Cumulative Empties Aug to Dec 2020 – Hair, Body and Makeup

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Earlier this week I shared my cumulative skincare empties, and today I have my haircare, body care an makeup empties (not decluttered makeup, that was a separate post). I didn’t finish up nearly as much in these categories as I did with my skincare stash, but I still feel like I’m making progress in using up products. I will link to my original reviews and let you know if it is something I would purchase / re-purchase or not (by purchase I mean eventually, as my goal is to only buy products when necessary).

Hair and Body Care:

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Shampoo – This was a part of a larger PR package from the brand. The matching conditioner has a few uses left in it, so I’m sure it will be in my next round of empties. I really love the Perfect Repair Shampoo – it makes my hair so soft and healthy feeling. I would purchase a full size of this if I can get it here, or order online from a Canadian website.

MoMi Beauty Styling Jelly – This was from my Petit Vour subscription. I liked this a lot, it worked well for my wavy, frizz prone hair. I would love to get a full size of this eventually – once I use up my current stash of styling products.

Sothys Pro-Youth Body Serum – This was a PR product. This is more like a rich body butter than a serum. Amazing for dry skin, and left my skin silky smooth. It is on the pricy side though, and I have a few body lotions / body butters to use up in my stash.

Makeup Empties:

Essence Cosmetics Lips Go Wow Plumping Lip Gloss – I LOVE this lip plumping gloss. It doesn’t sting or burn like a lot of lip plumpers. I plan on getting another one if they still have them at Shoppers / Pharmaprix.

Smashbox SuperFan Mascara – This was a free deluxe sample with purchase. Its a nice mascara, but didn’t hold a curl well for me, so I would not purchase a full size. I think that it is a great mascara if you don’t have stick straight lashes like I do!

So there you have it, the final empties for 2020. I’ve already finished up a few things this month, so I might return to a monthly empties format as long as I finish up a minimum of five products each month.

I’ll be back next week with some Bath and Body product reviews.

Cumulative Empties Aug to Dec 2020 – Skincare

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude! Happy New Year!

Today I have my cumulative empties from August until December – I’m not using up products as quickly as I used to, so haven’t been doing my monthly empties posts. Let’s take a look at all the skincare that I’ve finished up, and I’ll let you know if I plan to repurchase or not, and link to the original reviews.

Skincare:

Dermalogica Prisma Protect SPF 30 – I liked this travel sized sunscreen, it didn’t have a white cast on me and didn’t feel heavy or greasy. The full size is on the pricy side, so I would only re-purchase if on sale.

Moor Spa Cleansing Milk – This was from a PR package, and I really loved it. Creamy cleansers are so awesome for cold weather skincare. I would purchase this is I didn’t have so many cleansers to finish up.

Insensya Illuminate Serum – Another PR item. Quite possibly the best serum I’ve tried for all of 2020! At the top of my wishlist currently as I’ve a few serums to finish up.

Pacifica Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic – My skin hated this. I finished it up for cleaning up swatches as my face did not tolerate it.

5th Dimension Sub Rosa Serum – This was a nice oil-based serum. I have several oils and serums to use up, so no purchase for me at this time.

The Inkey List Bakuchiol and Polyglutamic Acid – The Bakuchiol was a good “starter” retinoid type serum cream, but I prefer something a little stronger. The Polyglutamic Acid made my skin feel nice and hydrated, but it smelled like paint (yuck). I don’t plan to repurchase, but have my eye on other products from the brand.

Cosmessential The Calm and B-Three Facial Serums – These were PR samples. Both were lovely – The Calm was great for when my skin was super sensitive, and B-Three was great for when my skin was “normal”. I have serums to use up, so no plans to purchase right now.

Goldfaden MD Vital Boost Moisturizer – I really liked this moisturizer, it was light yet hydrating and somewhat brightening. I have other moisturizers to finish up so no plan to purchase a full size.

Coming up later this week I have my Haircare, Bodycare and Makeup Finishes.

Empties February 2020

Hello, hello!

Another month of empties – I’m making slow but steady progress at using up the products in my stash! Becuase I’m on a low buy, I’ll let you know if I plan to re-purchase eventually, and link to my original reviews. Let’s take a look!

Skincare Empties:

Empties February 2020

Lowen’s Natural Skincare Classic Lime Margarita Lip Balm and In Yo Face! Natural BB Cream – these were both from an amazing PR package from Lowen’s – I LOVED both the lip balm and the BB Cream so much! I have a stash of lip balms and facial moisturizers to use up but would replace. Reviews are here and here.

