Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel Review

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I’m reviewing the Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel that came in my Fall CAUSEBOX. [info in italics taken from the Aromatherapy Associates website]

Our best selling De-Stress Muscle Gel first cools inflamed muscles before imparting a deep, comforting warmth. Invigorating Black Pepper and warming Ginger are the perfect antidote to an intense workout, a demanding day, or in-flight heavy legs, leaving muscles soothed and relaxed.

Not only is this muscle gel great for sore muscles, it smells amazing with the black pepper, ginger, rosemary and lavender – much like the De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil which I have previously tried and absolutely loved!

You can also use it on the back of your neck or temples when you have a headache!

INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water), Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Water, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Water, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavendar) Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Melaleuca Leucadendron Cajaputi (Cajput) Oil, Parfum**, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Leaf Oil, Juniperus Communis (Juniper) Fruit Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Pinus Sylvestris (Pine) Leaf Oil, Piper Nigrum (Black Pepper) Seed Oil, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Citral*, Coumarin*, Geraniol*, Limonene*, Linalool*. *Natural Essential Oil Contents **Natural Plant Extracts

Have you tried this Muscle Gel? Do you have a favourite one?

CAUSEBOX Fall 2020 Unboxing and First Impressions

Hello hello! Welcome to / Welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I’m sharing my unboxing and first impressions of the Fall Box from CAUSEBOX – this is a quarterly seasonal subscription box [info in italics taken from the CAUSEBOX website]

FIVE CORNERSTONES DEFINE EVERYTHING THAT WE DO AT CAUSEBOX. WE ARE: COMMUNITY FOCUSED, ETHICALLY MADE, ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS, FOR WOMEN, AND IMPACT DRIVEN.

Let’s take a look was inside – For most of the six products there is an either / or selection – I highlighted what I received:

Product #1 – Bathen Waffle Bathrobe ($90 USD):

I received the Bathrobe in Mint – It is not my favourite colour in the world, but the robe itself is beautiful, and it is handwoven, in soft 100% cotton. I really wanted a lightweight bathrobe, so I know that I will use this! Because it is cotton, I can always dye it another colour. Because the fabric is a waffle weave, it tends to contract after washing – this is not fabric shrinkage as it can easily be re-shaped when wet and dried flat, or ironed into shape when dry. I hung this to dry without shaping just to see how much it would contract.

Product #2 – Tease Tea Glass 3-in-1 Tea & Fruit Tumbler ($39 USD):

This can be used for tea, coffee, or fruit infused water. As the weather gets colder, I tend to drink tisanes / caffeine free tea so this will be well used by me. It is composed of a double wall glass tumbler, removable stainless steel infuser, bamboo lid and insulated sleeve. I love that it has an insulated sleeve, because not only will it keep my drink hot (or cold), it will protect it from getting knocked about! Review to follow once I’ve tested it out!

Product #3 – Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel ($39 USD):

Another product that I know that I will use as I’ve tried and reviewed the De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil previously. It smells amazing and I love muscle balms! Review to follow once I’ve tried it out!

Product #4 – Buzzy Seeds Basil Grow Kit ($10 USD):

I will be giving this to the Mister to take care of as he’s the one with the green thumb. I love fresh basil, so hopefully we will have success growing it!

Product #5 – Core Bamboo Serve Set ($35 USD):

Absolutely thrilled to get this! I love serving sets – even if it is just for myself and the Mister. This will definitely be well used in our house!

Product #6 – Way of Will Brightening Face Serum ($37.50 USD):

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know that facial serums are one of my favourite skincare items. I’ve never tried anything from this brand, so I’m quite excited! And this is Canadian brand that is new to me – AWESOME! Full review to follow once I’d had a chance to test it out.

The Fall Box cost me $62.90 USD ($54.95 + shipping to Canada) which is $84.45 CAD based on the exchange rate that I paid ($1.3426), so the value of this box is $250.50 USD which works out to $336.32 CAD! The yearly subscription is cheaper and you get customization choices, but I’m liking the element of surprise so far!

Have you tried CAUSEBOX? There’s a limited time promo bonus for signing up, if you are interested, here’s my blog post with details and link.

