Cumulative Empties – May to July 2021 Part 2

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today we have part 2 of my cumulative empties from May to July – bath and body and haircare empties. I’ll let you know if I plan to eventually repurchase or not, and link to my original reviews.

Bath and body:

Empties May to Jul 2021

Haus of Gloi Bubbling Scrubs in Glow and Splendiferous – I was given a gift card for my birthday (from a dear friend) at the beginning of the pandemic, and these were two of the treats that I’d gotten with it. The Bubbling Scrubs are amazing – I’ve been purchasing these for longer than I’ve been blogging. Would definitely purchase again. I have a few more in my stash.

Lowen’s Natural Skincare Bubble Paste – I purchased this, but I have gotten PR from them in the past. Will definitely re-purchase this, it is amazing and only contains three ingredients!

NuWorld Botanicals Multi-Mineral Bath Soak in Meditation – I won this in a giveaway from NuWorld and Cat from MyLipAddiction, and I’ve gotten PR from NuWorld in the past. These bath salts are amazing, and I would purchase them. I’ve tried and reviewed the Stress Relief version of these salts.

Empties May to Jul 2021

Oneka Cedar & Sage Shampoo – This is a nice shampoo, but my hair is too dry these days, so I would not re-purchase this formula, but would likely try one geared for dry hair. The cedar scent is so good though.

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Shine Shampoo & Conditioner – These were PR gifted. Really amazing. I wish that I could buy this brand here in Montreal.

Have you tried any of these?

Thanks for reading have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: Post contains a mix of products that were gifts, PR, giveaway winnings and purchases by me. All have been identified. My opinion is always my own.

Pleasant Pits Unscented Natural Deodorant Review & Giveaway

Pleasant Pits Unscented Natural Deodorant

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

When Kimia, the owner of Pleasant Pits, reached out via InstaGram, she asked me if I would like to try their Unscented Natural Deodorant and since I only use natural deodorants, of course I said yes! Pleasant Pits is an Ontario based company. [info in italics taken from the Pleasant Pits website]

Pleasant Pits Unscented Natural Deodorant

In the past few years, we have become increasingly conscious about our health and the environment. And we’re constantly looking for alternatives to products that are scientifically proven to harm our bodies and/or the planet; especially, those which are used everyday, like soap, toothpaste, and deodorant.

Much to our surprise, we realized that there is no natural deodorant available in Canada that checks all the boxes, yet delivers a smooth and delightful texture. So we decided to make one, and we believe we’ve nailed it.

Our goal is to deliver quality products that allow for a healthy & sustainable lifestyle. And we’re already working on products beyond deodorants.

Pleasant Pits Unscented Natural Deodorant

Let’s take a look at the Unscented Natural Deodorant:

A long-lasting odor protection deodorant that checks all the boxes:

 Cruelty-free (vegan)
 Baking soda-free

Ingredients: Organic coconut MCT oil, Arrowroot powder, Magnesium hydroxide, Mango butter, Candelilla wax, Organic coconut oil, Diatomaceous earth, Cetyl alcohol, Avocado oil

Pleasant Pits Unscented Natural Deodorant

As always, both myself and the Mister have tested out this baking-soda free natural deodorant – just to see how it works for two different body chemistries. I have to say that this is the smoothest natural deodorant, it applies so easily with no dragging or tugging. It feels moisturizing on the skin. I also love the plastic free packaging, it is sturdy and easy to use – just push up the deodorant from the bottom!

Pleasant Pits Unscented Natural Deodorant

This baking soda free formula actually works! Really well! It doesn’t crap out on me, even after my sweaty cardio workout! Even the Mister found that it kept him from stinking during the recent heat wave that we are having here in Montreal. So far it is the longest wearing and most effective baking soda free natural deodorant that I’ve ever used!

Pleasant Pits gifted me three deodorants to give away to my readers, so here’s my rules: 1. Must be subscribed to my blog (I will check), 2. Must be Canadian (sorry international readers, I will do a giveaway for you another time), and 3. Please comment with what province you live in. The giveaway will close on midnight EST, on July 7th, and I will select three winners via random number generator, and announce it on the 8th.

