Hello, hello!
Today I’m reviewing the Lip & Cheek Pod from Donore Cosmetics that came in my November Petit Vour subscription box. I like the idea of a multi-use product. Let’s take a closer look at the product description and ingredients [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]
The lip & cheek pod offers naturally vibrant colors blended with essential oils and Shea butter to moisturize, plump and condition lips. The organic lipstick is a long-lasting formula that provides maximum coverage with effortless application, leaving lips feeling soft and smooth all day. A hydrating formula loaded with antioxidants and is 100% natural lipstick with color derived from fruit pigment.
- Bronzed Kiss – a cappuccino, bronze color with subtle shimmer
- Pretty in Pink – pink with subtle shimmer
- Cherry Bomb – a matte, cherry red
- Dragonberry Royale – a matte berry
- Tiger Melon – vibrant coral pink with a hint of shimmer
The shade that I received is not identified on the package, but it looks like I received Tiger Melon based on the shade description.
Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Ricinus Communis (Castor) Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Helianthus Annuus (Sun Flower) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter, Simmondsia Chinesis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Origanum Vulgare Leaf Extract, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme)Extract, Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Bark Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Hydrastis Canadensis (Golden Seal) Root Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract-PreservativeTocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E), *Certified Organic
The Lip and Cheek Pod feels like a silky lip balm on the lips, very hydrating and comfortable with lots of plant-based oils and waxes. It has a very mild, almost non-existent scent.
In terms of the claim of “vibrant colors” I would have to disagree. As you can see from the swatch on my fairly pale skin, the colour is very minimal. And on my lips, it is almost invisible. Despite the lack of pigmentation, it makes a really great lip balm, so I’ll definitely be using it a lot!
Thanks for reading!
Disclosure: This came in my Petit Vour subscription box that I pay for.
This sounds good! Great review 🙂

I love multi-purpose products too 😄 They forgot to label the shade name? 🤣 funny that you have to find out by description haha

Yeah, I’m not familiar with the brand to know if this is a thing, or if it was a mistake. 😂

Too bad it didn’t deliver on pigmentation – it looks like such a pretty shade!

I guess they meant shiny when they said vibrant. 😉
Good to hear this one works great as a lip balm.

It’s unfortunate that it’s not as pigmented as you expected, it does look pretty though. I’d use it as a balm too.
