Empties March 2020

Hello, hello!

Today I have my monthly empties post for you. I didn’t finish up as much as I had hoped, but progress is progress when it comes to using up the things in my stash and not wasting them! I’ll include links to my original reviews and let you know if I would want to re-purchase either right away or eventually.

Haircare:

Empties March 2020 1

EVOLVh UltraRepair Reconstructing Masque – This was a PR sample. I loved this hair mask so much, and it is on my wishlist to buy the full size as soon as I use up another mask in my stash. Review is here.

Rahua Classic Shampoo & Conditioner – These were from my Petit Vour subscription. I liked them a lot. I’d like to try more from this brand – maybe for wavy/curly or dry hair. Review is here.

Cake Beauty The Posh Wash and The Soft Serve – These smell so good, and work well with my hair, so I’m sure I’ll eventually buy them again. Review is here.

Skincare and Makeup:

Empties March 2020 - Skincare and Makeup with Moor Spa, Sothys, Essence, Eyes of Horus

Moor Spa Supreme Cream – This was a PR sample. I mainly uses this cream at night, as I prefer something a little lighter in the day time if I’m wearing makeup. I have a few moisturizers in my stash to use up, so no need to even think about purchasing a full size. Review is here.

Sothys Hydra3Ha Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Youth Cream – Another PR sample. This one was great for day or night use. I always need a little hydration boost in the fall and winter months so this worked well for me. I have a few moisturizers in my stash to use up, so no need to even think about purchasing a replacement. Review is here.

Essence Lash Princess Waterproof Mascara – I really liked this mascara, and gave it a score of 6.75 out of 7. I  would definitely re-purchase this one. Review is here.

Eye Of Horus Brow Define – Another Petit Vour box product. This was my very first micro brow pencil. I’ve since purchased one from Essence to try out, but would love to get this one eventually. Review is here.

Essence Make Me Brow Tinted Brow Mascara – I’ve already purchased a new one, it is that good! Reviews are here and here.

So there you have it! Were you able to finish up much this month?

Cake Beauty The Posh Wash & The Soft Serve Cream Rinse Conditioner Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing Cake Beauty’s The Posh Wash and The Soft Serve Cream Rinse Conditioner that I recently purchased. Cake Beauty is Canadian, cruelty free and vegan.[info in italics taken from the Cake Beauty website]

Cake Beauty The Posh Wash and The Soft Serve

The Posh Wash Shampoo:

Set your second-day-and-beyond hair up for success. This revolutionary shampoo dramatically extends that freshly washed feel so you can wash your hair less often. Driven by an advanced moringa seed micro-protein, our luxe suds polish hair and scalp while helping to fend off dirt and pollutants

Cake Beauty The Posh Wash and The Soft Serve

This is a really nice shampoo, it lathers really well, and makes my hair feel super clean without drying it out. My hair looks great on the second day, and fairly good on the third day!

The Soft Serve Cream Rinse Conditioner:

Set your second-day-and-beyond hair up for success. This revolutionary cream rinse dramatically extends that freshly conditioned feel so you can wash your hair less often. Driven by an advanced Moringa Seed micro-protein, our light-as-meringue yet rich-as-custard emollient surges in moisture and helps fend off dirt and pollutants. Bring on soft, strong, light-and-shiny hair, without the harsh chemicals.

Cake Beauty The Posh Wash and The Soft Serve

This is a lightweight conditioner, but still very hydrating and creamy feeling.

Since I’ve been using both the shampoo and conditioner, my hair has been less frizz prone, and so much more manageable and smoother in texture. My hair feels so soft!

Have you tried The Posh Wash and The Soft Serve?

November Empties

Hello, hello!

I know that November isn’t over yet, but I also know that I am not close enough to finishing anything else in my stash. Any products that I finished from my Project Pan Collab are not included in these empties.

November Empties (2016)

As you can see, I only finished up a few products this month.

Makeup Empties:

November Empties (2016)

Nyx HD Studio Photogenic Foundation (reviewed here) – Would I buy it again? Probably not, but only because I’m only going to buy foundations / BB creams with SPF in them from now on. But despite this, this foundation worked great for my skin.

Nyx Dark Circle Corrector (reviewed here) -I didn’t actually finish this one, it is getting pitched because it dried out so badly that it is unusable. Would I buy again? Probably not as it didn’t work as well for me as the  Becca Undereye Brightening Corrector (reviewed here).

Nyx Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer (reviewed here) – Repurchase? Maybe. I really liked this concealer but it got pushed to the back of my stash when I was trying new concealers. It works great when my skin is normal, but not so great when my skin gets dry.

The Body Shop Wonderblur (reviewed here). I really liked this primer when I first purchased it. But when I used it recently, it was terrible and pilled when I wore it under my Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. Initially the two worked well together. Maybe it dried out? I’m not sure. Would I repurchase?  Probably not.

Body Care:

Nov Empties (2016)

Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant in Ylang-Ylang & Calendula – (reviewed here). Already repurchased, this time in Cedarwood & Juniper scent. This natural deodorant works great for me, but I can’t use it every single day as it will start to irritate my skin due to the baking soda content so I switch to one of the baking soda free natural deodorants in my stash on days when I’m working from home.

Cake Beauty Delectable Hand Cream in Strawberries & Cream – (reviewed here). Would I repurchase? Maybe, but in a different scent. This was a struggle to finish, because in spite of it being a really great hand cream, the scent was too much for me!

