Hello, hello!
Today I’m reviewing The Underarm Bar from Kaia Naturals that came in my January Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]
Transforms any natural deodorant into extra strength protection. Formulated with apple cider vinegar and activated charcoal to create a protective barrier against odor-causing bacteria. Use the bar on your underarms prior to applying natural deodorant for extra odor protection on those extra sweaty days.
Usage: Moisten the bar, and create a paste. Apply to odorous areas (underarms, feet, etc) in a circular motion. Leave on for 30 seconds before rinsing. Use daily with The Takesumi Detox Deodorant.
I’ve been using the Underarm Bar for two weeks, with natural deodorants. Unfortunately I don’t own the Takesumi Detox Deodorant yet, but I plan on buying one after I use up my current stash. I’ve been testing it with my Native Deodorants – both the regular and sensitive formulas.
So how does it measure up?
THIS STUFF IS FREAKING AWESOME! It makes my baking soda free deodorant last until I shower the next day. Baking soda free deodorants tend to not be a long lasting for me, but I try to use them on days that I’m working from home to give my sensitive underarm skin a break from the baking soda in my regular natural deodorant.
I really think that with this bar, I am going to be able to start exclusively using a baking soda free deodorant! How awesome is that?
Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Olea Europaea (Olive Oil), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Pyrus Malus (Apple) Vinegar, Sodium Chloride (Sea Salt), Carbo Activatus (Activated Charcoal), Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Camphor, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil.
Disclosure: This came in my Petit Vour subscription box that I pay for.
The deodorant struggle is so real! I am defs going to give this a try 🙂

I like that it comes with a strap, makes storage a lot easier.
Jodi, what is the issue with baking soda deodorant? 🤔

Baking soda is one of the ingredients that helps make natural deodorants work well. But if you have sensitive skin, it can trigger a reaction – for me it is eczema like if I use one with baking soda in it all the time. The sensitive formulations are often baking soda free, so they don’t irritate, but they aren’t as long lasting for me.

This stuff sounds amazing and it’s all natural? The one time I tried a natural deodorant, it didn’t last for long at all.

It’s natural, cruelty free and vegan. This works with a natural deodorant to boost effectiveness, it isn’t a deodorant replacement.

That’s so neat! Glad that someone thought of this to go with natural deodorants.

I know! Such a great idea. I really want to try their deodorants once I finish up my current stash (Native brand).

So that means that it will most likely work with any deodorant. Maybe. Not just with the one they recommend.. hmm.. I really need a new deodorant. I might just toss the one I currently have because i don’t like it

I used it with two different ones from Native and it worked well with both. So yeah, it should work with any brand of natural deodorant.

This is such a cool product; I’ve actually never used a baking powder deodorant, I’ve been using a crystal deodorant and I find they work really well but I don’t know if they are cruelty-free or not. Thanks for sharing!

It would probably work with that one as well.
