Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude! Today I have a review of the Skin&CO Truffle Therapy Face Toner that came in my Winter CAUSEBOX [info in italics taken from the Skin&CO website].
Gentle, powerful, soothing, and healing. Truffle Therapy Face Toner deeply cleanses and purifies pores with the antiseptic power of Witch Hazel and Sage, effectively removing impurities, clogged pores and dead skin cells to treat, heal, and prevent blemishes. The natural extracts and antioxidant properties of Black Winter Truffle, Rosemary, Calendula, and Cucumber soothes and protects from environmental and free radical damage.
This is a really nice toner – it doesn’t sting or make my skin feel stripped. My skin seems to be doing really well since I started using this toner approximately four weeks ago. I think that it is really helping to prevent my skin from breaking out or becoming over-sensitive from all the mask wearing.
Have you tried this cruelty free and vegan toner? Do you have a favourite facial toner?

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!
Today I’m sharing my unboxing and first impressions of the Winter 2021 CAUSEBOX – this is a quarterly subscription [info in italics taken from the CAUSEBOX website]
FIVE CORNERSTONES DEFINE EVERYTHING THAT WE DO AT CAUSEBOX. WE ARE: COMMUNITY FOCUSED, ETHICALLY MADE, ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS, FOR WOMEN, AND IMPACT DRIVEN.
The art of the Winter 2021 box, sticker and postcard is by the duo Sacrée Frangine – which is Célia Amroune and Aline Kpade. Sacrée Frangine roughly translates into sacred sister(hood).
I have a basic subscription, so I don’t get to choose the items that I receive. But I like the element of surprise. Here’s the list of possible products, and information on each one:
Now lets take a look at what I received:
One: Thread & Supply Cozy Cloud Wrap ($115 USD)
This sweater is SO SOFT and COZY! The length is approximately to my hips, and the soft gray colours make it super wearable – it will pretty much go with everything I own!
I love to cook, and was *just* talking about wanting to get these. They make post cooking cleanup so much easier – I’ve already used them twice! I love that it is a pack of two.
Three: SKIN&CO Roma Truffle Therapy Face Toner ($30 USD)
I love skincare, so I’ll happily test this out and post a full review in a few weeks.
Four: Zeal Living Marble Geo Coasters ($42 USD)
These coasters are so beautiful! And we will actually use them.
Five: ettitude Travel Beauty Pillowcase ($25 USD)
This is a bamboo “silk” type pillow case and travel pouch. I had mentioned recently that I wanted to get a silk pillowcase, so this is perfect timing! It is a little wrinkled after being taken out of the pouch, but I did not feel like digging out my iron this morning.
Six: Idlewild Co. Yearly Planner ($32 USD)
I still use a paper planner in conjunction with my iPhone calendar. I will use this one for blog planning and for keeping track of my yoga practices.
The Winter 2021 box cost me $62.90 USD ($54.95 + shipping to Canada) which works out to $83.56 CAD based on the exchange rate that I paid ($1.3284), so the value of this box is $262 USD which works out to $348.04 CAD! The yearly subscription is cheaper and you get customization choices, but I’m liking the element of surprise so far!
I’m super happy with everything that I received! All are things that I will use.

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!
Today I’m reviewing the Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel that came in my Fall CAUSEBOX. [info in italics taken from the Aromatherapy Associates website]
Our best selling De-Stress Muscle Gel first cools inflamed muscles before imparting a deep, comforting warmth. Invigorating Black Pepper and warming Ginger are the perfect antidote to an intense workout, a demanding day, or in-flight heavy legs, leaving muscles soothed and relaxed.
Not only is this muscle gel great for sore muscles, it smells amazing with the black pepper, ginger, rosemary and lavender – much like the De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil which I have previously tried and absolutely loved!
You can also use it on the back of your neck or temples when you have a headache!
Hello, hello, welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!
Today I’m reviewing the Brightening Face Serum from Way of Will that came in my Fall 2020 Causebox. [info in italics taken from the Way of Will website]
Way of Will is a Canadian brand, based in Toronto. They are cruelty free.
Let’s take a look at the serum:
Keep your skin looking healthy and glowing with our Brightening Face Serum. Formulated to be lightweight and easily absorbed by skin, this serum is rich in vitamins, high in antioxidants to fight free radicals, and keeps skin hydrated. Each compact bottle packs a powerful punch when it comes to skin-loving ingredients that moisturizes, brightens, tones, and revitalizes dull, tired-looking skin for a radiant complexion.
Serums are probably my favourite skincare product. The Brightening Face Serum feels like a facial oil, and it sinks into my skin quickly. My skin does really well with brightening serums – this one has a blend of Vitamins A and C, and contains Marula, Black Currant and Carrot.
Since I started using this serum, I’ve been skipping foundation, and only using concealer for my undereyes, and anywhere I have redness. It gives my skin a glowy look that I love.
Hello hello! Welcome to / Welcome back to A Brash Attitude!
Today I’m sharing my unboxing and first impressions of the Fall Box from CAUSEBOX – this is a quarterly seasonal subscription box [info in italics taken from the CAUSEBOX website]
FIVE CORNERSTONES DEFINE EVERYTHING THAT WE DO AT CAUSEBOX. WE ARE: COMMUNITY FOCUSED, ETHICALLY MADE, ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS, FOR WOMEN, AND IMPACT DRIVEN.
Let’s take a look was inside – For most of the six products there is an either / or selection – I highlighted what I received:
Product #1 – Bathen Waffle Bathrobe ($90 USD):
I received the Bathrobe in Mint – It is not my favourite colour in the world, but the robe itself is beautiful, and it is handwoven, in soft 100% cotton. I really wanted a lightweight bathrobe, so I know that I will use this! Because it is cotton, I can always dye it another colour. Because the fabric is a waffle weave, it tends to contract after washing – this is not fabric shrinkage as it can easily be re-shaped when wet and dried flat, or ironed into shape when dry. I hung this to dry without shaping just to see how much it would contract.
This can be used for tea, coffee, or fruit infused water. As the weather gets colder, I tend to drink tisanes / caffeine free tea so this will be well used by me. It is composed of a double wall glass tumbler, removable stainless steel infuser, bamboo lid and insulated sleeve. I love that it has an insulated sleeve, because not only will it keep my drink hot (or cold), it will protect it from getting knocked about! Review to follow once I’ve tested it out!
Product #3 – Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Gel ($39 USD):
Another product that I know that I will use as I’ve tried and reviewed the De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil previously. It smells amazing and I love muscle balms! Review to follow once I’ve tried it out!
I will be giving this to the Mister to take care of as he’s the one with the green thumb. I love fresh basil, so hopefully we will have success growing it!
Product #5 – Core Bamboo Serve Set ($35 USD):
Absolutely thrilled to get this! I love serving sets – even if it is just for myself and the Mister. This will definitely be well used in our house!
Product #6 – Way of Will Brightening Face Serum ($37.50 USD):
If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know that facial serums are one of my favourite skincare items. I’ve never tried anything from this brand, so I’m quite excited! And this is Canadian brand that is new to me – AWESOME! Full review to follow once I’d had a chance to test it out.
The Fall Box cost me $62.90 USD ($54.95 + shipping to Canada) which is $84.45 CAD based on the exchange rate that I paid ($1.3426), so the value of this box is $250.50 USD which works out to $336.32 CAD! The yearly subscription is cheaper and you get customization choices, but I’m liking the element of surprise so far!

