Kosasport Chemistry AHA Serum Deodorant Review

Kosasport Chemistry AHA Serum Deodorant

Hello, hello – welcome to A Brash Attitude!

After several weeks of testing, I’m finally ready to review the Kosasport Chemistry AHA Serum Deodorant that I purchased during a mini Sephora haul .[info in italics taken from the Sephora Canada website]

Kosasport Chemistry AHA Serum Deodorant

What it is: A clean, stain-free serum deodorant that features a unique AHA blend for the ultimate odor-fighting formula. Available in Serene Clean (notes of citrus, ylang ylang), Beachy Clean (notes of jasmine, sandalwood, vanilla), and Fragrance Free.

Highlighted Ingredients:

– AHA Blend: Deodorizes, exfoliates, improves skin‘s moisture, and addresses visible dullness and discoloration.

– Aloe Vera Juice: Moisturizes, soothes, and visibly invigorates

– Hyaluronic Acid: Hydrates for softer, smoother skin.

What Else You Need to Know: Featuring a blend of shikimic, mandelic, and lactic acids, this deodorant targets odor where it starts by supporting a pH environment where odor-causing bacteria can‘t survive. Free from aluminum and baking soda, the cooling formula soothes skin, visibly brightens, helps prevent the occurrence of ingrown hairs, and feels good to roll on.

Kosasport Chemistry AHA Serum Deodorant

The good – very gentle and non-irritating on my sensitive underarm skin. It even feels hydrating. The Beach Clean scent blend of jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla is quite lovely. As you might know, I’m not normally a fan of jasmine, but this blend works. I am currently avoiding all baking soda based deodorants due to sensitivity.

The less good – During our recent heatwave, this deodorant crapped out on me – and full disclosure, it wasn’t pretty (can we say stanktacular)! But on cooler days, it worked great. So personally I would use another deodorant form my stash on super active or super hot days, and use this one on cooler or less active days. The thing about natural deodorants is that due to our differences in body chemistry (and diet etc), a deodorant that works well for one person, might be horrible for another person.

Overall – I like this deodorant, but I don’t love it.

Have you tried this deodorant?

Nécessaire The Body Lotion Review

Nécessaire The Body Lotion

Hello, hello – welcome to A Brash Attitude!

Nécessaire The Body Lotion

If you follow me on InstaGram, you’ll know that I purchased The Body Lotion from Sephora a few weeks ago, and have been using it pretty much daily ever since, so I’m finally ready to review it! [info in italics taken from the Sephora website]

What it is: A daily multi-vitamin moisturizing treatment to nourish and strengthen the skin. Fast-absorbing. Hypoallergenic. Dermatologist-Tested. Non-Comedogenic.

Highlighted Ingredients:

– Niacinamide: Clinically shown vitamin B3 helps strengthen the skin’s natural barrier.

– Plant Oils: Marula, cacay, and meadowfoam oils help nourish the skin.

– Peptides: Two signal peptides help skin’s visible firmness and tightness.

Nécessaire The Body Lotion

What Else You Need to Know: The Body Lotion is a fast-absorbing moisturizing treatment with facial-grade ingredients. Barrier-supporting Niacinamide, Marula, Meadowfoam and Cacay oils. Naturally rich in Vitamins A, C, E, Omegas 6, 9, and two peptides. Skin feels moisturized and nourished. No Silicones. No Parabens. No PEGs.

Nécessaire The Body Lotion

This is my first purchase from the brand Nécessaire, and there are two main reasons why I chose The Body Lotion – the first being that it is fragrance free, and the second is that I hoping for a super hydrating and quick absorbing body lotion. I also liked the combination of ingredients.

It is a super light texture, and it absorbs fairly fast, and hydrates my skin ALL DAY and doesn’t feel greasy on humid days!

The Beauty of Eczema Bath Salts Review

The Beauty of Eczema Bath Salts

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

The Beauty of Eczema Bath Salts

If you follow me on InstaGram, you will have seen that I attended the Keratinworks Self Care Pampering Virtual Event with BlendPR. Attendees received a box of self care pampering goodies, and today I’m reviewing The Beauty of Eczema Bath Salts [info in italics taken from The Beauty of Eczema website]

The Beauty of Eczema Bath Salts

The Beauty of Eczema™ is a full range of products for very dry and sensitive skin that was born through Camille’s personal struggles. Camille proudly created a range of beautiful, natural, vegan, cruelty-free, botanically scented skincare suitable for sensitive skin angels. Camille particularly loves that they contain over 97.8% naturally derived ingredients from oat lipids to sweet almond oil and the beautiful ‘imperfectly perfect’ packaging design.

Bath Salts for very dry & sensitive skin.

With 99.9% naturally derived ingredients.
Apply a generous handful to a warm bath and relax from the stresses of the day.