Earth Science Naturals Deodorant  in Mint Rosemary – (reviewed here). Would I repurchase? I probably will once I use up a few more deodorants in my stash. It works pretty well but not as well as the Schmidt’s. But it is great to use when my underarm skin needs a little break from the Schmidt’s as it doesn’t contain baking soda.

Haircare:

Nov Empties (2016)

CO LAB Dry Shampoo in Rio tropical scent – (reviewed here). I’ve been buying this one since last winter, and it made its first appearance in my March Empties post. Already repurchased. I think that I finish up one of these every couple of months. I like this one because it has a mild scent and doesn’t make my hair feel dried out that way that a lot of dry shampoos make my hair feel.

So there you have it, not very many empties, but I’m happy to be clearing out my stash.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

September 2016 Empties

Hello, hello!

I didn’t finish up as much as I thought I would this month – just four things.

September 2016 Empties

Cake Beauty Everything Balm – I really liked this balm, especially on the lips, and cuticles. Will I repurchase? Maybe, I have a bunch of stuff to use up first. My original review is here.

Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser – I absolutely loved this cleanser, especially for summer. For colder weather, I tend to switch to creamy cleansers. I will probably purchase this gain in the spring / summer. My original review is here.

Essence Cosmetics I ❤ Extreme Volume Mascara (Waterproof) and Get Big Lashes (Waterproof) – GBL was my holy grail mascara for a long time, but I think that I actually like the I ❤ one better. Original reviews is here. I didn’t actually finish these mascaras, it was just time to replace them. They were sold out of both at my local Pharmaprix, so I need to check another store. In the meantime I’m testing out another mascara.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: All purchased by me except for the Cake Beauty Everything Balm which was a freebie from Generation Beauty in Toronto event (but I paid for the event ticket).

Canadian Brands at Generation Beauty – Skinfix and Cake Beauty

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing a few things from two Canadian brands that are new to me, that had booths at the Generation Beauty event in Toronto last month.

First up are two products from Skinfix, a cruelty-free Canadian skincare brand. The first of which is the Ultra Rich Hand Cream *Gift Bag Swag*

Clinically proven to promote healthy skin on hands. Award winning Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream is the ultimate in hand hydration. This rich, yet quick-absorbing hand cream is loaded with natural emollient oils of coconut and sunflower to relieve dryness and cracking on contact. Aloe leaf juice, chamomile and calendula soothe away dryness and provide long-lasting protection throughout the day. Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream is the ultimate skin fix.*

This hand cream is super mega rich, but not at all greasy, and has no real scent. Great for dry hands and feet.

The second product is the Ultra Rich Body Butter *Freebie from the Skinfix booth*

Chronic dry skin is a result of a depleted lipid barrier combined with overall dehydration. For most, simple lotions do not offer enough relief and do not contain enough emollient ingredients to heal the skin barrier. Skinfix introduces Ultra Rich Body Butter, the ultimate super quencher for skin that’s extremely dry, flaking and rough. This luxurious, rich formula melts into skin to instantly relieve tightness and flaking. It also deeply penetrates to lock in essential moisture that leaves skin soft, supple and healthy all day. Natural shea butter, coconut and sunflower oil soothe and nourish depleted skin while antioxidants soothe and protect. Can be used daily all over the body for maximum comfort. For best results, apply has a regimen following Skinfix Cleansing Oil Wash. Skinfix Ultra Rich Body Butter is the ultimate skin fix.*

Ok, I know that I just said that the Ultra Rich Hand Cream was super rich and not greasy, but the Body Butter is even more hydrating. It works amazingly well on skin that is both sensitive and needing moisture.

The other brand is Cake Beauty, a Canadian hair, body and beauty brand, that is also cruelty-free. The first product is the Everything Balm *Freebie from the Cake Beauty booth*

Scale down your routine with this all-over beauty balm. Silky smooth (and never greasy), this wonderfully rich and moisturizing formula has you covered everything hydration is needed. With 21+ innovative uses, this natural balm is a naturally luxe, highly addictive, easy-to-apply, timesaving, get-creative-with-it, must-have miracle worker.

The Everything Balm’s key ingredient is high-performing natural castor oil. Used for thousands of years as a hair and skin treatment because of its deep penetration capabilities, it is known to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, encourage hair, brow, and lash strength and growth, and soothe skin from head to toe. This super-ingredient is supplemented with well-known humectants such as shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter and sunflower seed oil.

The Delectable Everything Balm: softens skin, tames brows, plumps pouts, conditions cuticles, pops cheekbones, brightens dark circles, seals split ends, glosses lips, nourishes dryness, softens heels, polishes puckers, shields skin, rejuvenates knees, smooths frizz, reduces itchiness, refreshes hands, unchaps lips, soothes sunburns, nurses cracks, restores elbows, eases bug bites and more…

This stuff is a true multi-tasking product with a mild, sweet scent. I’ve used it as lip balm, on my cuticles, and on the ends of my hair. I’ll probably end up buying a full size of this when it is gone, I love that it is such a multi-purpose product.

The second product from Cake Beauty is the Strawberries and Cream Ultra Nourishing Hand Cream *Gift Bag Swag*

Packed full of goodness, this ultra nourishing hand cream is enriched with mango butter, shea butter and aloe vera to smooth, nourish and rejuvenate hand and cuticles. Rich and never greasy, this beautiful blend is kissed with the delectable scent of strawberry & cream. Enjoy super-smooth, soft and nourished hands. A standing ovation all for you.

This hand cream is also rich without bring greasy. It has a strawberries and cream scent that is long lasting, so if you are sensitive to scented products, then this is not the one for you.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
