Blissoma Refine Clay Renewal Treatment Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Blissoma Refine Clay Renewal Treatment that came in my April Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Blissoma Refine Clay Renewal Treatment

The mask base is Rhassoul clay, mined from lava clay beds in Morocco. […]  Rhassoul has been shown to improve the appearance of skin flakiness and texture, improve hydration, improve the appearance of coloration, and improve the appearance of skin irritations.[…] Willowbark and raw organic Celery Juice aid with gentle, non mechanical exfoliation to keep pores deeply cleansed and unclogged. Live enzymes and mild compounds like the salicins in Willowbark gently dissolve away dead skin cells even without scrubbing. Herb extracts of organic Chickweed and Fennel further draw out impurities and deep clean pores. Organic Roses, Olive Leaf, and Echinacea improve the appearance of skin’s tone and firmness.

Blissoma Refine Clay Renewal Treatment

This mask is highly recommended for troubled and acne prone skin types. Refine keeps pores softened and open by removing dead skin cells and balancing hydration. You can dot it on a blemish and leave it on overnight to reduce the visible appearance of redness and swelling in breakouts. Unrefined Oils of organic Cranberry seed and organic Red Raspberry straight from pressing offer nourishment and natural source Vitamin E. Clay products are often not recommended for dry skin types because they tend to over-absorb oil from the skin, leaving skin uncomfortable. With Refine even dry skin types can enjoy Blissoma’s clay creation because of how they have balanced the clay with oils and liquid herb extracts.

Blissoma Refine Clay Renewal Treatment

It is no secret that I love facial masks, and this one definitely does not disappoint! It really works to deep clean my sensitive skin without causing it to dry out or become irritated. And it works amazingly well as an emergency spot treatment when a surprise pimple pops up! I think that this facial mask would probably work for all skin types, unless you have an allergy or sensitivity to one of the ingredients.

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask from Formulary 55 that came in my October Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

Detoxify and soften naturally with this gentle pink clay facial mask. This blend will draw out toxins without over drying the skin. Suitable for all skin types.

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

This facial mask has minimal ingredients, making it a good option for sensitive and other skin types – unless you have an allergy or sensitivity to one of the ingredients.

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | French white and pink clay, rosehip powder, ground comfrey root, and organic rose geranium essential oil

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

I am a huge fan of facial masks, I love that this one is in powder form as it means less packaging. Another benefit to a powder formulation is that it gives you the choice of what type of liquid to add to the powder to mix with your mask.

This mask performs similarly to most clay based masks, it feels tight as it dries – but my skin felt so clean, and not at all irritated or dried out after removing. All in all, I think that this is a great facial mask.

Do you like clay based facial masks?

Goldfaden MD Facial Detox Purifying Mask

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Goldfaden MD Facial Detox Purifying Mask that came in my June Petit Vour subscription box. [info in italics from the Petit Vour website]

Goldfaden MD Facial Detox Purifying Mask

Dr. Goldfaden’s purifying mask works to draw out dirt and pore clogging debris to reveal skin that looks clear and appears flawless. Developed to use as an overall facial mask, this powerhouse formula works to unveil a clearer-looking, radiant, even-toned complexion.

  • Leaves skin looking even and appearing balanced
  • Cleans blemish-prone skin and minimizes the appearance of pores
  • Soothes and calms appearance

On the tube itself it says that it is for oily and acne prone skin – of which I’m not really either skintype, so I decided to use this as more for spot masking.

Goldfaden MD Facial Detox Purifying Mask

This mask strongly smells of camphor – my eyes watered so much when I first applied the mask to my nose and chin! I left it on for 10 minutes before washing it off – and wow, this stuff really does clear your pores!

I’m going to continue to use it for my nose and chin, and for helping to clear occasional hormonal breakouts.

The sample tube is 30ml / 0.68oz – so it is big enough to get tons of usage. The full size is listed at $65 USD, for 50ml / 1.7oz.

Goldfaden MD Facial Detox Purifying Mask

100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Deionized Water, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Seed Oil, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Colloidal Sulfur, Camphor, Salicylic Acid, Bentonite, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract, Strelitzia Nicolai Seed Aril Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Juice Extract, Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract, Sophora Japonica Flower Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Lepidium Sativum Sprout Extract, Lecithin, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

Shamanuti Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Review

Hello, hello and happy Friday!

