Harvest Natural Beauty Lengthening Organic Mascara Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Lengthening Organic Mascara from Harvest Natural Beauty that came in my August Petit Vour box [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Harvest Natural Beauty Lengthening Organic Mascara

Thicken and lengthen each lash with this nontoxic, vegan, 100% natural and organic mascara. Infused with conditioning organics and Vitamin E, this unique formula is smudge proof and water resistant. Free from artificial colors, preservatives and fragrances making it ideal for sensitive eyes.

Harvest Natural Beauty Lengthening Organic Mascara

This mascara is available in two shades black and brown – I received the shade black.

I admit to being so very picky when it comes to my mascara because I have long, stick straight lashes, that are light in colour despite being a natural dark brunette. I curl my lashes before I apply mascara or else it looks like I barely have any lashes. And I have sensitive eyes that eyes water easily, so any mascara that I use must be smudge-proof and water-resistant (ideally waterproof) or else I’ll be in a huge mess!

Harvest Natural Beauty Lengthening Organic Mascara

The brush is a fairly standard bristle, not too small and not too large, easy to apply to the inner and outer lash corners.

I have seven requirements for a mascara, and I’ll comment on each requirement and score each point. So how did Harvest Natural Beauty’s Lengthening Organic Mascara do?

1. waterproof – the formula is fairly water resistant, not waterproof, +3/4 point

2. smudge-proof – Mostly smudgeproof, but if my eyes are super watery, I will get a little under-eye smudging. +3/4 point

3. non-flaking / non-clumping – I didn’t experience any flaking, and if I clean off the end of the wand before use, clumping is minimal with careful application.  +3/4

4. must be DARK black (not blackish, not brown black, and definitely not grey black) – the formula is a nice deep, dark black, +1 point

5. volumizing – the formula is for lengthening, but it was surprisingly volumizing, +3/4 point

6. must hold a curl – It holds a curl ok, but not amazingly well for my lashes. But it didn’t cause them to droop, +1/2 point

7. non-irritating to my sensitive eyes, +1

Overall I would give this mascara a score of 5.5, out of 7. I like it, but it isn’t a holy grail for me, mainly due to my watery eyes and stick straight lashes – if they make a waterproof formulation, it would probably score a 7 for me! If you don’t have an issue with watery eyes, it would probably work amazingly well for you.

Zabana Essentials Banana Colloidal Oatmeal Face Mask + Scrub Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Zabana Essentials Banana Colloidal Oatmeal Face Mask + Scrub that came in my May Petit Vour subscription box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour May 2018 Unboxing

Say goodbye to dry skin! Banana & Colloidal Oatmeal work as a mild and soothing powerhouse duo to hydrate, soothe, repair, and pamper the driest skin. Rich in Vitamin A, Potassium, and Silica skin proteins that will instantly reveal a smooth complexion and your natural glow.

Zabana Essentials Banana Colloidal Oatmeal Hydrating & Rejuvenating Face Mask + Scrub

This facial scrub – mask combo looks and feels a lot like a sugar scrub in texture. You apply it to wet skin, and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes and then massage it into the skin before rinsing it off. The facial mask + scrub is super gentle, and my skin felt so soft and hydrated after rinsing it off!

The sample pack contains enough of the mask-scrub for several uses, which I really like, because I prefer to use a product several times in order to have a solid opinion on how a product works for my sensitive skin.

The full size sells for $25 USD for a 2 oz jar, the sample foil pack contains 1 oz of product (worth $12.50 USD).

Petit Vour Unboxing March 2018

Hello, hello!

My Petit Vour box arrived yesterday, and I am excited to show you what was inside. Full product reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to test everything out!

Petit Vour is a cruelty-free and vegan monthly subscription box with four (occasionally five) products. The subscription is $18 USD a month in the U.S., $23 USD for Canada, and $25 for the rest of the world. The exchange rate was not great this month ($1.3239), so this month’s box cost me $30.45 CAD.

Let’s take a look inside. As always, the artwork on the information card is a lovely print.

Everyday Minerals Velvet Eyes Eyeshadow $6 USD

Petit Vour March 2018

This is a loose shadow pigment in the shade Fresh Glowing. I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks like a gorgeous shade.  I’ll be trying it out over the weekend.

Kahina Giving Beauty Argan Oil $10 USD (full size is $82 USD)

Petit Vour March 2018

I will not need to purchase any oils for quite awhile. I like that this is a multi-purpose oil. And I don’t have any Argan Oil in my stash.

Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave-In Conditioner $14 USD (full size is $27)Petit Vour March 2018

This sounds like it was made for my hair! Super happy with this one, can’t wait to test it out!

Konjac Sponge Co 100% Pure Konjac Angel Cloth ($16 USD)

Petit Vour March 2018

I’ve never tried a Konjac sponge before, it sounds interesting.

Petit Vour March 2018

This month’s box is worth $46 USD, which works out to be $60.90 CAD at the exchange rate that I paid for this month’s box!

I’m happy with this month’s selection, especially the Everyday Minerals shadow and the Yarok leave-in conditioner.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!