Nuworld Botanicals Aromatherapy Personals Sports Therapy Mineral Replenish Body Scrub Review

Nuworld Botanicals Sports Therapy Mineral-Replenish Body Salt Scrub

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

I recently won a giveaway on Instagram from Cat Forsley (My Lip Addiction) and Nuworld Botanicals – it was a huge box of goodies, some of which I’ve tried before as I have received a PR package from Nuworld a few years ago. [info in italics taken from the Nuworld website]

Nuworld Botanicals Sports Therapy Mineral-Replenish Body Salt Scrub

Sports Therapy Mineral-Replenish Body Scrub is unique synergy blend of pure essential oils known to be useful in relieving sore muscles and joints including certified organic Wintergreen, Camphor and Pine.

Nuworld Botanicals Sports Therapy Mineral-Replenish Body Salt Scrub

A sumptuous blend of skin polishing natural dead sea salts and pink himalayan rock salts wrapped in moisturizing organic jojoba, avocado, argan and sweet almond oils. Gently exfoliates, conditions and softens the skin- delivering a healthy replenishment of essential minerals and Vitamins A, C and E. Delicious fruity extracts of watermelon, strawberry and banana help clarify, soothe, and tone the skin while Sports Therapy essential oil blend soothes sore, achy muscles and joints.

Nuworld Botanicals Sports Therapy Mineral-Replenish Body Salt Scrub

I’m a huge lover of body scrubs, and this one is SO GOOD – especially after a workout. It exfoliates, it hydrates and it helps with soreness. And it smells amazing!

The salt based scrub is perfect, not too soft and not too scrubby, gentle yet effective.

Are you a salt scrub or a sugar scrub fan? I love both.

Thanks for reading have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: In case you missed it at the beginning, I won this in an InstaGram giveaway – thanks Cat, thanks Nuworld Botanicals!

NatureWell Beauty Moisture Cream Reviews – Collagen and Vitamin C

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I’m reviewing two products that were gifted to me from NatureWell Beauty that are launching at Canadian Walmart stores. The launch is for four moisturizing body creams: The Coconut MCT Moisturizing Cream, Collagen Intense Moisturizing Cream, Vitamin C Brightening Moisturizing Cream, and Retinol Advanced Moisturizing Cream.[info in italics taken from the NatureWell Beauty website]

At NatureWell, we believe in the power of better. Feeling better in your skin. Feeling better about your choices and embracing self-care your personal journey, not someone else’s destination.

We are a line of self care & wellness products dedicated to simplifying your quest
to feel just a little bit better everyday. Our range of effective, easy-to-use products provide moisture, nourishment and protection when and where you need it most.

  • Plant-Based
  • Gluten-Free
  • Non-GMO
  • Soy Free
  • No Artificial Flavors
  • No Artificial Colors
  • No Animal Testing

I received two jars of their moisturizing creams – the Collagen Intense Moisturizing Cream and the Vitamin C Brightening Moisture Cream. The jars are quite large, at 10oz, and super budget friendly ranging from $18 to $20 CAD.

Let’s look at the Hydrolyzed Collagen Moisturizing Cream:

NatureWell® Collagen Moisturizing Cream moisturizes with a potent blend of Collagen and antioxidants. This effective cream immediately hydrates, improves surface plumpness, and tames flakes for ultimately smooth, supple skin. Naturally rich in amino acids and peptides, collagen supplements the skin with nutrients for optimally healthy-looking, hydrated skin.

This moisture cream is so luxurious! It is thick but fast absorbing, non-greasy and keeps my skin hydrated for so long after applying. The scent is very minimal, which I really appreciate. My skin feels so soft and smooth after using!

And now let’s look at the Vitamin C Brightening Moisture Cream:

NatureWell® Vitamin C Brightening Moisture Cream provides a multi-action approach that works to reveal more radiant, healthier looking skin. Formulated with advanced micro-encapsulated Vitamin C for improved efficacy and enhanced delivery, this cream helps improve overall tone and texture. Absorbs easily without a greasy residue. Developed for all skin types.

Another beautiful cream. It also has a thick, hydrating texture, that is non-greasy and quick absorbing. My skin does really well with Vitamin C, the brightening effect is real! It too, has a very mild scent.

Both creams can be used for both face and body – I tested them on my body, as the texture is thicker than my preference for warm weather face creams. I love both of these Moisture Creams, as you can see, I’ve already used quite a bit already!

Have you tired either of these?

