Cumulative Monthly Empties April to July 2020

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a cumulative empties post. I decided to only do a monthly empties post if I have at least 5 products finished. So now I have empties collecting from April to July! I’ll let you know if I plan to re-buy or not, either right away or eventually, and link to my original reviews.

Haircare & Bodycare:

Monthly Empties Apr to Jul 2020 1

Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask and Scalp Revival Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo – these were minis form the Sephora annual birthday gift. Loved both of these, I would like to buy full sizes eventually. Review is here. *Sephora Beauty Insider freebie*

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Body Cream – I LOVE this one. I’ve re-purchased this a few times, and plan on getting it again as soon as I finish up one of the other body creams / lotions in my stash. Review is here.

Skincare:

Monthly Empties Apr to Jul 2020 2

The Inkey List Collagen Booster and Hepta-Peptide Serums – I love facial serums, and will probably re-purchase eventually. I have a few serums on my wish-list that I would like to try first. Reviews are here and here.

Not pictured: There was also an oil cleanser (Aromatica Natural Coconut Cleansing Oil) from my CertClean judging package that I had not yet reviewed, but I cannot find the bottle – I think that the Mister recycled it already, oops! I have a few more oil cleansers to use up, so I won’t need to buy any for awhile! *PR / judging package product*

Makeup:

Monthly Empties Apr to Jul 2020 3

FitGlow Beauty Good Lash + Mascara – I scored this mascara a 5 out of 7. It is a nice mascara, but it isn’t a great one for me personally, as my eyes are way too watery for this formula. Review is here.

Essence All Eyes on Me Waterproof Multi-Effect Mascara – I scored this one a 5.75 out of 7. It didn’t give me enough volume, but it is a good waterproof lengthening mascara – but I want volume. Review is here.

So there you have it, my cumulative monthly empties – I didn’t finish up as much as I thought I would and I have several skincare products that are so close to being finished up, so maybe I’ll have more next time. But progress is progress when it comes to using up products rather than wasting them!

Did you finish up much this month (or over the past couple of months)?

Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift 2020 – Briogeo Revive & Repair Duo Review

Hello, hello!

Briogeo Revive & Repair Duo

Although my birthday was in early April, I only received my Sephora Annual Birthday Gift in May – there were a choice of a few mini sets, and I chose the Briogeo Mini Charcoal + Coconut Oil Shampoo and Mini Deep Conditioning Mask. [info in italics taken from the Sephora website]

Briogeo Revive & Repair Duo

Great hair starts with this bestselling duo! Detoxify your scalp and deep cleanse with Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo. Restore and strengthen dry, damaged hair with Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask, revealing healthy-looking and shiny locks.

I’ve previously tried the Don’t Despair Repair Deep Conditioning Mask and loved it, so I won’t review it today. I’ll just focus on the Scalp Revival Charcoal + Coconut Oil Micro-Exfoliating Shampoo.

Briogeo Revive & Repair Duo

This unique shampoo infuses binchotan charcoal to draw impurities from the scalp and hair follicle, providing the foundation for optimal scalp health. Vegetable-derived micro-exfoliators remove dead skin cells and product buildup to support a clean, balanced, and healthy scalp, as a cooling blend of peppermint and spearmint oils reduces scalp itchiness. Tea tree oil features anti-septic and healing properties to reduce scalp irritation, while coconut oil delivers superior moisturization to the scalp to combat and prevent dryness and flakiness. Super-vitamin panthenol provides essential nutrients to strengthen the hair roots and shaft.

This is a mega-minty shampoo treatment. My scalp felt tingly and soothed, and super clean. The mini jar contains enough for me to get three or four uses (depending on how much I use each time). I could see myself buying this and using it as a scalp detox treatment twice a month.

Briogeo Revive & Repair Duo

Did you pick this mini kit as your birthday gift, or did you go for one of the others?

Empties February 2020

Hello, hello!

Another month of empties – I’m making slow but steady progress at using up the products in my stash! Becuase I’m on a low buy, I’ll let you know if I plan to re-purchase eventually, and link to my original reviews. Let’s take a look!

Skincare Empties:

Empties February 2020

Lowen’s Natural Skincare Classic Lime Margarita Lip Balm and In Yo Face! Natural BB Cream – these were both from an amazing PR package from Lowen’s – I LOVED both the lip balm and the BB Cream so much! I have a stash of lip balms and facial moisturizers to use up but would replace. Reviews are here and here.