Leahlani Bless Balm – this was from my Petit Vour subscription. I used it both as a lip balm and as a cuticle balm. It was really awesome. I have a few more multi-purpose balms in my stash to use up, so no need to replace just yet. Review was here.

Sothys Paris / Sothys Canada Hydra Smoothing Mask, Energizing Serum, and nO2ctuelle Detox Resurfacing Overnight Cream – all three of these were PR samples. All are excellent high end, spa quality skincare products, that despite being more scented than my personal preference, all worked well for my sensitive skin. I still have a few more masks, serums and moisturizers / creams to use up, so I do not need to replace these right now. Reviews are here, here and here.

Haircare, Makeup and Essential Oil Empties:

Empties Feb 2020

Briogeo Curl Charisma Defining Crème – I bought this ages ago (almost 2 years!), and I finally finished it! I really like this curl cream a lot, but have a few more hair products to use up, so I won’t be replacing right now. Review is here.

Now Essential Oils Cheer Up Buttercup! – I bought this last year I think. And the mister liked it so much, that he bought a replacement for me! I never did review this essential oil, but it is such a bright, sunshine-y citrus scent.

Nyx Total Control Drop Foundation – I really like serum type foundations because they feel so light on the skin. I’m currently using one from Juice Beauty and one from Nyx, so I won’t be replacing right now. Review is here.

Have you finished up much this past month? I’m super close to finishing up a shampoo, a conditioner, and two facial moisturizers already this month.

Empties October 2019

Empties Oct 2019 - Buck Naked Soap Company, Native Deodorant, The Seaweed Bath Co., Moon Rivers Naturals

Hello, hello!

Another month of empties that I managed to finish up from my stash. I’ll link to the original reviews and let you know if I would re-purchase or not (immediately or eventually).

Bath + Bodycare:

Empties Oct 2019 - Buck Naked Soap Company, Native Deodorant, The Seaweed Bath Co., Moon Rivers Naturals

Buck Naked Soap Company Geranium + Purple Clay Sugar Scrub – This was gifted to me, and I loved it so much. I plan on getting myself a replacement the next time I do a haul from well.ca. Review is here.

Native Deodorant Vanilla & Rose – I’ve been using Native for over a year now, and it works well for my body chemistry. I have a few in various scents in my stash, so no need to repurchase just yet. Reviews are here and the sensitive formula here.

The Seaweed Bath Co. Firming Detox Cream – This was from a recent Petit Vour box. I really liked this body cram a lot, and would love to have a full size. I have some other body lotions and creams to use up, so for now it is a wishlist item. Review is here.

Moon Rivers Naturals Peppermint Lava Salt Hand + Body Soap – This was also from a recent Petit Vour box. I loved this shower gel, it smelled so good. I have other soaps / shower gels to use up, so I won’t be buying a full size right now, but probably would eventually. Review is here.

Skincare + Makeup:

Empties Oct 2019 - Ursa Major, Covergirl, Lily Lolo, Goldfaden MD, Cosmessential

Ursa Major Bright & Easy Flash Mask – This was a Petit Vour box sample. I really loved this mask. It worked so well on my sensitive skin and made it look so bright! A definite wishlist item as I have more skincare to use up. Review is here.

Covergirl The Super Sizer Waterproof Mascara – This mascara was good, but not a holy grail for me, so I won’t repurchase this particular one, but will likely buy a different one from Covergirl to try. Review is here.

Lily Lolo Makeup Mist – This was a nice setting spray that came in my Petit Vour subscription, I used it more as a facial mist than as a makeup setting spray. I’m currently testing out another makeup setting spray and a few toner mists so no need to replace. Review is here.

Goldfaden MD Needle-less Line Smoothing Concentrate – Another Petit Vour sample that I loved! I’m still using up a few serums, but would love to eventually get a full size of this one! Review is here.

Cosmessential Essential C Serum – This was a PR sample. My skin loved this Vitamin C based serum, so onto the wishlist it goes as I have several serums that I need to finish up. Review is here.

Did you finish up much this month?

Empties – May 2018

Hello, hello!

I’m still working my way through my stash. This month I didn’t finish up a lot of things, but I still feel that I’m making progress. Let’s see what I managed to finish, and whether or not I will re-purchase:

Empties May 2018

Haircare

Empties May 2018

Attitude Super Leaves Nourishing & Strengthening Conditioner – I finished up the matching shampoo last month. I really liked both the shampoo and conditioner, but purchased the Color Protecting formula instead to try out. [Reviews for the Nourishing and Strengthening here, and Color Protecting here]

Bath & Body

Empties May 2018

Haus of Gloi Soft Bubbling Scrub in Splendiferous – I absolutely loved this scrub, and was using the smallest amount to try to make it last forever. It smells of white cake, lemon zest and sugared violets. I would repurchase this if it is available (seasonal scent) when my bath and body stash is fully used up. If this scent is not available, I’m sure that I would find another glorious scented scrub!

