Hello, hello!
Today I’m reviewing the Sun Bum Mineral Tinted Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 30. I purchased this awhile back from well.ca and have been using it for several weeks. [info in italics taken from the Sun Bum website]
Some of us like to go as au naturel as possible, so we’re really proud to introduce our new zinc-based Mineral collection for your lounging and earth loving pleasure. Lightweight, silky, SPF 30 Mineral Tinted Sunscreen Face Lotion glides on like butter and provides a chemical free sunscreen and primer with a matte finish.
The first time I applied this zinc-based mineral sunscreen, I almost threw it out – it goes on so buttery (and not in a good feeling way, but in a greasy feeling way) – BUT wait – it actually sets to a semi-matte finish that feels very light. The tint is minimal – basically just enough to eliminate the white cast effect that often comes with zinc-based sunscreens. The coverage is light, and basically just evens out my skin. I’ve worn it on its own, with concealer, and with powder and it works well each way. I haven’t tried it with full foundation as I don’t wear foundation in the summer time, but based on how it plays with concealer and powder, I think that it would work well if that’s your thing.
Tint-wise it works well for my fair to light skin tone. I’m not sure how well this would work for medium skin tones, and am doubtful this work work for darker skin tones – I think that there should be several skin tone options – having just one shade is pathetic!

i’m still in need of a mineral sunscreen and cannot find one i like 😦 i had my eye on this but it is pretty pitiful that they only have one shade… i wonder if it would work on me but i won’t know until i try right?

One shade makes it doubtful that it would work for everyone. I haven’t seen it swatched on different skin tones.

Love the review!. Been meaning to try this product! Not sure if it’ll suit my oily skin since ingredients looks like it has oil in it but maybe I’ll try it one day. I have a post myself on other mineral sunscreens if you’re interested in checking other brands that worked for me 😊
