Facial Oil Edit – Greenvines and AYSWE

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Facial Oil Edit Greenvines and AYSWE

If you follow me on InstaGram, you will remember that I was on the 2021 Cert CleanClean Beauty Awards” judging panel for a second year in a row, and my category was facial oils. I was sent a box of facial oils to test out and rate as a part of the jury. I wanted to show you two of the facial oils that I still use on a regular basis – the Greenvines Know More Resilience Facial Oil and the AYSWE Hydrate and Glow Facial Oil with Squalane. I’ve been using them both since the beginning of May. [info in italics taken from their respective websites]

Let’s take a look at the Greenvines Know More Resilience Facial Oil:

Facial Oil Edit Greenvines and AYSWE

Formulated with a skin-mimicking, light-weight oil complex, and featuring the award-winning Marine Bamboo that leave the skin feeling contoured with an iridescent glow, not weary and dull. Know more deep nourishment and no more inefficient absorption.

And now the AYSWE Hydrate and Glow Facial Oil with Squalane (certified safer skincare by CertClean):

Facial Oil Edit Greenvines and AYSWE

A lightweight oil formulated with organic babassu oil, argan oil, sugarcane-derived Squalane and other nourishing ingredients like vitamin E, black tea to soften and deeply moisturize skin. It also works to even out dull skin and keep skin elastic. This natural oil packs your skin with antioxidants and fatty acids without leaving a greasy feeling, making it suitable for all skin types, even oily and combination skin. Hydrate & Glow oil seamlessly absorbs into skin and is perfect for day or night time application.

Facial Oil Edit Greenvines and AYSWE

Both of these facial oils contain squalane, which is probably why my skin loves them so much. Both are lightweight, non-greasy, quick to absorb and give my skin a healthy glow. Love them!

Both brands claim to be vegan and cruelty free. Where they differ is in pricepoint – the Greenvines sells for $76 USD, and AYSWE sells for $42 USD – both are sold in 30ml / 1oz glass bottles.

5th Dimension Sub Rosa Serum Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the 5th Dimension Sub Rosa Serum that came in my December Petit Vour subscription box. I finally got around to testing it out in mid-January! [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

5th Dimension Sub Rosa Serum

Sub Rosa is a blend of highly concentrated antioxidant and omega fatty acid oils infused with rose petals to refresh and replenish skin’s complexion.  Non-comedogenic, this face oil requires just a few drops to hydrate, soften, regulate oil production, and soothe inflammation.

5th Dimension Sub Rosa Serum

  • Rose – used topically, rose promotes cell regeneration, astringent and regulates oil production, all while balancing skin’s PH to create a healthier skin biome. Rose promotes self love and protection.
  • Hemp Seed Oil – omega fatty acids, linoleic acid and oleic acid minimize visible damage due to free radicals. This nutrient dense oil regulates sebum production, making it ideal for all skin types. Its anti-inflammatory properties soothe redness and irritation.
  • Rosehip Seed Oil – highly concentrated with omega fatty acids & antioxidants to repair and protect skin against visible damage.

5th Dimension Sub Rosa Serum

I especially like to add a few drops of this serum / oil into my moisturizer for an added boost of hydration. It is gentle, soothing and feels lightweight on the skin – not greasy or heavy.

I love that it has minimal ingredients. I can see this working for all skin types – unless you have an allergy or sensitivity to one of the ingredients. The scent is very mild and herbal – I can smell the hemp seed oil, clary sage and frankincense but not the rose.

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan|Hemp Seed (Cannabis sativa) Oil*, Rose* (Rosa sp.), Rosehip (Rosa canina) Seed Oil*, Essential Oils of Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea), Frankincense (Boswellia sp.) | *Certified Organic

Hello, hello!

Today I’m sharing my review of The Timeless Oil from the Poetic Blend giveaway that I recently won. I’ve already reviewed The Hero Oil [info in italics taken from the Poetic Blend website]

Poetic Blend The Timeless Oil

Defying age and time, The Timeless oil is blended with precious plant-based oils that deliver optimal hydration and essential fatty acids which help the skin retain moisture and increase skin cell growth.

Poetic Blend The Timeless Oil

Formulated especially for dry to mature skin types. A unique blend of Rosehip, Argan and Sea buckthorn oil combine to fight free radical damage, plump dehydration lines, soften the appearance of wrinkles, and brighten dark spots. Our fast absorbing formula melts into the skin to deliver essential omega fatty acids and antioxidants.

Poetic Blend The Timeless Oil

This facial oil is AMAZING. It is super hydrating and has loads of awesome properties (plumping, softening, brightening). I know that I’ll be getting a lot of use from this one now that the weather is getting colder. My skin tends to need a lot more moisture during the winter months. It plays nicely with my moisturizer and foundation – which is always a great thing!