Monthly Empties March 2019 – Part 2

March Empties - Skincare

Hello, hello!

Today I have the second part of my Monthly Empties – all my skincare finishes. Part one was all of my bath and haircare empties. And I will comment on if I will be purchasing or not, and link to my original reviews.

Let’s take a look:

March Empties - Skincare

Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser Sample – I got this as a free sample in my last well.ca order. The sample was too small for a full review, but I liked it enough that I want to buy the full size to really test it out.

Nova Scotia Fisherman Sea Kelp Lip Balms x2 – I finished one and the Mister finished the other. Great lip balm for winter. I have a ton of lip balms in my stash, so I have no plans on repurchasing for awhile. Review is here.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Sun Shield Unscented SPF 28, and Sun Shield Clear Stick SPF 50  *These were PR Samples* I loved these sunscreens, and thankfully they both were nearly finished when I discovered that they were past their expiration dates. I have other sunscreen to use up, so no plans to purchase replacements at this time, but I would highly recommend their sunscreens, as they’re non-greasy and worked well for my sensitive skin. Reviews are here and here.

March Empties - Skincare

Bite Beauty Lip Balm – Another great lip balm, although I prefer their Lip Mask. Again, no plans to repurchase right now, I have a stash of lip balms to use up. Review is here.

Metta Comforting Hand Balm – This was a lifesaver for the winter months! It came in my Petit Vour subscription, and I’m sad that I finished it already. This is going on my wishlist for the fall since I don’t need a heavy duty hand cream in the warmer months. Review is here.

Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Revitalizing Face Oil – Another Petit Vour subscription sample. This was a nice facial oil – hydrating but not heavy or greasy. I’ve no plans to purchase, as I have several facial oils in my stash to use up. Review is here.

March Empties - Skincare

Poetic Blend The Warrior Serum – I won this in an InstaGram giveaway. This serum is one of the best facial serums that I’ve ever used! My skin LOVED it. I’m hoping to buy a replacement soon. Review is here.

Little Barn Apothecary Aloe + Rosewater Balancing Mist – Another one from my Petit Vour subscription. I love facial mists, especially rose based ones. I have two more in my stash to use up, so no plans to buy a full size right now. Review is here.

So there you have it, I’m pretty happy to have finished up more things from my stash.

Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Revitalising Face Oil Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Hydrating Revitalising Face Oil from Aromatherapy Associates that came in my January Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour January 2018

This facial oil nourishes and revitalizes the skin like a rich cream, yet absorbs instantly like a serum. This blend of luxurious essential oils and natural plant extracts restores vitality to dull skin. Frankincense essential oil helps to rejuvenate whilst Rose oil smooths and firms. Skin is left appearing radiant and glowing. Suitable for all skin types, perfect for dry or mature skin that needs a boost of vitality.

This facial oil is beautiful – super hydrating. And it really absorbs into the skin quickly without feeling heavy or greasy. I’ve been using it in the mornings after cleansing, before applying moisturizer. I haven’t experienced any problems in using this with my makeup.

Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Revitalising Face Oil

100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Fusanus Spicatus (Australian Sandalwood) Oil, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Oil, Parfum**, Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Oil, Tocopherol. | *Certified Organic / Natural Essential Oils.

It does however contain perfume in its ingredients – but it has not triggered any skin reactions, thankfully.

The full size sells for $64 USD for 15ml (0.5 fl oz) so it is a little on the pricy side. The sample value is listed as $15.20 USD for 3ml (0.1 fl oz). I have several facial oils in my stash, hopefully I’ll be able to use them all up before any of them go off!

Petit Vour January 2018

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Petit Vour January 2018 Unboxing

Hello, hello!

My January Petit Vour Box finally arrived this week, let’s take a look inside!

Petit Vour January 2018

Just a reminder, that the box is $23 USD per box for Canada (it is $18 USD per month for the US, and $25 USD per month for all other countries). I’m using the exchange rate that I paid this month’s box in calculating the overall value – I paid $29.60 CAD for the January box.