The Beauty of Eczema Bath Salts

I’ve been curious about this brand as my skin is on the sensitive side, and have heard great things about The Beauty of Eczema. I love bath salts in general, so I was excited to try these Bath Salts out. These are very gentle and soothing – my skin felt great after my bath! I’d like to try more from this brand as they don’t dry out my skin.

Have you tried anything from The Beauty of Eczema?

Cumulative Empties Sep 2021 to Feb 2022

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Skincare

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have my empties that I’ve accumulated over the past six months. There actually should be more, but I think that a few things got misplaced or recycled.

Skincare:

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Skincare

Made for Me Hydrating Moisturizer and Brightening C Serum (*PR Gifted) – Both the moisturizer and serum are amazing, and I’d would highly recommend both of them. I have a bunch of serums and moisturizers to use up in my stash, but I would purchase these. Reviews are here.

Haircare:

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Haircare

Garnier Fructis Hydrating Treat Conditioner (Aloe Extract) – This is a great budget friendly conditioner. I would re-purchase this eventually – but right now I’m committed to using the Keratinworks line to maintain my hair post salon treatment. Review is here.

EVOLVh Smart Start Leave-In Conditioner (*PR Gifted) and Ultrashine Moisture Shampoo – Both are amazing, and I could see myself purchasing eventually. Reviews are here and here.

Kristin Ess Beach Wave Spray – This is a great product for enhancing my wavy hair and giving it that beachy wave effect. I would re-purchase eventually. Review is here.

Noughty To The Rescue Intense Moisture Treatment – An awesome budget friendly hair mask – I loved this, and would likely repurchase. Review is here.

Bath and Body:

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Bodycare

Haus of Gloi Lily Cake Bubbling Scrub (*This was birthday gift) – I love the bubbling scrubs from Haus of Gloi. I’ve purchased them many times over the years in different scents, and will do so again eventually.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Body Cream – I’ve purchased this several times, and will do so again eventually. It is such an amazing body cream. Review is here.

Naturewell Hydrolyzed Collagen Moisture Cream (*PR gifted) – Another amazing body cream. Great for winter dryness. I would purchase this one as it is super effective and budget friendly. Review is here.

Lowen’s Natural Skincare Salt of the Earth Sea Salt Scrub – I would definitely re-purchase this body scrub. It smells amazing, its super hydrating, and exfoliates really well. Review is here.

Makeup:

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Makeup

Flower Beauty Warrior Princess Mascara – I liked this mascara, scored it a 6.25 out of 7. It was good, but not holy grail for me. Review is here.

Essence Cosmetics Bye Bye Panda Eyes! and #Lashes of the Day Mascaras – Bye Bye Panda Eyes I scored 6.25 out of 7, but I found that this mascara got better over time. I would buy this one again, because it improved, so I’d increase the score to 6.75 out of 7. Lashes of the day scored higher at 6.5 out of 7, but it didn’t get any better over time, so I don’t think I would repurchase. Reviews are here and here.

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara – This mascara scored a 6 out of 7. It was good, but not great for me. I’ve tried and liked other Covergirl mascaras better. Review is here.

So did you finish up many products over the past couple of months?

Nature’s Sunshine Crystal Clear Deodorant & Body Spray Review

Nature's Sunshine Canada Crystal Clear Deodorant and Body Spray

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

If you follow me on InstaGram, you will have seen this in my unboxing of a PR package from Nature’s Sunshine Canada and BlendPr. As with any natural deodorants, both myself and the Mister tested it out [info in italics taken from the Nature’s Sunshine Canada website].

Nature's Sunshine Canada Crystal Clear Deodorant and Body Spray
  • 24-hour maximum odour protection without harmful chemicals
  • No aluminum chlorhydrates or zirconium
  • No parabens
  • No chemical additives
  • Hypoallergenic
  • No animal testing
  • Non-staining
  • Dries quickly
Nature's Sunshine Canada Crystal Clear Deodorant and Body Spray

First of all, I’m going to remind you that the effectiveness of a natural deodorant varies from person to person, based on body chemistry, diet etc. I’ve been using natural deodorants for several years, so I’ve gone through the underarm detox process ages ago. Crystal Clear is unscented, which is great if you aren’t a fan of scented deodorants, or need a scent-free product.

The spray format took a little getting used to for me not to use too much, otherwise it runs down the body. It says to use 4 to 6 sprays – you really don’t need that much for your underarms! The deodorant is super gentle on my underarms – no burning – always a good thing if you have sensitive underarms like I do.

Nature's Sunshine Canada Crystal Clear Deodorant and Body Spray

Crystal Clear Deodorant Spray works pretty well for me, and it works for several hours (around 8 hours, sometimes 10), but then I need a touch up, otherwise it will crap out on me. For the Mister, on the other hand, it worked amazingly well and the effectiveness lasts longer for him.

