Cumulative Empties Sep 2021 to Feb 2022

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Skincare

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have my empties that I’ve accumulated over the past six months. There actually should be more, but I think that a few things got misplaced or recycled.

Skincare:

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Skincare

Made for Me Hydrating Moisturizer and Brightening C Serum (*PR Gifted) – Both the moisturizer and serum are amazing, and I’d would highly recommend both of them. I have a bunch of serums and moisturizers to use up in my stash, but I would purchase these. Reviews are here.

Haircare:

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Haircare

Garnier Fructis Hydrating Treat Conditioner (Aloe Extract) – This is a great budget friendly conditioner. I would re-purchase this eventually – but right now I’m committed to using the Keratinworks line to maintain my hair post salon treatment. Review is here.

EVOLVh Smart Start Leave-In Conditioner (*PR Gifted) and Ultrashine Moisture Shampoo – Both are amazing, and I could see myself purchasing eventually. Reviews are here and here.

Kristin Ess Beach Wave Spray – This is a great product for enhancing my wavy hair and giving it that beachy wave effect. I would re-purchase eventually. Review is here.

Noughty To The Rescue Intense Moisture Treatment – An awesome budget friendly hair mask – I loved this, and would likely repurchase. Review is here.

Bath and Body:

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Bodycare

Haus of Gloi Lily Cake Bubbling Scrub (*This was birthday gift) – I love the bubbling scrubs from Haus of Gloi. I’ve purchased them many times over the years in different scents, and will do so again eventually.

Alba Botanica Hawaiian Body Cream – I’ve purchased this several times, and will do so again eventually. It is such an amazing body cream. Review is here.

Naturewell Hydrolyzed Collagen Moisture Cream (*PR gifted) – Another amazing body cream. Great for winter dryness. I would purchase this one as it is super effective and budget friendly. Review is here.

Lowen’s Natural Skincare Salt of the Earth Sea Salt Scrub – I would definitely re-purchase this body scrub. It smells amazing, its super hydrating, and exfoliates really well. Review is here.

Makeup:

Empties Sep 21 to Feb 22 Makeup

Flower Beauty Warrior Princess Mascara – I liked this mascara, scored it a 6.25 out of 7. It was good, but not holy grail for me. Review is here.

Essence Cosmetics Bye Bye Panda Eyes! and #Lashes of the Day Mascaras – Bye Bye Panda Eyes I scored 6.25 out of 7, but I found that this mascara got better over time. I would buy this one again, because it improved, so I’d increase the score to 6.75 out of 7. Lashes of the day scored higher at 6.5 out of 7, but it didn’t get any better over time, so I don’t think I would repurchase. Reviews are here and here.

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara – This mascara scored a 6 out of 7. It was good, but not great for me. I’ve tried and liked other Covergirl mascaras better. Review is here.

So did you finish up many products over the past couple of months?

Quo Beauty Hydrating Facial Serum – This was a nice hyaluronic acid based serum. It’s budget friendly. I would purchase again eventually.

Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow Pencil – I have purchased this brow pencil several times since 2018, when Wet N Wild was cruelty free. I will not re-purchase unless they return to cruelty free status.

Essence Micro Precise Brow Pencil – I loved this micro-brow pencil. I would re-purchase.

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Waterproof Mascara by LashBlast Review

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a review of the Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Waterproof Mascara by LashBlast – I purchased it a few weeks ago and have been testing it out. [info in italics taken from the Covergirl Canada website and from the packaging]

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Waterproof Mascara

Full Lash Bloom Waterproof Mascara gives you exceptional lash fullness that’s soft even to the touch and is perfect for everyday wear. With our new petal-shaped brush and mousse formula with natural beeswax, lashes are never stiff or brittle. So bring out every last lash, and embrace you in full bloom!

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Waterproof Mascara

Full Lash Bloom brush, with short and long bristles, creates volume from root to tip and combs and coats lashes evenly for full separated volume. Waterproof formula provides volume that stays soft to the touch all day.

Based on the description of the Full Lash Bloom Mascara, this sounds like a great mascara for me. If you’ve been reading abrashattitude.com for awhile, you will know that I am picky about mascara. I have long, super stick-straight lashes that are quite light in colour considering my natural hair colour is dark brown. I use a lash curler and I need a mascara will hold a curl. My eyes are sensitive, and water easily so any mascara that I use must be smudge proof, and at least water-resistant.

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Waterproof Mascara

I have seven requirements for a mascara, and I’ll comment on each requirement and score each point. So how did the Full Lash Bloom Mascara measure up?

1. waterproof / water resistant +1 Waterproof!

2. smudge-proof +1 No smudging!

3. non-flaking / non-clumping +1 No flakes or clumps!

4. must be DARK black (not blackish, not brown black, and definitely not grey black) +1 Super dark black!

5. volumizing +1/2 The volume was ok. Not the full volume that I was hoping for.

6. must hold a curl +1/2 Did not hold a curl as well as I had hoped. Surprising for a waterproof formula, usually they hold a curl much better.