Today I have a review of the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask from Shamanuti that I received in my October Petit Vour subscription box. I’ve had a chance to try this several times now, and feel ready to let you know what I think. [all info in italics is from the Petit Vour website]

Shamanuti Pumpkin Enzyme Masque

WHAT IT IS:
A pumpkin facial masque, rich with nutrients

WHAT IT DOES:
• Transforms dull complexions into brighter, healthier skin
• Rejuvenates skin while preserving its natural, protective mantle

This Pumpkin Masque is rich in natural antioxidants, enzymes and over 100 beneficial nutrients, which increase the rate of cell renewal, transforming dull complexions to bright and healthy skin. Comparable to the effects of alpha hydroxyl acids, this organic face masque rejuvenates skin while preserving its natural protective mantle.

Shamanuti Pumpkin Enzyme Masque

I’ve tested out and reviewed a few pumpkin based facial masks previously – the Pumpkin Honey Glycolic Mask from Anadalou Naturals (review is here) and the Incredible Pumpkin Peel from MyChelle Dermaceuticals (here), so I was excited to try this one out.

Shamanuti Pumpkin Enzyme Masque

Masks have acids or enzymes in them usually tingle when applied – and this one does tingle a bit. For me, it is within the tolerable range, and not in the danger zone of face melting. If you have sensitive skin or sensitivity to acids / enzyme based products ALWAYS DO A PATCH TEST before trying on your face. Trust me on this one.

Your skin will glow after using this mask. And it looks and smells like pumpkin pie filling – which I love! My skin does not feel dry or stripped after using.

Shamanuti Pumpkin Enzyme Masque

I only have one complaint about this mask – the pump in the sample size clogs easily due to the thickness / texture of the mask which is annoying. So I just take the pump off and use it to scoop the mask out of the bottle. The packaging for the full size looks similar to the sample size, so it might be an issue.

100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Cucurbita pepo (Pumpkin), Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Fruit Extract, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Acer Saccharinum (Sugar Maple) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Extract, Aqua (Water), Vegetable Glycerin, Glycolic Acid, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Sodium Benzoate, Glucolactone, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Oil, Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide Gum), Cinnamomum Cassia (Cinnamon) Bark, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Powder, Myristica Fragrans (Nutmeg) Powder, Pimenta Officinalis (Allspice) Powder, Rosmarinus Officnalis (Rosemary Oleoresin), Azadirachta Indica (Neem) Oil

The full size is listed on the Petit Vour website at $42 USD for 4 fluid ounces.

Mini Birthday Haul Part 2 – Herbivore, Tarte

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the samples (both deluxe and regular) from my mini haul (descriptions in italics are taken from the Sephora website):

The first of which I got using a promo code – the Herbivore Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask – this one has been on my wish list to try for ages!

Herbivore Blue Tansy

This mask is designed to clarify and resurface skin with soothing blue tansy, naturally resurfacing white willow bark, and gently exfoliating fruit enzymes. It leaves skin soft and renewed, and skin gains increased clarity and smoothness with continual use.

Herbivore Blue Tansy

This is a lovely blue gel type facial mask. I did a patch test on my arm before testing it on my face, as I wasn’t sure how my skin would react. It really is a cooling and soothing mask, and my skin feels so soft and smooth after using. I’m sure that the increase in clarity will come with continued use. I’ll be adding the full size version to my wish list!

The second deluxe sample I got with my Beauty Insider points – the Tarte Brighter Days Highlighting Moisturizer.

Tarte Brighter Days Highlighting Mascara

Give skin a natural-looking glow with Brighter Days Highlighting Moisturizer. This lightweight facial lotion is formulated with 70 percent water and light-reflecting mineral pigments to quench dull, dehydrated skin while delivering a sheer veil of illumination and radiance. The sweat-resistant formula is perfect for before or after the gym, or even for faking an afterglow without the sweat session. It can be worn alone or under your makeup for a subtle sheen. This hypoallergenic multitasker works to soften, smooth, and deliver a long-lasting surge of moisture without clogging pores.