Thanks for reading have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: In case you missed it at the beginning, this was a PR package. However, my opinion is always my own and is based on my personal experience using these products.

Unboxing & First Impressions – CAUSEBOX Spring 2021

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I’m sharing my unboxing and first impressions of my Spring 2021 CAUSEBOX. If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen my unboxing, but here I share my first impressions, and total value of the subscription box. [info in italics taken from CAUSEBOX]

This quarter’s artwork was done by Charlotte Molas.

I have a basic subscription, so I don’t get to choose the items that I receive. But I like the element of surprise.

Now lets take a look at what I received:

Product 1 – FEED Projects Canvas Market Tote $108 USD

All subscribers received the tote, in one of three colours – glacial grey, coastal stripe or sea blue. I received glacial grey. I was excited about this reusable shopping bag, it is a great size, has loads of pockets, and is sturdy and well made. I will be using this for groceries / errands.

Product 2 – Palm + Perkins Set of 4 Upcycled Napkins $38 USD

For the second product, there were three possibilities: the Upcycled Napkins, a Nimble CHAMP Lite Portable Charger, or the DIFF Charitable Eyewear Finn Sea Tortoise Blue Light Glasses. I received the napkins – they’re made from upcycled cotton and plastic water bottles – they feel almost like a linen blend fabric, they’ll be well used in our house as I needed to replace a few of the cloth napkins that we’ve had in rotation.

I would have liked to receive the portable charger as well, this is something that I would definitely use. The blue light glasses, not so much, as I wear prescription glasses (with the blue light filter).

Product 3 – This Works Stress Check Sleep Spray $25 USD

For the third product, all subscribers received this aromatherapy bed spray. It smells really nice, and I will definitely put it to use.

Product 4 – Glass Ladder & Co Katherine Tech Organizer Roll $35

For the fourth product there were three possibilities: the Tech Organizer Roll, the Stojo Collapsible 16 oz cup, or Maji Sports Stretch & Exercise Bands. I received the Tech Organizer which I will definitely use, because I hate having all my chargers get tangled up, or misplaced.

I also would have liked to get either the travel cup or exercise bands, and would have used both.

Product 5 – Three Ships Lip Treatment Kit $30 USD

For the fifth product there there three possibilities: the Lip Kit, a PUR Lit Mist Illuminating Setting Spray, or a Province Apothecary Regenerating Exfoliator + Resurfacing Mask. I received the Lip Kit and as a lip balm addict, I couldn’t be more thrilled. It contains a lip scrub and a lip mask.

I also would not have minded getting either of the two alternates, but the Lip Kit was made for me!

Product 6 – Adesse New York Power Couple Nail Care Duo $36 USD

All subscribers received the nail care duo. It contains a Nail Growth Optimizer and a Cuticle Oil. Because of the past year of constant hand washing and hand sanitizer use, my nails need strengthening and hydration, so this is perfect for me.

The Spring 2021 box cost me $62.90 USD ($54.95 + shipping to Canada) which works out to $81.89 CAD based on the exchange rate that I paid ($1.3019), so the value of this box is $272 USD which works out to $354.12 CAD! The yearly subscription which you pay in full works out to be cheaper per box and you get customization choices, but I’m liking the element of surprise so far!

I’m super happy with everything that I received! All are things that I will use. My only complaint is that it takes forever for the boxes to ship out!

Reviews to follow for the Sleep Spray, Lip Kit and Nail Care Duo once I’ve had a chance to try them out!

Do you have a CAUSEBOX subscription?

Thanks for reading have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: I pay for this subscription.

Zion Health Scalp & Hair Scrub and Claydry Deodorant Reviews

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude! Today I am reviewing two products that were sent to me to try out from Zion Health / Adama Minerals, the Scalp & Hair Scrub and Claydry Deodorant [info in italics taken from the Zion Health website]

Let’s look at the Deep Cleansing Scalp & Hair Scrub in the Green Apple with Sea Salt formula:

Dissolve build-up. Balance pH levels. Restore lustre and integrity.

Bring fragile, processed hair back to life. The combination of gentle exfoliation and penetrating nutrients purifies the scalp to create the perfect environment for healthy, resilient hair to grow. While removing a range of impurities and excess oils, clay minerals and sea salt simultaneously stimulate the healing and protecting functions of skin cells. Each strand of hair will be left cleansed and deeply nourished, resulting in lasting shine and flexibility.