Disclosure: I won this in a giveaway, and because I love skincare, you know that I’m going to share my experience!

Poetic Blend The Hero Oil Review

Poetic Blend The Hero Oil

Hello, hello!

Today I’m sharing my review of The Hero Oil from Poetic Blend that I won in their recent InstaGram giveaway that I showed here on Monday. [info in italics taken from the Poetic Blend website]

Poetic Blend The Hero Oil

This heroic elixir uses a natural blend of precious botanical oils that helps to rescue skin in need of relief from inflammation and other sensitivities. Supremely lightweight and contains soothing and calming properties, it also promotes healing and reparation. The Hero oil is always up for a fight.

Poetic Blend The Hero Oil

The Hero dry oil balances and tones normal/oily to blemish prone skin types with a potent blend of Jojoba, Grape Seed, Evening Primrose, and Black Currant seed oils. With a structure most similar to the skin’s natural sebum, Jojoba regulates the production of facial oils. Black Currant, Evening Primrose, and Grape seed oils deliver a potent dose of antioxidants that  fight free radical damage, brighten the complexion, and soothe irritation.

Poetic Blend The Hero Oil

The Hero Oil is lightweight, and absorbs into the skin quickly. It works so well for my sensitive skin as it really does help keep things calm and irritation free. It plays nicely with serums, moisturizers and with my foundation. Because it is a dry oil, it doesn’t leave a greasy feeling on the skin.

Disclosure: I won this in a giveaway, but because I love skincare so much, I had to share my experience!

Osea Essential Hydrating Oil Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a reveiw of the Essential Hydrating Oil from Osea that came in my July Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Osea Essential Hydrating Oil

This ultra-hydrating botanical oil restores a healthy luster to the skin. Naturally rich Jojoba and Sesame seed oils deliver advanced hydration, visibly reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. A precious blend of pure Lavender, Rosewood and Geranium essential oils provide a dewy, illuminated complexion and create a gorgeous aromatic allure. The perfect instant surge of hydration for a beautiful, radiant glow. Skin Type: All Skin Types / Age Defying

I love facial oils, and have been incorporating them more and more into my skincare routine. I’ve been using this one daily since it arrived even though we are in the midst of another heat wave – because although my skin isn’t as dry as it is in the winter, all the heat and sun does dry out my skin. This oil is light and hydrating, and absorbs fairly quickly into my skin. It plays nicely with my Juice Beauty CC Cream SPF30, and with my usual sunscreens  from LASPA SPF30 and Mychelle Dermaceuticals SPF28 and 30.

Osea Essential Hydrating Oil

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | *Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia) Seed Oil, *Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, *Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Thuja Occidentalis (Cedar Leaf) Oil, *Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Flower Oil, *Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Salvia Sclarea (Clary) Oil, *Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile) Flower, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) |*Certified Organic Ingredient

osea3.jpg

As you can see from the ingredient list, it is a blend of macadamia / sesame / jojoba seed oils and several essential oils. Scentwise, my nose picks up on the cedar and rosewood more than the other oils. It kind of reminds me of the Sensitive Elixir from Saje Naturals.

I really like this facial oil, I’m super happy that the sample size is quite good (0.34 oz / 10 ml) so I’ll be able to get several weeks of use from it!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Revitalising Face Oil Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Hydrating Revitalising Face Oil from Aromatherapy Associates that came in my January Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour January 2018

This facial oil nourishes and revitalizes the skin like a rich cream, yet absorbs instantly like a serum. This blend of luxurious essential oils and natural plant extracts restores vitality to dull skin. Frankincense essential oil helps to rejuvenate whilst Rose oil smooths and firms. Skin is left appearing radiant and glowing. Suitable for all skin types, perfect for dry or mature skin that needs a boost of vitality.

This facial oil is beautiful – super hydrating. And it really absorbs into the skin quickly without feeling heavy or greasy. I’ve been using it in the mornings after cleansing, before applying moisturizer. I haven’t experienced any problems in using this with my makeup.

Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Revitalising Face Oil

100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Fusanus Spicatus (Australian Sandalwood) Oil, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Oil, Parfum**, Boswellia Carterii (Frankincense) Oil, Tocopherol. | *Certified Organic / Natural Essential Oils.

It does however contain perfume in its ingredients – but it has not triggered any skin reactions, thankfully.

The full size sells for $64 USD for 15ml (0.5 fl oz) so it is a little on the pricy side. The sample value is listed as $15.20 USD for 3ml (0.1 fl oz). I have several facial oils in my stash, hopefully I’ll be able to use them all up before any of them go off!