Leahlani Bless Balm – this was from my Petit Vour subscription. I used it both as a lip balm and as a cuticle balm. It was really awesome. I have a few more multi-purpose balms in my stash to use up, so no need to replace just yet. Review was here.

Sothys Paris / Sothys Canada Hydra Smoothing Mask, Energizing Serum, and nO2ctuelle Detox Resurfacing Overnight Cream – all three of these were PR samples. All are excellent high end, spa quality skincare products, that despite being more scented than my personal preference, all worked well for my sensitive skin. I still have a few more masks, serums and moisturizers / creams to use up, so I do not need to replace these right now. Reviews are here, here and here.

Haircare, Makeup and Essential Oil Empties:

Empties Feb 2020

Briogeo Curl Charisma Defining Crème – I bought this ages ago (almost 2 years!), and I finally finished it! I really like this curl cream a lot, but have a few more hair products to use up, so I won’t be replacing right now. Review is here.

Now Essential Oils Cheer Up Buttercup! – I bought this last year I think. And the mister liked it so much, that he bought a replacement for me! I never did review this essential oil, but it is such a bright, sunshine-y citrus scent.

Nyx Total Control Drop Foundation – I really like serum type foundations because they feel so light on the skin. I’m currently using one from Juice Beauty and one from Nyx, so I won’t be replacing right now. Review is here.

Have you finished up much this past month? I’m super close to finishing up a shampoo, a conditioner, and two facial moisturizers already this month.

Empties – August 2018

Hello, hello!

Another month of product empties – I think that I made pretty good progress at finishing things up this past month. Let’s take a look:

Empties August 2018

Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection – I don’t blow dry my hair often in the warmer months, and I have a few more hair products in my stash right now, so I don’t need to replace this. Review is here.

Attitude Super Leaves Colour Protection Conditioner – I’m not quite finished the matching shampoo. I will likely repurchase both once I use up another set in my stash. Review is here.

Now Essential Oils in Eucalyptus and Peppermint – Already repurchased!

Zabana Essentials Baking Soda Free Deodorant – This worked for a few hours on my before crapping out. I only used it if I was working from home to give my underarms a break. I’m currently using the Sensitive Formula Deodorant from Native as it has longer staying power for me. Reviews are here and here.

Empties August 2018Ursa Major 4-in-1 Essential Face Wipes – I’m not a facial wipe person, so I was mainly just using these as a preliminary step in cleansing as I just don’t feel that a wipe will get my face super clean. Review is here.

Poetic Blend Ghost Oil – I loved this light facial oil! If I didn’t have a few oils in my stash to use up, I would purchase a full size of this one. Review is here.

Lily de Mai Renew Restorative Calming Cream Cleanser [pr sample] – I’m sad that I finished this cleanser, it was so lovely and gentle. Probably my favourite cleanser for 2018. I’m still working my way through several cleansers in my stash, so I will not be replacing this right now – but it is going to the top of my wishlist! Review is here.

MüN Anarose Hydrating Rose Toner – I love facial mists / toners and have a few in my fridge right now (two or three) so I don’t need to buy a replacement. Review is here.

My two facial powders are STILL GOING! Here’s the wet n wild one:

StillNotEmptyAug18

Hopefully I’ll finish this one up by the end of the year, haha!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure – Most things purchased by me, all PR samples are identified. My opinion is very much my own.

Summer Hair Essentials for Wavy Hair

Hello, hello!

While I wait for my July Petit Vour box to arrive, I thought that I would show you my summer hair essentials. If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you will know that my hair is thick and wavy. I dye my hair and I try not to heat style it very often. My hair is also super prone to frizz.

Condition and Treat:

Summer Essentials for Wavy Hair - DevaCurl and Yarok

DevaCurl Melt into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask – I used my Sephora Beauty Insider points to get this deluxe sized sample. This stuff makes my hair so silky soft and manageable. The full size is $49, but I’m planning on splurging on it since it does such a beautiful job with my hair. Full review is here.

Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave-In Conditioner – Not only does this conditioning spray smell amazing, it works so well to add hydration to my hair without making it greasy. It can be used as a detangler (definitely works for me) and as a heat protecting spray (haven’t tested this, as I haven’t been heat styling at all this summer). This was a Petit Vour sample, full review is here.