This is a nice light moisturizer with very fine mica in it that helps add radiance to the skin. Very gentle, and non-greasy. Will I buy a full size? It is nice, but isn’t a must have for me.

Now onto the free samples – perfumes – both have rose notes, perfect for spring!

Chloe:

The fragrance transfigures the mythic rose, infusing it with a resolutely urban spirit. Combined with magnolias and generous peonies, the rose becomes both honey-like and powdery; its petals blossom on the skin. Cheeky, free, and sophisticated, the scent breaks every boundary and vibrates with a woody tone—a signature rose that has become a legend.

I’m in love with this perfume, I love the rose notes in this one.

Stella:

The unique scent opens with top notes of fresh mandarin and frozen lemon, balanced with watery tones of freesia to create a soft, dewy feeling. An infusion of Bulgarian rose essence, crunchy violet leaves, and delicate peony petals brings a freshness to the feminine floral heart, while ambergris base notes reveal a subtle masculine undertone.

This is a perfume that I’ve always liked on other people but never really liked on myself. Until now! This one is also so lovely! I don’t know which one I love more!

Have you tried any of these items?

Pur~lisse Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing another one of my recent Ipsy Glam Bag products – the Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant from Pur~lisse. I’ve gotten several products from the Blue Lotus line and they agreed with my sensitive skin, so I was rather excited to try this one out!

Pur~lisse Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant

Here’s a little info about the product from the Pur~lisse website:

A 10 minute facial treatment designed with Blue Lotus Seeds, White Clay, Bamboo, Ginger, White Tea and Mushroom Extract. This miracle multi-tasker instantly brightens, detoxifies, tightens and soothes skin while providing gentle exfoliation. Our power blend improves skin texture and leaves it visibly youthful & glowing.

Benefits:

~Blue Lotus extract is a powerful antioxidant known for it’s anti-inflammatory benefits ~White Clay tightens skin & purifies pores ~Bamboo improves skin texture ~Ginger detoxifies ~Mushroom extract helps to brightening skin tone ~White Tea soothes skin~Rice Bran Water improves skin texture

Pur~lisse Blue Lotus Seed Mud Mask + Exfoliant

I love facial masks, especially mud based ones, but there is something in this mask that does not quite agree with my skin. I did a patch test on my neck without any problem, but on my face, it felt a little tingly – not a burning tingle, but more like the start of itchiness. It did not turn into full on itchiness, thankfully, but definitely felt like I was on the cusp of a skin reaction.

I also found that this mask was super hard to rinse off, it took forever to get it all off my face. Afterwards, my skin did not look any better than it did before applying the mask.

Sadly this one did not work for my sensitive skin. I was surprised since everything else that I’ve tried from this range were great and worked well for me.

Have you tried this facial mask? Did it work for you?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask Review

Hello, hello!

Sorry for the lateness of today’s blog post, my poor laptop is having some problems, eep!

Onto the review!

Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask

I’ve tried the Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask long before I started blogging, and when I got it in my December Ipsy Glam bag, I felt that I should finally review it. The description in italics is taken from the Sephora website:

What it is:
An instant complexion-perfecting mask that brightens and renews skintone and texture, minimizes pores, diminishes hyperpigmentation, and reduces the appearance of fine lines in as little as 10 minutes.

What it is formulated to do:
A cocktail of four acids including glycolic acid from pinneapple, lactic acid from passion fruit, citric acid from lemon, and tartaric acid from grape create multiaction exfoliation. It lifts dead skin and resurfaces to dramatically improve skintone, texture, firmness, and radiance, while minimizing the appearance of pores and reducing sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and old acne scars.

This is one of the few acid peel type masks that my sensitive skin can handle – which funny because it says that it is not recommended for people with sensitive skin! As always, if you have sensitive skin, don’t forget to do a patch test on your arm or neck before trying it on your face.

Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask

My skin is always so fresh and bright looking after using it. At $68 (Canadian) for the full size, it is on the expensive side, but a little goes a long way. I’ve gotten several uses (at least three so far) from my deluxe sample sized tube, and I’d guess that I’m not even half way through it.

Have you tried this? Do you have a fave acid type peel / mask?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
