still winter pale, I got my sample in Fair. Shade-wise it is a perfect match for me right now, but for the summer, I would probably use Light.

The coverage is light, and very natural looking, so if you prefer medium to full coverage, then this is not the one for you. I wore it with my usual under eye concealer with no problems. The finish is a little on the dewy side, so it might not work for oily skins without powder (I used my Milani powder). The first two times I used the Skin Tint, I really loved how this made my skin look and feel.

The third time that I tried the Skin Tint, I noticed that it made my skin look really dry and flaky looking – no matter how much blending I did it clung to my skin terribly! I had to wash it off because I could not make it look nice. If you have dry skin, this is probably not the one for you as it clings to dry patches and looks terrible.

I exfoliated that night, and tried the Skin Tint out again the next day, and it looked great. My skin is less prone to dryness in the warmer months, so the cling problem likely will not be an issue for me.

Will I buy the full size? I’m not sure. I would like to try out a few more before committing to a full size. Do you have any recommendations for cruelty-free tinted SPF products -moisturizer, BB or CC creams?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: In case you missed it at the beginning, this was a free sample from Sephora.

  1. So odd that it’s dewy, so probably a no-go for oily skin, but yet, not great for dry skin either. I find that tinted products generally don’t end up working for my oily skin so I end up using full-blown foundation all year round.