Style and Control:

Summer Essentials for Wavy Hair - Ouai and Briogeo

Ouai Wave Spray – I bought this at Sephora in December 2017 / January 2018. This gives my hair beautifully beachy waves. I still think that it is a little too highly scented for my preference, but since it works so well with my hair, I’ll definitely use it up. Full review is here.

Briogeo Curl Charisma Rice Amino + Avocado Leave-In Defining Crème – I’ve been using this since February / March 2017, and this tube should be in my monthly empties in the next month or two. This helps leave my waves soft and under control. No crunchy curls here! I tend to alternate between using the Ouai Wave Spray and the Briogeo Curl Charisma. Full review is here.

Summer Essentials for Wavy Hair - Briogeo, DevaCurl, Yarok and Ouai

Do you have wavy or out of control hair? What do you use to tame your mane?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: All purchased by me!

Best 17 of 2017 – Skin and Hair Care

Hello, hello!

Today I am sharing my picks for the best of 2017 in Skincare, Bath / Body and Hair Care – in some categories I picked more than one product.

Skincare:

Best of Skin1

Best Cleansers of 2017 – Farmacy Beauty Green Clean Balm and Juice Beauty Brightening Gel Cleanser. Both have become my favourite cleansers that I tried this past year! Reviewed here and here.

Best Serums of 2017 – The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2% and Buffet. I’ve gone through two of each of these and they work really well for my sensitive skin. Reviewed here and here.

Best Eye Cream / Serum of 2017 – The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG. This is the the only caffeine based eye serum that I’ve tried that doesn’t irritate my eyes. It works well for calming undereye puffiness. Review is here.

Best Toner of 2017 – The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution. Admittedly, I’ve not tried a lot of toners this year, but this one works well for my skin. I only use it a few times a week and not daily. Review is here.

Best Facial Oil of 2017 – Poetic Blend Ghost Oil. This came in a Petit Vour box, and I absolutely love it, especially now that we are in the midst of cold winter weather. Review is here.

Best in Bath and Body 2017

Best of 2017

Best in Body Care 2017 – Neal’s Yard Remedies Bee Lovely All Over Balm (PR Sample) and Satya Organic Eczema Relief. Both are amazing. Reviews are here and here.

Best in Lip Care 2017 – Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask and Joik Gloss and Care Lip Oil. I’m a lip balm addict and these two are the best! Review are here and here.

Best in Bath 2017 – Wildcraft Buff Scrub and Joik Luxurious Rose Bathmilk. This is the nicest body scrub, and it smells amazing. It says that it can be used on the face, but my facial skin is far too sensitive. I’m sad that I’ve used up the last of my Joik Rose Bathmilk – it was so lovely and the scent was glorious. Reviews here and here.

Best Hand Cream 2017 – Natura Siberica Saaremaa Mositurizing Hand Cream. I was gifted this while in Estonia, and it is such an amazing hand cream. I use it daily in the colder weather. Review is here.

Best in Hair Care 2017

Best of 2017

Best Hair Accessory 2017 – GummiBand Hair Cords (PR Sample). I’ve been using these daily since getting them. I have one on my wrist as I’m typing, haha! Review is here.

Best Hair Product 2017 – Briogeo Curl Charisma. Helps tame my unruly wavy hair and make it look good without being crunchy or heavy. Review is here.

Best Dry Shampoo 2017 –  Hask Chia Seed Volumizing Dry Shampoo. This was diffiuclt to choose between this one and my usual one from Co-Lab. I like that it doesn’t make my hair feel gross, or add a white cast and adds a nice amount of volume. Review is here.

Next week I’ll have by Top 17 of 2017 in makeup!

September 2017 Empties

Hello, hello!

Today I have my monthly empties – I’m pretty happy with the amount that I managed to finish this month. Some are sample-sized and some are full sized.

Sept 2017 Empties

Briogeo Curl Charisma (leave in defining creme sample size) – I have a full size of this already and love it. The original review is here.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer (sample size) – I think that I got this either from Ipsy or from Sephora. I really liked this moisturizer, it is light and hydrating. I’ve never reviewed this one.