This is a really nice scalp and hair scrub, and it smells so fresh – the Green Apple scent is amazing! My scalp and hair feel super clean, but not stripped. Gentle yet effective! The recommended usage is once a week, but I tend to go a little longer between uses as I try to only wash my hair twice a week, so approximately every third or fourth wash I’ll use it.

Now let’s take a look at the Claydry Deodorant in the Elderberry scent, Bold formula:

EXTRA STRENGTH BOLD PROTECTION Absorb odor with ClayClayDry absorbs odor and toxins with a special type of healing clay called Calcium Montmorillonite Clay.

Ingredient Benefits: • Arrowroot has moisture absorbing properties. Arrowroot is anti-inflammatory and also can work as an antiseptic, making it perfect for irritated areas such as burns, rashes and sores.• Ionic Clay Minerals contain more than 57 trace minerals to help absorb odor and balance skin pH.• Witch Hazel is a natural astringent commonly used to help absorb excess oil from the skin.• Chamomile Extract contains natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.• Bergamot Oil is rich in minerals and Vitamin C; well known for its natural anti-bacterial properties.

Both myself and the Mister have been trying out the Claydry Deodorant. It works really well for both of us, and even though it has baking soda in it, it does not cause as much irritation for me as other baking soda based deodorants, likely due to the arrowroot and chamomile.

It kept me smelling great even after a sweaty cardio workout! The elderberry scent is really great, a unisex tart berry scent.

Zion Health / Adama Minerals has kindly given me a discount code for 10% off – the code is JODI and can be used on the Adama Minerals website.

Thanks for reading have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: In case you missed it at the beginning, these products were PR gifted for review purposes. This is not a sponsored post, and the discount code is not an affiliate code. However, my opinion is always my own, based on my personal experiences with the products.

Routine Moon Sisters Natural Deodorant Stick Review

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I’m reviewing the Natural Deodorant Stick from Routine in the Moon Sisters scent that was purchased recently from Routine is a Canadian brand – this is my first time trying anything from this brand [info in italics taken from the Routine website]

Whimsical nostalgia, neroli & roses.
Wearing nothin’ but the moonlight,
summer swimming, striking poses.
Scent Profile: Floral & Grounding Predominant Scent: Rose & Neroli (low key floral with nostalgic undertones of summer) Formula: CHARCOAL (with prebiotics) Essential Oils: Lavender, Rose, Neroli, Champa, Vetiver, and Peppermint.

The charcoal detoxifies, magnesium relaxes the pits to reduce stress sweats and prebiotics keep your skin healthy. There is a touch of baking soda for added deodorizing- just enough to keep most sensitive skinned people from getting irritation.

This natural deodorant WORKS really well. Although it says that it only has a touch of baking soda in it, it is just enough that if I use it seven days in a row, it will trigger some irritation – but that is normal for me with any natural deodorant if it has baking soda. So I alternate using with a baking soda free deodorant to prevent reaction / give my skin a break.

Because this deodorant contains charcoal it is grey in colour, so I wouldn’t want to use it with a tank top as it does leave a faint grey cast on the skin. The scent is really nice – not too strong – I love rose and neroli, such a fresh and light floral scent!

I plan to try their baking soda free version the next time I’m stocking up on things from

Are you a fan of natural deodorant? Have you tried this one?

Thanks for reading have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: I purchased this!

Bloomiss Tension Balm and Tinted Lip Balm Reviews

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen in my stories that I recently received a PR package from Bloomiss – they’re a Canadian brand that specializes in beauty, skincare and aromatherapy. I received the Tension Balm, a Natural Tinted Lip Balm, and the Blooming Lashes Mascara. Today I’m reviewing the Tension Balm and the Tinted Lip Balm – my review of the Mascara will be later this week. [info in italics taken from the Bloomiss website]

Founded in 2016 as a natural organic beauty, skincare and aromatherapy company, Bloomiss products were created to help every woman live their life in full bloom. The name Bloomiss was a word created to encompass a (Blooming) beautiful woman (Miss) when she is striving to be her very best – BLOOMISS.