7. non-irritating to my sensitive eyes +1

Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Waterproof Mascara

Overall I would give this mascara a 6 out of 7. If it held a curl better and had better volume, I would have scored it higher. I like it, but it’s definitely not a holy grail mascara for me. If the mascara starts to perform better as it dries out a bit, I will re-evaluate my score.

Have you tried this mascara, did you like it?

Covergirl The Super Sizer Big Curl Mascara Waterproof Review

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a review of the Covergirl The Super Sizer Big Curl Mascara Waterproof in the shade Very Black that I purchased awhile back in my little haul from Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty [info in italics taken from the Shoppers website].

Super-sized curl and volume in an instant! Use COVERGIRL’s Big Curl Mascara for evenly-coated, lifted lashes from root to tip. Your curled lash look will last all day!

Based on the description of the Covergirl The Super Sizer Big Curl Mascara Waterproof, this sounds perfect for me. If you’ve been reading abrashattitude.com for awhile, you will know that I am admittedly so mega picky about mascara. I have long, super stick-straight lashes that are quite light in colour considering my natural hair colour is dark brown. I need to use a lash curler and I need a mascara that holds a curl. My eyes are sensitive, and water easily so any mascara that I use must be smudge proof, and water-resistant.

I have seven requirements for a mascara, and I’ll comment on each requirement and score each point. So how did the Covergirl The Super Sizer Big Curl Mascara Waterproof measure up?

1. waterproof / water resistant  +1

2. smudge-proof +1

3. non-flaking / non-clumping +1

4. must be DARK black (not blackish, not brown black, and definitely not grey black) +1 Super dark black, MEGA!

5. volumizing +1/2 Sadly this mascara is not as volumizing as I had hoped – may it will improve as the mascara dries out a bit, if so, I will update the score.

6. must hold a curl +1 Holds a curl really well!

7. non-irritating to my sensitive eyes +1

The brush is a curved, needle type bristle brush – gets all the lashes, even the tiny lashes at the inner corner. Overall I would give this mascara a 6.5 out of 7 – very close, but not quite Holy Grail status.

Have you tried this mascara, did you like it?

Empties January 2021

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have my empties for the month of January. I will link to the original reviews, and let you know whether or not the product is something that I would purchase / or re-purchase.

Skincare:

Indeed Labs Retinol Reface – I really liked this retinol serum, and would buy it again eventually. There are a few retinol serums on my list of products to try.

Be On Me Face Serum – This was a PR / sponsored review product, but I really liked it a lot. I used it every morning before my moisturizer for an added hydration boost. I would purchase this eventually – I have a list of serums that I want to try, so it might take awhile.

Eco by Sonia Driver Super Citrus Cleanser – This was one of the cleansers from my Cert Clean / Clean Beauty Awards judging package. I loved this one, and I would purchase it eventually.

Volition Beauty Strawberry-C Serum – This was gifted to me by a friend. Such a beautiful vitamin C serum! I am using another C based serum from my stash, but I would purchase this one eventually.

Grace & Stella Hello Hydration – This is a great, lightweight serum from my CAUSEBOX subscription. I would purchase this one for summer hydration boosting.

Makeup:

Covergirl Lash Blast Active Mascara – I really liked this mascara, the longer I used it, the more I liked it. I’m currently testing out two new mascaras, so no need to re-purchase at the moment.

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector – I’ve been buying this under eye brightening concealer since 2016, so unless I find something that works better, I’ll purchase this again.

Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored Waterproof Mascara – Another great mascara from Covergirl. I’m actually testing another waterproof mascara from Covergirl at the moment, so no need to re-purchase.

So there you have it – all of my empties for the month of January!

Covergirl Clean Fresh Skin Milk Foundation Review

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a review of the Covergirl Fresh Skin Milk Foundation – I’ve already reviewed the matching pressed powder, and now I’ve finally purchased and tested the foundation. [info in italics taken from the Covergirl Canada website]

Show off fresh, healthy skin with COVERGIRL Clean Fresh Skin Milk. Formulated without formaldehyde, phthalates, parabens, sulfates and talc, this lightweight nourishing liquid foundation gives your skin the moisture boost it craves with a delicate infusion of milky coconut and soothing aloe. You’ll experience a glowing, dewy finish that lasts all day long, blurring imperfections and creating a more even skin tone. Pro-tip: Use COVERGIRL TruBlend Face Primer before applying for an even more flawless finish.

The foundation is available in 14 shades, ranging from Porcelain to Dark. I still think that the shade range could be expanded more. I purchased the shade 520 Fair, as the lightest shade looked too light for me.

Shadewise, I think that Fair is pretty close to my natural skin tone. This foundation is super lightweight and hydrating and the finish is very natural looking and radiant. The coverage is light, but buildable, and it evens out my skintone. I think that this is a good choice if your skin is on the normal to dry side. I’m not sure if the dewy finish would work for oily skin.

Have you tried this foundation?