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector (full size) – I already repurchased this, I use it daily and it helps hide my dark circles. The original review is here.

Sept 2017 Empties

Schmidt’s Deodorant Lavender Tips Sensitive Skin Formula (full size) – I love this natural deodorant. It is baking soda free so it doesn’t trigger a reaction. I’m using up a few deodorants right now, but plan on repurchasing this one. Review is here.

Biokem Purifying Shampoo with Grapefruit Seed (full size, PR sample) – This was a great clarifying shampoo, it lathered well and smelled amazing. If I could buy this locally, I would repurchase. Review is here.

Sept 2017 Empties

Ingenium Naturals Sensi-Net Exfoliate (full size / PR sample) – I really liked this facial scrub, it worked well for my sensitive skin. I have a few scrubs to use up, so I won’t be purchasing a new one for awhile. Review is here.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Daily Defense Cream SPF17 (full size / PR sample) – I love the sunscreens from MyChelle Dermaceuticals! I still have a few more sunscreens from MyChelle in my stash so I don’t need to repurchase yet. Review is here.

NuWorld Botanicals Sun-Kissed Skin Facial Oil (full size / PR sample) – This is a beautiful facial oil, but I have several to use up in my stash, so I won’t be purchasing a replacement right now. Review is here.

Sept 2017 Empties

Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus Eye Serum (sample size) – I got this in the loot bag from the 2016 Ipsy Genereation Beauty Event. This was a nice eye cream, but I have a few in my stash to use up, so I won’t be purchasing a full size of this. Review is here.

Herbivore Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask (sample size) – I absolutely loved this mask! It is on my list to purchase once I finish up a few more masks in my stash. Review is here.

Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask (sample size) – Another mask that I really love. It works similar to the Herbivore one for my skin. Review is here.

There you have it! All the stuff I’ve managed to use up this month. Did you finish up much? Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: This post contains some PR samples – all are identified.

June 2017 Faves

Hello, hello!

Can you believe that June is nearly over? Today I have my faves for the month of June. I tried to keep it within five products or less per product category:

Fave Hair & Body Products:

June Faves - Wildcraft, Mychelle, Briogeo

Wildcraft Buff Face and Body Scrub, originally reviewed here – I absolutely love this scrub for the body. I still think that it would be way to harsh for my sensitive face.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Replenishing Solar Defence SPF 30*, originally reviewed here – this is such a great sunscreen, I can wear it on my face or my body. And it plays nicely with makeup.

Briogeo Curl Charisma, originally reviewed here, humidity makes my hair an unruly mess, and this helps tame the frizz without making it feel heavy or crunchy.

Not pictured – Schmidt’s Naturals Deodorant Sensitive Skin Formula in Lavender Tips, originally reviewed here, a great natural deodorant for my sensitive underarms! The first baking soda free deodorant that works well for me.

Fave Skincare Products:

June Faves - The Ordinary, Herbivore

The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%, reviewed here – I’m loving this one at night. My skin looks so good when I wake up in the morning!

Herbivore Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask, reviewed here – I only use this once a week, but it I think that it really helps with skin texture. I’ll definitely be buying a full size of this one!

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG, reviewed here – this works so great at de-puffing my poor allergy plagued under eye area! I use this one in the morning only.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, reviewed here – my skin LOVES hyaluronic acid. It just plumps and hydrates the skin so well without making it feel oily or heavy. I use this one morning and night.

The Ordinary “Buffet” Multi-Technology Peptide Serum, reviewed here – another serum that makes my skin look and feel great! I use this one morning and night.

Fave Make-Up:

June Faves - Bite. The Ordinary, ColourPop

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Pepper, reviewed here – I’ve been wearing this lipstick so much since getting it in April! It is such a perfect MLBB shade.

The Ordinary High Spreadability Fluid Primer, reviewed here – this is the first primer that I’ve tried and really liked.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation in  1.2P, reviewed here – this is a nice light foundation. these days I mostly only wear foundation when I have client meetings, and this is the one that I’ve reached for each time!

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Rhubarb, reviewed here – this is such a wearable shade. I’ve been wearing this one a lot this month as well.

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Dopey, reviewed here – I’ve been wearing this one non-stop over the past week. I’d actually forgotten that I owned this one!

So there you have it, all of my faves for the month of June! What were your fave products this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
