Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Antioxidant Serum from Juice Beauty that came in my April Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from Petit Vour website]

Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum

Clinically proven to help reduce free radicals up to 87%, this lightweight serum feeds your skin with vitamins and antioxidants from certified organic botanical juices, moisturizes with fatty acid-packed plant oils and smoothes the appearance of fine lines with peptides, alpha lipoic acid and CoQ10. The perfect daily vitamin to use after cleansing and before your moisturizer. A Daily Essential for all skin types.

Juice Beauty Antioxidant Serum

This is a very lightweight and hydrating serum that soaks into my skin quickly. You don’t need a lot to cover your entire face and neck. It works well with other products – moisturizer / face cream, sunscreen and foundations. I’ve been using it both morning and night for a few weeks now, and I have to say that I really love it, and will be adding it to my wishlist.

It has tons of skin friendly hydrating and skin firming ingredients. Very gentle on my sensitive skin.

Mini Project Pan – Serum Stash

Hello, hello!

As you all know, I’ve been trying to work my way through my stash and use things up each month. I have a few serums that are getting a little old, and I really want to commit to finishing them up before buying anything new (and before they go off).

All four of these serums only have approximately 1/4 left, and I’m hoping to finish them up by the end of April. Let’s take a look at what I discovered hiding at the back of my skincare shelf:

The Ordinary Serums - Project Pan

The Ordinary Argireline Solution 10% – originally reviewed here. I just started using this one again about two weeks ago.

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG – originally reviewed here. Another one that I’ve been using every morning under eye creams for about two weeks.

The next two, the Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% (Vitamin C) and Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion – original reviews here and here. I set these two aside when testing out some creams that had c and retinol in their formulations, because I didn’t want to overdo it ingredient-wise to prevent irritating my sensitive skin. I’m going to alternate between these two serums in my night-time skincare routine.

The Ordinary Serums - Project Pan

I’ll be checking in with my progress in a few weeks (on or before the end of April).

Goldfaden MD Brightening Elixir / Antioxidant Serum Review

Petit Vour December 2018

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Goldfaden MD Brightening Elixir / Antioxidant Serum that came in my December Petit Vour box [info in italics from the Petit Vour website].

Petit Vour December 2018

Dr. Goldfaden’s advanced brightening and antioxidant serum helps aid against the appearance of photoaging and free radical damage, while leaving skin feeling hydrated and looking radiant.

  • Works to boost skin moisture and calm appearance
  • Increases radiance and improves appearance of skin color and tone
  • Minimizes the appearance of fine lines

Goldfaden MD Brightening Elixir

I love facial serums, I think that they are an essential part of my skincare routine. Serums with brightening / radiance boosting and anti-aging properties are my favourite.

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Water, Glycerin, Cellulose Gum, Sodium Hyaluronate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Panthenol, Tocopherol, Ferulic Acid, Niacinamide

Goldfaden MD Brightening Elixir

The Brightening Elixir is a very watery, clear serum, and it soaks into the skin fairly quickly and doesn’t leave a tacky feeling. I feel that it adds a level of hydration to the skin as well, but since it is cold and wintery here in Quebec, I do use a facial oil and / or moisturizer for extra hydration.

I really like this serum a lot!

Poetic Blend The Warrior Serum + The Cosmic Serum Review

Poetic Blend - The Warrior Serum, The Cosmic Serum

Hello, hello!

Poetic Blend The Warrior Serum

This is a powerhouse serum, but at the same time is super gentle on my sensitive skin. I’ve been using this serum nightly after cleansing, and wake up with fresh and smooth skin. I love this one!

I’ve been using my sample of The Cosmic Serum in the mornings after cleansing, and before applying facial oil for an added hydration boost. It absorbs quickly and plays nicely with all of the facial oils, moisturizers and makeup that I’ve used with it.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: I won these in a giveaway, but because I love skincare, you know I’m going to share my experience!

Poetic Blend is a Canadian cruelty-free company:

All orders are made by hand, in fresh, small batches to maximize freshness. The prize was the Face Oil Collection – the Ghost Oil, the Hero Oil, and the Timeless Oil. But the owner slipped in a full size of the new Warrior Serum, as well as a sample of the Cosmic Serum.

Modern Skin Co. Advanced Repair Overnight Detox + Hydration Booster Review

Hello, hello!

I’ve been testing out the Advanced Repair + Overnight Detox + Hydration Booster Serum from Canadian company (Toronto based) Modern Skin Co. since the end of December when I met up with owner Lauralynn Baxter over the holidays. We chatted about skincare, makeup and cooking over coffee.  She gave me bunch of 3ml sample packs to try out (even more than pictured!), so many that I’ve still not managed to finish them all up despite nightly usage! [info in italics taken from the Modern Skin Co. website]

Modern Skin Co. Advanced Repair +

Advanced Repair + is an extremely lightweight gel-based concentrate containing powerful active ingredients that are scientifically formulated to detoxify, hydrate and restore radiance. A luxurious velvety texture blended with our signature delicate, yet intoxicating scent of ylang-ylang and sweet orange blossom create the ultimate sensory experience.  This concentrate is deeply absorbed into the skin resulting in visible re-hydration, radiance and skin that is plumper in appearance. Advanced Repair + infuses skin with the perfect complement of science and nature. Safe for use on sensitive skin.