Petit Vour January 2018

Andalou Naturals Brighten & Tighten Hydro Serum Facial Mask with Vitamin C – My skin seems to do really well with vitamin C, so I’m looking forward to trying this shhet mask out.

Petit Vour January 2018

Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Revitalising Face Oil – In the previous month’s box, I received a bath and shower oil from Aromatherapy Associates and really loved it, so I’m really looking forward to testing out this facial oil. It is a blend that includes Frankincense, borage and rose (all three things that I love).

Petit Vour January 2018

We Love Eyes Tea Tree Eyelid & Eyelash Foaming Cleanser – This sounds really great, but tea tree oil is an ingredient that often irritates my skin, so I’m going to give this to someone who is not sensitive to this as I don’t want to risk a reaction.

Petit Vour January 2018

K Voss Cinnamon Lip Plumper – A lip balm AND plumper all in one. As a lip balm addict who also loves the tingle feeling of lip plumpers, I am so excited about this one!

Petit Vour January 2018

Total value of this month’s box $58.20 USD ($74.89 CAD)! Even though I’ll be giving away the eye wash, I think that I got my money’s worth this month! Reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to try things out.

All products in the Petit Vour Box are cruelty free and vegan, how awesome is that?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: I pay for this monthly subscription. And yup, my opinions are always very much my own.

Empties – January 2018

Hello, hello!

I’m still working my way through my stash, and managed to finish up a few more things in January. There are a few more that are *so close* to being finished, so they’ll be in next month’s empties post.

January 2018 Empties

Hair and body care products:

January 2018 Empties

Maui Moisture Strength & Anti-Breakage Agave Shampoo & Conditioner – If you’ve been following my blog for awhile, you’ll know that I’ve tried out several of the shampoo and conditioner sets from Maui Moisture over the past year or so. I think that this one is my favourite thus far. I’m currently trying out a set from another cruelty free brand, so I won’t be repurchasing right away. Review is here.

Haus of Gloi Pumpkin Butter in The Briar Path – This is one of their seasonal scents, so it isn’t always available, and not easily replaceable right now. I’ve spoken about my love for their Pumpkin Butters many times. I think that this might be one of the last full size jars in my stash.

Skincare and aromatherapy:

January 2018 Empties

Matter Lip Balm – This was given to me for my birthday, and it went everywhere with me in my bag as it was attached to my key ring. I’m a lip balm addict, so you know that I loved this peppermint and orange oil based balm! I have a few more lip balms in my stash to use up, but this one is on my re-stock list. Review is here.

Rebels Refinery Capital Vices Lip Balm in Passionfruit – I had two of these lip balms, and I’ll likely get another one the next time I’m in Toronto. At first I thought that this was going to be a cool looking, but terrible lip balm, but it was not the case! Review is here.

Odacitè Synergie [4] Immediate Skin Perfecting Beauty Masque – This came in a recent Petit Vour box. I really liked how it made my skin feel super cleansed, but not stripped. It is quite pricy, so I won’t be purchasing the full size at this point in time. Review is here.

Saje Natural Wellness Immune Diffuser Blend – I use this whenever one of us in the house is feeling under the weather. I have a stash of essential oils (singles and blends) for my diffuser, so I don’t need to replace this right away. Review is here.

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil – Another Petit Vour sample. This was a lovely bath oil, so perfect for relaxing after yoga! It is fairly pricy, so I won’t be purchasing a full size right now. Review is here.

Makeup:

January 2018 Empties

Physicians Formula Super BB #InstaReady Bb Cream – I got this at Generation Beauty in 2016, so it is time to get rid of this. I have not used this for ages, but remember liking it when I was using it. I have other products in my stash to use up, so I won’t be replacing it. Review is here.

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Ultra Natural Mascara – This was another Petit Vour item. Sadly this mascara did not work for me, so I’ll not be purchasing the full size version. Review is here.

ColourPop SuperShock Shadow in Birthday Girl – This was a limited edition gift with purchase to celebrate ColourPop’s birthday back in 2015. When I tried to use it over the holidays, I found that it was dried out, so into the bin it goes. Review is here.

Did you finish up very many products this past month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