Schmidt’s Mineral Enriched Natural Deodorant in Charcoal and Magnesium – I really like this natural deodorant, it works well for my body chemistry, and it smells fresh. It also does not irritate my underarms like most baking soda based natural deodorants. I already had a spare in my stash, so I don’t need to re-purchase just yet. Review is here.

Make-up

Empties May 2018

Concrete Minerals Vegan Lip Tint in Gold Plated – I got this long before I started blogging, and really loved it. But then it got misplaced, and I only found it last week buried in a box in my home office. Sadly it was majorly dried out, so into the bin it goes!

Nyx HD Concealer in Fair – I really like this concealer, and have repurchased it several times in shades fair and porcelain. I have one more in my stash to finishing using up. I’ll probably repurchase once I finish up the other one. Review is here.

Essence The False Lashes Mascara Extreme Volume & Curl – Despite not being waterproof, this is one of my favourite mascaras! I already have a replacement! Review is here.

Essence Instant Volume Boost Mascara – I really liked this mascara when I first started using it, but after about 6 weeks it started to thicken and got clumpy and flaky – which for me is the worst, so into the bin it goes. I won’t be repurchasing. The original review is here (review to be updated since my opinion has changed since the original review).

Even though I did not finish up as many products as I had hoped, progress is progress!

Have you finish up many things this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: All products purchased by me!

December 2017 Empties

Hello, hello, happy new year!

I didn’t finish up as many products as I had hoped this month, but some progress is better than none at all!

Today marks my 500th blog post!

Dec 2017 Empties

Joik Gloss and Care Lip Oil (Huuleõli) – I bought this in Estonia in August, and I am sad that I’ve already finished it! I’m kicking myself for not buying several of these lip oils for my stash! The original review is here.

The Ordinary Buffet Serum – This is my second bottle of this serum, it works well for my sensitive skin. I’ll be re-purchasing a new one soon. The original review is here.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA – This is a great day or night moisturizer, lightweight yet hydrating and non-greasy. And it plays nicely with my foundation. I’ll re-purchase when I place my next order from The Ordinary. Original review is here.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Apple Brightening Cream *PR Sample* – I used this one as a night cream, great for winter weather. I have a few night creams to use up, so I don’t need to repurchase a night cream at this time. Original review is here.

Dec 2017 Empties

Were you able to finish up very many products this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: All PR samples identified. All opinions my own whether I purchased a product or not.

November Empties

Hello, hello!

I know that November isn’t over yet, but I also know that I am not close enough to finishing anything else in my stash. Any products that I finished from my Project Pan Collab are not included in these empties.

November Empties (2016)

As you can see, I only finished up a few products this month.

Makeup Empties:

November Empties (2016)

Nyx HD Studio Photogenic Foundation (reviewed here) – Would I buy it again? Probably not, but only because I’m only going to buy foundations / BB creams with SPF in them from now on. But despite this, this foundation worked great for my skin.

Nyx Dark Circle Corrector (reviewed here) -I didn’t actually finish this one, it is getting pitched because it dried out so badly that it is unusable. Would I buy again? Probably not as it didn’t work as well for me as the  Becca Undereye Brightening Corrector (reviewed here).

Nyx Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer (reviewed here) – Repurchase? Maybe. I really liked this concealer but it got pushed to the back of my stash when I was trying new concealers. It works great when my skin is normal, but not so great when my skin gets dry.

The Body Shop Wonderblur (reviewed here). I really liked this primer when I first purchased it. But when I used it recently, it was terrible and pilled when I wore it under my Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. Initially the two worked well together. Maybe it dried out? I’m not sure. Would I repurchase?  Probably not.

Body Care:

Nov Empties (2016)

Schmidt’s Natural Deodorant in Ylang-Ylang & Calendula – (reviewed here). Already repurchased, this time in Cedarwood & Juniper scent. This natural deodorant works great for me, but I can’t use it every single day as it will start to irritate my skin due to the baking soda content so I switch to one of the baking soda free natural deodorants in my stash on days when I’m working from home.