The Bloomiss product line is a mix of three elements; beauty, skincare, and aromatherapy created to feed your skin and body, healthy natural nourishing ingredients that have results you can see as well as luxury indulgent products to treat yourself and the ones you love.

Tension Balm:

Relieves the tension and pressure in your neck, head, and achy muscles in our jumbo tube.  Do you have a sore stiff neck…head…shoulders full of tension from daily life? Tired of taking ibuprofen and muscle relaxers in large doses to relax your tension and muscle stiffness.  We have developed our tension balm stick for you to take on the go and to help you with your tension in a natural way. Our tension balm is 100% natural to relieve the tension and pressure on your neck, shoulders, head or any achy body parts.

Anything that helps relieve soreness / stiffness without popping pain killers is welcomed. I really love the giant tube for easy application.

The standout ingredients are camphor, menthol and arnica – arnica works amazingly well for joint stiffness and pain. You can also use this Tension Balm for headaches. This stuff works really well to provide relief!

Natural Tinted Lip Balm:

100% Natural Beauty Products, All natural minerals are used to make this lip butter smooth, silky and extremely moisturizing. A best selling natural tinted lip balm that will moisturize, nourish and protect your lips while giving you beautiful lip colour! A light mint scent  A  tint of poppies and peaches gives your lips a glistening colour and look. Paraben-Free, Cruelty-Free, Chemical Free, Dye Free

Ingredients:  Organic Castor Oil, Organic Beeswax,  Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Vanilla Flavor, Organic Peppermint Oil, Organic Aloe Vera Oil, Mixed Tocopherols (Vitamin E), Titanium Dioxide,  Iron Oxide, Mica

This is a really great lip balm – the tint is really nice too. It doesn’t feel waxy or sticky. Very hydrating – I’m a lip balm addict, so hydration is a must!

I have an affiliate code, so if you are interested in buying either of these (or anything else, for that matter) I will earn a commission, but please don’t feel any pressure. I’m not a fan of pushy sales people!

Have you tried either of these? Do you like pain relief balms / creams? Are you also a lip balm addict?

Thanks for reading have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: In case you missed it at the beginning, these products were gifted, and yes, there is an affiliate code – but my opinion is always my own.

Empties – February 2021

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I’m sharing my empties for February. I didn’t finish up a lot this month, but progress is progress when it comes to using up my stash and not letting things go to waste! Let’s take a closer look, and I’ll let you know if the products are something that I will re-purchase (either right away, or eventually) or not at all. I’ll also link to the original reviews.

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular CC Cream SPF 30 – I love this, and would buy it again eventually. I have a few on my list that I want to try with a higher SPF, so it will be wish-listed for now. Review is here.

Derma MD Glamour Lip Plump – this was a PR product from several years ago! I really liked it, but it got lost in my stash and its really time to let it go! Review is here.

Poetic Blend The Timeless Oil – I won this in a giveaway. I loved this facial oil! I’m not sure if it is still available or not, but if it is, I would buy it once I use up my facial oil stash. Review is here.

Goldfaden MD Facial Detox Clarify + Clear Mask – I think that this might be my second sample of this facial mask. Really great for a spot treatment for an emergency breakout as it is targeted more for oily / acne prone skin, but I’d buy this as it WORKS! Review is here.

Sothys La Creme Yeux-Lèvres (Eye and Lip Cream) – This was a PR gifted product. The jar was huge, and it took me forever to use it up because you only need the tiniest amount. Because it is such a rich eye cream, I only used it at night. It is an expensive product, so it doesn’t work my budget right now. Review is here.

Be On Me Face Cream Sensitive – This was PR gifted. Such a great facial cream. Hydrating without feeling heavy or greasy. Until I finish up a few more moisturizers in my stash, it will go on my wishlist. Review is here.

Lowen’s Super Salve – PR gifted. This SAVED my poor dry hands this winter. I plan to buy another jar of this stuff as soon as I finish up a few more salves from my stash. Review is here.

UnderCarriage Deodorant Cream No BS formula, Gerouli scent – Already re-purchased a replacement! This is probably the best baking soda free natural deodorant that I’ve tried thus far. It lasts longer than most, and even the Mister likes using it! Review is here.

Have you finished up much this month? Thanks for reading have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: This post contains a mix of products that I purchased, and PR gifted items, all are identified. However, my opinion is my own whether a product has been purchased or gifted.
