Donore Cosmetics Lip & Cheek Pod Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Lip & Cheek Pod from Donore Cosmetics that came in my November Petit Vour subscription box. I like the idea of a multi-use product. Let’s take a closer look at the product description and ingredients [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Donore Lip & Cheek Pod

The lip & cheek pod offers naturally vibrant colors blended with essential oils and Shea butter to moisturize, plump and condition lips. The organic lipstick is a long-lasting formula that provides maximum coverage with effortless application, leaving lips feeling soft and smooth all day. A hydrating formula loaded with antioxidants and is 100% natural lipstick with color derived from fruit pigment.

  • Bronzed Kiss –  a cappuccino, bronze color with subtle shimmer
  • Pretty in Pink – pink with subtle shimmer
  • Cherry Bomb – a matte, cherry red
  • Dragonberry Royale – a matte berry
  • Tiger Melon – vibrant coral pink with a hint of shimmer

The shade that I received is not identified on the package, but it looks like I received Tiger Melon based on the shade description.

Donore Lip & Cheek Pod

The Lip and Cheek Pod feels like a silky lip balm on the lips, very hydrating and comfortable with lots of plant-based oils and waxes. It has a very mild, almost non-existent scent.

In terms of the claim of “vibrant colors” I would have to disagree. As you can see from the swatch on my fairly pale skin, the colour is very minimal. And on my lips, it is almost invisible. Despite the lack of pigmentation, it makes a really great lip balm, so I’ll definitely be using it a lot!

Thanks for reading!