Covergirl Clean Fresh Pressed Powder Review

Covergirl Clean Fresh Pressed Powder

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a review of the Clean Fresh Pressed Powder from Covergirl [info in italics taken from the Covergirl website]

Covergirl Clean Fresh Pressed Powder is talc-free and formulated with tapioca and aloe vera powder to absorb oil and deliver fresh, natural-looking skin. The 100% vegan pressed powder makes pores less visible, so skin looks and feels smooth. Apply the powder with the included vegan foam puff for easy application. Covergirl Clean Fresh Pressed Powder is formulated without phthalates, mineral oil, formaldehyde, talc, parabens, or sulfates. Pro-tip: Pair the face powder with Covergirl Clean Fresh Skin Milk for a flawless finish that lasts all day.

This pressed powder is available in 6 shades – 100 translucent, 120 fair, 140 light, 160 medium, 180 tan and 200 rich – not a wide range of shades – kind of ridiculous really. I purchased the shade 140 light and it is perfect for me.

This is a really smooth pressed powder and it looks natural on my skin. I like it a lot!

Have you tried this pressed powder?

Covergirl Lash Blast Active Mascara Review

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A BRASH ATTITUDE!

Today I have a review of the Covergirl Lash Blast Active Mascara in the shade Extreme Black. I purchased it recently and have been testing it out. [info in italics taken from the Covergirl website & from the packaging]

Covergirl Lash Blast Active

Lash Blast Active Mascara gives an instant boost of volume that can’t be stopped—offering up to 24 hour wear that won’t let you down! The formula is sweat-proof, smudge-proof and clump-proof ready to take you through your day. The brush provides easy application, control and separation due to the alternating bristle lengths and the brush shape that hugs the lash line. Suitable for contact lens wearers and ophthalmologically tested.

Based on the description, this mascara sounds perfect for me. If you’ve been reading abrashattitude.com for awhile, you will know that I am admittedly mega picky about mascara. I have long, super stick-straight lashes that are quite light in colour considering my natural hair colour is dark brown. Normally I always use a lash curler before applying mascara but I’ve recently had my very first lash lift and tint, so my curler is stashed away, and no waterproof formulas for me. My eyes are sensitive, and water easily so any mascara that I use must be smudge proof, and water-resistant.

I have seven requirements for a mascara, and I’ll comment on each requirement and score each point. So how did the Covergirl Lab Blast Active Mascara measure up?

1. waterproof / water resistant  – Not waterproof, but it withstood my watery eyes, so quite water-resistant +1

2. smudge-proof +1

3. non-flaking / non-clumping +1

4. must be DARK black (not blackish, not brown black, and definitely not grey black) +1 Super mega black, MEGA!

5. volumizing +1/2 to 3/4 depending on whether I do one or two coats.

6. must hold a curl +1 I’ve had a lash lift done, but the mascara did not make my lashes droop. I may change this score once my lash lift wears off and I test it with my lashes in their normal state.

7. non-irritating to my sensitive eyes +1

Covergirl Lash Blast Active Mascara

The brush is one of those narrow flexible needle type brushes (what is this mascara brush type called), which I’m not usually a fan of, but this one is great for getting all my lashes, even the teeny ones! Overall I would give this mascara a 6.5 to 6.75 out of 7 – veering towards holy grail status!

Have you tried this mascara, did you like it?

Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored Mascara Review

Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored Mascara Waterproof

Hello, hello! Welcome back to A BRASH ATTITUDE!

Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored 1

Today I have a review of the Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored Mascara in the Waterproof Formula. I purchased it recently and have been testing it out. [info in italics taken from the Covergirl website & from the packaging]

Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored 2

Go ahead, be bold with COVERGIRL Exhibitionist Uncensored Mascara. Available in waterproof and non-waterproof varieties, this ultra-volumizing mascara creates full, defined lashes after just one coat. Infused with decadent coconut and jojoba oils, this mascara won’t smudge or flake out on you. Keep the lash party going day and night with uninhibited, show-stopping volume!

  • Gives eye opening effect
  • Lengthens, lifts & separates lashes
  • Waterproof. Smudge-Proof. Clump-Proof.
  • Suitable for sensitive eyes

Sounds like the perfect mascara for me when you compare the claims with my requirements. If you’ve been reading abrashattitude.com for awhile, you will know that I am admittedly mega picky about mascara. I have long, super stick-straight lashes that are quite light in colour considering my natural hair colour is dark brown. I always use a lash curler before applying mascara. My eyes are sensitive, and water easily so any mascara that I use must be smudge proof, and water-resistant (ideally waterproof).

Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored 3

I have seven requirements for a mascara, and I’ll comment on each requirement and score each point. So how did the Exhibitionist Uncensored Mascara measure up?

1. waterproof / water resistant  +1

2. smudge-proof +1

3. non-flaking / non-clumping +1

4. must be DARK black (not blackish, not brown black, and definitely not grey black) +1 Super mega black!

5. volumizing +1/2 Decent volume but not as much as I had hoped!

6. must hold a curl +3/4 I think that this score might improve once the mascara dries out a bit as it is a fairly wet formula.

7. non-irritating to my sensitive eyes +1

Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored Mascara Waterproof

The brush is large (but not gigantic), which I’m a fan of. Overall I would give this mascara a 6.25 out of 7 – pretty great, and I think my opinion will improve once the formula dries out a bit.

Have you tried this mascara, did you like it?