Cake Beauty Delectable Hand Cream in Strawberries & Cream – (reviewed here). Would I repurchase? Maybe, but in a different scent. This was a struggle to finish, because in spite of it being a really great hand cream, the scent was too much for me!

Earth Science Naturals Deodorant  in Mint Rosemary – (reviewed here). Would I repurchase? I probably will once I use up a few more deodorants in my stash. It works pretty well but not as well as the Schmidt’s. But it is great to use when my underarm skin needs a little break from the Schmidt’s as it doesn’t contain baking soda.

Haircare:

Nov Empties (2016)

CO LAB Dry Shampoo in Rio tropical scent – (reviewed here). I’ve been buying this one since last winter, and it made its first appearance in my March Empties post. Already repurchased. I think that I finish up one of these every couple of months. I like this one because it has a mild scent and doesn’t make my hair feel dried out that way that a lot of dry shampoos make my hair feel.

So there you have it, not very many empties, but I’m happy to be clearing out my stash.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

September 2016 Empties

Hello, hello!

I didn’t finish up as much as I thought I would this month – just four things.

September 2016 Empties

Cake Beauty Everything Balm – I really liked this balm, especially on the lips, and cuticles. Will I repurchase? Maybe, I have a bunch of stuff to use up first. My original review is here.

Sukin Foaming Facial Cleanser – I absolutely loved this cleanser, especially for summer. For colder weather, I tend to switch to creamy cleansers. I will probably purchase this gain in the spring / summer. My original review is here.

Essence Cosmetics I ❤ Extreme Volume Mascara (Waterproof) and Get Big Lashes (Waterproof) – GBL was my holy grail mascara for a long time, but I think that I actually like the I ❤ one better. Original reviews is here. I didn’t actually finish these mascaras, it was just time to replace them. They were sold out of both at my local Pharmaprix, so I need to check another store. In the meantime I’m testing out another mascara.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: All purchased by me except for the Cake Beauty Everything Balm which was a freebie from Generation Beauty in Toronto event (but I paid for the event ticket).

July 2016 Empties

Hello, hello!

July Empties 2016

I didn’t finish up that many products this month, so this will be a short one!

Haircare:

July Empties 2016

Rock Your Hair Spray It Clean Dry Shampoo * – This was a freebie from GenBeauty. I really liked this dry shampoo, but haven’t ever seen it in stores, so it is unlikely that I will purchase this (unless Sally Beauty opens a store here). Review is here.

Co Lab Sheer Invisible Dry Shampoo in Rio (tropical scent) – I’ve already purchased a replacement for this dry shampoo, it is my favourite one so far! I’ve never actually reviewed this, but it has been in several of my empties posts!

Alterna Caviar Repair Instant Recovery Conditioner – I’ve had this conditioner for YEARS. It is crazy thick and nearly impossible to squeeze conditioner out of the bottle – there is still a little bit in the bottle, but it refuses to come out. I don’t think that they are cruelty free, so I won’t be repurchasing this one unless I find out for sure.

Skincare:

Pacifica Malibu Lemon Blossom Super Hydrating Hand Cream – This one is great for dry skin, but is highly scented. If you are sensitive to scents, then this one might not be for you. I mostly used it on my feet, due to the scent being a little too much. I believe that this one was gifted to me. I’d like to try some of the other scents, but not right away as i’ve got quite a stash of hand creams to use up.

Skinfix Ultra Rich Hand Cream * – I love this stuff! It is so rich and hydrating, without being greasy. As an added plus, it is fragrance free. I’ll probably purchase this one in the colder months once I use up more of my stash. This was a freebie from GenBeauty. Review is here.

Sukin Hyrdrating Toner Mist – This one made it into my July Faves. I love this facial mist, it is so refreshing and soothing. It has a mild rose scent that I absolutely love. I’ve already repurchased this one. Review is here.

Make-Up:

July Empties3

Essence Prettifying Lip Oil – I purchased this at the Essence booth at GenBeauty. I really loved this lip oil. I will repurchase it if I find it in a store. Review is here.

Tarte Lipsurgence Natural Matte Lip Tint – To be honest, I’ve had this for YEARS. After reading Stashy’s blog post about her makeup purge, I decided to go through all of my lip products to check to see if any of them had gone off. This one was the only one – the minty scent is still there, but slightly off, and the sides are discoloured, so it is time to pitch this one. I have several red lipsticks in my stash, so I don’t need to replace this one any time soon.

Have you finished up many things this month? I just hit pan on my Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation – I wonder how long it will take me to finish it?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: Freebies / PR samples identified with *. Everything else has been purchased by  me, or gifted to me (from family or friend).