Modern Skin Co. Advanced Repair +

TRULY MULTI-FUNCTIONAL SKINCARE

  • Low dosages of Glycolic and Salicylic Acid promote radiance and renewal of the skin through gentle cellular turnover.
  • Schisandra extract provides detoxification of tissue from environmental aggressors, as well as aiding in de-activating free-radicals by giving skin a powerful dose of anti-oxidants.
  • Botanical Hyaluronic Acid promotes intense hydration resulting in skin with a youthful and healthy appearance. With its ability to hold 1000 times its weight in water, Hyaluronic Acid is the most powerful natural moisturizing ingredient known to science.

Modern Skin Co. Advanced Repair +

As you all know I have sensitive skin, so as always, I did a patch test on my arm before testing it out on my face. The gel based serum is lightweight, but hydrating, and really does help with radiance, and I find that the plumping effect actually minimizes fine lines. It absorbs quickly into the skin.

The scent is very, very mild, with sweet orange blossom and ylang-ylang. Far less scented than a lot of the facial products on the market – which I fully appreciate!

July 2017 Empties

Hello, hello!

I did not finish up as many products as I had hoped for July, but some progress is better than no progress!

July 2017 Empties

As you can see, I’ve mostly finished hair care products this month. I was super close to finishing up several skin care products, but I guess that they will be in my August empties.

July 2017 Empties

Maui Moisture Nourish & Moisture + Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner* – originally reviewed here. I really loved this shampoo and conditioner, and would definitely buy it again, but I purchased the Shea Butter formulation to try out as its replacement.

CO LAB Dry Shampoo in Tokyo Scent – If you’ve been reading the blog for awhile, you will see the CO LAB Dry Shampoo appear in my empties on a fairly regular basis.  I usually buy the Rio scent, but it wasn’t in stock when I went to repurchase it, so I go this one instead. I’ll be repurchasing this one (or the Rio) soon.

July 2017 Empties

The Ordinary “Buffet” Multi Technology Peptide Serum – Originally reviewed here. I love this serum – it worked well for my skin. I plan on repurchasing this one along with a few new products to try out from The Ordinary.

Did you finish up many products this month? Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: Products marked with an asterix * are PR samples, the rest have been purchased by me.

Neal’s Yard Remedies Frankincense Intense Lifting Serum Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of a new Frankincense Intense Lifting Serum from Neal’s Yard Remedies, launching in May 2017. This is my first time trying anything from the brand, so I really did not know what to expect!

First of all, I want to show you the packaging –

The packaging is super luxe, I especially love the gold embossed logo on the navy ground.

Neal's Yard Remedies

I love that the serum comes in a cobalt glass dropper bottle, again with the gold stamped logo.

Here’s what it says about this serum (info in italics taken from the Neal’s Yard Remedies website):

NEW Frankincense Intense Lift Serum is our breakthrough mindful beauty solution harnessing the ancient power of frankincense and over 15 years of Neal’s Yard Remedies research into its amazing properties. Sustainably harvested frankincense, clinically proven to promote a feeling of wellbeing, is combined with our targeted lifting technology to help you age well and stress less. Plumping hyaluronic acid helps to smooth deep lines while the lifting technology of micro-algae, ribose and linseed oil helps to redefine your facial contours.* 83% agree their skin looks visibly lifted* 85% agree the aroma helps them feel less stressed* 83% agree their deep lines and wrinkles appear reduced, skin looks plumped*

This pale lemon yellow serum smells glorious, and roughly two drops are all you need to cover your entire face. It absorbs quickly into the skin. I’ve been using this serum twice a day for two and a half weeks now and my skin has never looked better! I can’t wait to see the results of longer term usage!

The Frankincense Intense Lifting Serum is probably the most luxurious product that I’ve ever put on my face! It is pricy though, at $149 CAD for 30 ml / 1.01 oz, but because you only need to use such a small amount each time, I can see the bottle lasting a long time.

Here’s the full ingredient list:

Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil*, Acacia Senegal Gum, Polyglyceryl-3 Rice Branate, Tapioca Starch*, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil*, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil*, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil*, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil*, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrolyzed Rhizobian Gum, Levulinic Acid, Ribose, Xanthan Gum, Sodium Levulinate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder*, Sodium Gluconate, Boswellia Sacra Resin Oil, Boswellia Sacra Gum Extract, Boswellia Sacra Resin Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Citric Acid, Curcuma Longa (Turmeric) Root Extract, Sodium Anisate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Potassium Sorbate, Tocopherol, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil*, Sea Water Extract, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Peel Oil*, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Extract, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Commiphora Confusa Resin Oil*, Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) Flower Oil*, Commiphora Myrrha Oil, Cylindrotheca Fusiformis Extract, Microcitrus Australasica Fruit Extract, Boswellia Neglecta Resin Oil*, Glyceryl Caprylate, p-Anisic Acid, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Dextran, Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3, Trifluoroacetyl Tripeptide-2, Limonene, Linalool, Farnesol, Geraniol. *Organically produced ingredients. Natural constituent of essential oils listed. Made with 71% organic ingredients.
