Today I have something a little different to share with you – a selection of photos from my visit to the Thierry Mugler Coutuissme exhibition at the Musèe des Beaux-Arts Montrèal (Montreal Museum of Fine Arts). If you follow me on Instagram, you might recognize these photos from my Stories. [info in italics taken from the MBAM website]
Premiering in Montreal, Thierry Mugler: Couturissime brings together more than 150 garments made between 1977 and 2014, most of which are being shown for the first time, as well as a wealth of unpublished archival documents and sketches. One hundred or so photographs by such world-renowned fashion photographers as Helmut Newton, Sarah Moon, Pierre et Gilles, David LaChapelle, Paolo Roversi, Herb Ritts, Dominique Issermann, Guy Bourdin and Richard Avedon, to name a few, round out the show. Each of the immersive galleries has been designed in collaboration with talented artist-designers and set designers, including Michel Lemieux, Philipp Fürhofer and Rodeo FX.
If you get a chance to go see this exhibition in person, you should! I’m probably going to go back for a second visit – so many beautiful details to look at!
Thanks for reading,
Disclosure: All photos taken by me, and I paid for my ticket.
I have something a little different than my usual cruelty free beauty and skincare reviews – today I’d like to talk about Montreal company Jeane & Jax [info in italics taken from the Jeane & Jax website, and the photo below is also from the website]
jeane & jax is a luxury vegan handbag brand that encompasses the principles of ethical fashion while delivering handbags of quality, style, and affordability.
Our mission is to show consumers that you can be just as fashionable and on trend without causing harm to animals.
Our designs are inspired by Montreal’s multicultural surroundings and artistic flair. Our brand represents an elevated and casual lifestyle driven to compliment any mood or outfit.
jeane & jax is committed to using the highest quality vegan materials and all our hardware is free of any hazardous metals. Our collections are ethically sourced and fall in line with our dedication to social responsibility.
I stumbled across them on InstaGram, and have been eyeing several of their bags for months before finally taking the plunge and ordering myself the Luna Tassel Crossbody bag as a replacement for my old Matt & Nat Crossbody bag. I purchased it as a Christmas present for myself during their Black Friday sale.
Crossbody bag with adjustable strap and tassel ornament. Magnetic snap flap closure. Interior phone pouch and zip pocket. Back slit pocket with magnetic snap. Gunmetal hardware. Vegan leather 100% Polyurethane. Dimensions: 10.5″(W) x 9″(T) x 3.5″(D)
Colors: Black, Slate, Rosewood
The vegan leather is very soft and looks and feels luxurious. The construction is solid and the hardware (zippers, magnetic snaps, and tassel) is sturdy. I think that the removable tassel is really cute and gives it an extra special touch. I prefer crossbody bags for daily use, and I like that the strap is adjustable. I just love it!
I’m very happy with my bag, and am looking forward to buying myself another one soon!
Disclosure: I purchased this!

Today I have something a little different – a peek at the clothes that I bought last weekend. I went shopping with the goal of purchasing one or two blouses that would work with what I already had in my closet. I haven’t bought myself any clothes in so long! Here’s what I got (all at 20% off):
1. Printed jersey t-shirt
2. Flowy printed blouse (Anna Glover X H+M Collab) – I love this type of blouse with jeans, skirts or shorts. I wore this blouse on Wednesday to a client meeting with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans.
3. Floral printed collar shirt – it is weird, I don’t usually go for prints that often, but this season I saw SO MANY prints that I really liked. Again, I can see wearing this one with several jeans, skirts or even shorts in my wardrobe. This photo does not do the print justice at all.
4. Printed shirt dress (Anna Glover X H+M Collab) – This not something that I would normally try on, let alone buy, but I really liked the print and decided to try it on and LOVED it! I can picture wearing this with a cute pair of flats or sandals (or more likely flip flops).
Bonus – a little birthday gift to me from me:
Every year, around my birthday, Softmoc has a Friends and Family sale (usually 25% discount I think), so I bought myself a new pair of Vans slip-on sneakers to replace my old pair. I think I had my last pair for three years and they were so worn out!
So there you have it, my mini clothing haul. Hope you enjoyed something a little different than my usual reviews.
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!
Disclosure: All were purchased by me for me. Thanks me!