Today I’m reviewing the La Beauté Soi 10 Piece Makeup Brush Set that came in my CAUSEBOX Summer Intro Box 3 [info in italics taken from La Beauté Soi website]
Our 10pcs Ensemble Brush Kit has everything you need ready to be taken on your next adventure. Giving you the flawless complexion and eye looks you crave, all packed in a vegan leather roll in a variety of different color variations to pick from, that will leave any ready to any person on the go.
The collection consists of the following brushes: – Angled Liner Brush, Precision Brush, Angled Shadow Brush, Flat Shader Brush, Blending Brush, Concealer Brush, Fan Brush, Pointed Foundation Brush, Angled Blush Brush and Powder Brush
This is a good selection of cruelty-free and vegan makeup brushes. I like that it comes with a brush roll – although I don’t store my brushes in there, and only use the roll for travelling as the bristles can get crumpled if left sitting in there. The handles are sturdy, and the bristles seem to be securely attached – I’ve had no shedding yet after using and washing.
Out of the ten brushes, there are five face brushes: the Concealer Brush, Fan Brush, Pointed Foundation Brush, Angled Blush Brush and Powder Brush – out of which, I will use four of them – I have other fan brushes that sit unused in my collection, so this fan brush will likely get neglected as well. I especially like the foundation brush and the powder brush, as these are two brushes that I reach for the most!
From the five eye brushes: Angled Liner Brush, Precision Brush, Angled Shadow Brush, Flat Shader Brush, Blending Brush, all are brushes that I reach for whenever I wear eye makeup, so it is always good to have several of each. I would say that the precision brush will likely be the least used out of the bunch.
Have you tried any brushes fro La Beauté Soi?

Today I’m reviewing the Hyaluronic Acid Serum from grace & stella. It came in my Summer Intro Box from my CAUSEBOX subscription. [info in italics taken from the grace & stella website]
Say ‘hi’ to hydration
Hyaluronic acid is a must-have in your skin routine. The primary function of hyaluronic acid is to retain water to keep your skin hydrated at all times, so you can think about it as a BIG drink of water for your tissues. This is the holy grail for supple, youthful skin.
Lightweight and suitable for all skin types, our Hyaluronic Acid formula alleviates dry skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and speeding up wound healing. It improves skin elasticity, making your skin appear dewier and brighter.
Always Vegan, Cruelty-Free, and Paraben-Free.
grace & stella is a Canadian company that is Leaping Bunny certified cruelty free – so I was super excited to try something from this new to me brand!
I love facial serums, especially ones that are hyaluronic acid based as they give an extra boost of hydration. This one is light and quickly absorbs into my skin. I love that it has a pump. I’ve even used it mixed in with my foundation to make it a little more hydrating.
Today I have a review of the Wyld Skincare French Pink Clay Konjac Sponge that I got recently in my summer intro box 3 from CAUSEBOX [info in italics taken from the Wyld Skincare website]
Gentle exfoliating sponge made from 100% natural Konjac plant. Infused with ultra-soothing French pink clay to purify pores without drying your skin. Nourishing vitamins and minerals help brighten complexion and promote healthy skin. Leaves skin soft and dewy after every use.
French pink clay gently removes dirt, oil, makeup and build-up in pores
Contains natural calming properties to soothe and nourish skin
Removes dead skin without stripping healthy oils
Infuses pores with rich minerals and vitamins (A, E, D, B1, B2, B6, B12, and C)
This is a super gentle way to exfoliate my skin. I love that it is just the Konjac sponge and pink clay – that’s it – nothing else! It can be used by itself with water, or with the facial cleanser of your choice. And it comes with a little string loop so it can be hung to dry between uses – which is a nice touch!
Have you tried using a Konjac sponge before?