East Coast Glow The Big Land Northern Lights Iceberg Infused Soap Review

East Coast Glow The Big Land Northern Lights Iceberg Infused Soap

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

East Coast Glow The Big Land Northern Lights Iceberg Infused Soap

If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen that a dear friend of mine brought me a few treats from Newfoundland, and one of them was The Big Land Northern Lights Iceberg Infused Soap from East Coast Glow, made in Bonavista, Newfoundland. I love hand crafted soaps, so I was thrilled when I was given this! [info in italics taken from the East Coast Glow website]

East Coast Glow The Big Land Northern Lights Iceberg Infused Soap

The Big Land features activated charcoal and seaweed, invigorating peppermint essential oil, exfoliating poppy seeds and luscious clay to make a creamy, bubbly bar that will get you moving in the morning! […] Our natural cold process soap is made using pure iceberg water, wild herb-infused plant oils and butters, all blended with pure clay, essential oils and wildcrafted botanicals to create a high lathering, yet nourishing bar. We use no synthetic ingredients, preservatives, parabens, fragrances or colours in our soap – just the good stuff.

East Coast Glow The Big Land Northern Lights Iceberg Infused Soap

This soap has a creamy lather and doesn’t make my skin feel tight or dry. And the scent of this soap is absolutely amazing – the peppermint scent is so uplifting! Especially great for a morning wake-up shower or bath.

Cumulative Empties – May to July 2021 Part 2

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today we have part 2 of my cumulative empties from May to July – bath and body and haircare empties. I’ll let you know if I plan to eventually repurchase or not, and link to my original reviews.

Bath and body:

Empties May to Jul 2021

Haus of Gloi Bubbling Scrubs in Glow and Splendiferous – I was given a gift card for my birthday (from a dear friend) at the beginning of the pandemic, and these were two of the treats that I’d gotten with it. The Bubbling Scrubs are amazing – I’ve been purchasing these for longer than I’ve been blogging. Would definitely purchase again. I have a few more in my stash.

Lowen’s Natural Skincare Bubble Paste – I purchased this, but I have gotten PR from them in the past. Will definitely re-purchase this, it is amazing and only contains three ingredients!

NuWorld Botanicals Multi-Mineral Bath Soak in Meditation – I won this in a giveaway from NuWorld and Cat from MyLipAddiction, and I’ve gotten PR from NuWorld in the past. These bath salts are amazing, and I would purchase them. I’ve tried and reviewed the Stress Relief version of these salts.

Haircare:

Empties May to Jul 2021

Oneka Cedar & Sage Shampoo – This is a nice shampoo, but my hair is too dry these days, so I would not re-purchase this formula, but would likely try one geared for dry hair. The cedar scent is so good though.

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Shine Shampoo & Conditioner – These were PR gifted. Really amazing. I wish that I could buy this brand here in Montreal.

Have you tried any of these?

Pleasant Pits Unscented Natural Deodorant Review

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

When Kimia, the owner of Pleasant Pits, reached out via InstaGram, she asked me if I would like to try their Unscented Natural Deodorant and since I only use natural deodorants, of course I said yes! Pleasant Pits is an Ontario based company. [info in italics taken from the Pleasant Pits website]

Pleasant Pits Unscented Natural Deodorant

In the past few years, we have become increasingly conscious about our health and the environment. And we’re constantly looking for alternatives to products that are scientifically proven to harm our bodies and/or the planet; especially, those which are used everyday, like soap, toothpaste, and deodorant.

Much to our surprise, we realized that there is no natural deodorant available in Canada that checks all the boxes, yet delivers a smooth and delightful texture. So we decided to make one, and we believe we’ve nailed it.

Our goal is to deliver quality products that allow for a healthy & sustainable lifestyle. And we’re already working on products beyond deodorants.

Pleasant Pits Unscented Natural Deodorant

Let’s take a look at the Unscented Natural Deodorant:

A long-lasting odor protection deodorant that checks all the boxes:

 Aluminium-free
 Paraben-free
 Plastic-free
 Cruelty-free (vegan)
 Baking soda-free
 Fragrance-free

Ingredients: Organic coconut MCT oil, Arrowroot powder, Magnesium hydroxide, Mango butter, Candelilla wax, Organic coconut oil, Diatomaceous earth, Cetyl alcohol, Avocado oil

As always, both myself and the Mister have tested out this baking-soda free natural deodorant – just to see how it works for two different body chemistries. I have to say that this is the smoothest natural deodorant, it applies so easily with no dragging or tugging. It feels moisturizing on the skin. I also love the plastic free packaging, it is sturdy and easy to use – just push up the deodorant from the bottom!

This baking soda free formula actually works! Really well! It doesn’t crap out on me, even after my sweaty cardio workout! Even the Mister found that it kept him from stinking during the recent heat wave that we are having here in Montreal. So far it is the longest wearing and most effective baking soda free natural deodorant that I’ve ever used!
