Formulary 55 Sea Mineral Foot Soak Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Sea Mineral Foot Soak from Formulary 55 that came in my February Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from Petit Vour website]

Formulary55 1

Perfect for tired feet, this fizzing foot soak is a wonderful way to end a long day. This peppermint and eucalyptus effervescent foot soak is made with pure essential oils and Dead Sea mineral salts.

To use, fill a small wash tub with water, drop in contents of envelope (each packet contains enough for 1-2 treatments), and soak your feet in the detoxifying blend.

Formulary 55 Sea Mineral Foot Soak

It is like a fizzy bath bomb, but for the feet. I love that it has minimal ingredients. This would be perfect for someone who is on their feet all day. Very relaxing and soothing.

The peppermint and eucalyptus give it such a fresh and relaxing scent – I often mix peppermint and eucalyptus essential oils on my diffuser because I love the two combined!

Formulary 55 Sea Mineral Foot Soak

100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Ground Dead Sea salts, sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, cornstarch, and essential oils.

Do you use foot soaks?

Unboxing & First Impressions Petit Vour February 2019

Hello, hello!

My February Petit Vour arrived on March 1st. I often show my Petit Vour box on my InstaGram, but here on the blog you will get the unboxing AND first impressions. Full reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to test things out. [all info in italics is taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour February 2019

Petit Vour is a cruelty-free and vegan monthly subscription box with four (occasionally five) products. The subscription is $18 USD a month in the US, $23 USD for Canada, and $25 USD for the rest of the world. With the exchange rate (@ 1.3478) my box cost me $31 CAD this month.

Let’s take a look at what was in the February Petit Vour box:

Antonym Natural Waterproof Eye Pencil in shade Brown $19 USD

Petit Vour February 2019

A creamy, Ecocert certified, waterproof eye pencil that offers professional performance. Soft and smooth application with rich color pay-off guaranteed to help you achieve the desired look, from a precise line to a perfect smudge for smoky eyes. The high content of moisturizing ingredients and natural antioxidants, marula oil, jojoba oil, candelilla and carnauba are excellent for sensitive skin.

I’m so happy that the eyeliner is brown and not black as I have quite a stash of black eyeliners. It comes with a sharpener too – which I love because I’m always misplacing my sharpener!

Shamanuti Seaweed Toner $10 USD for 1 oz, $28 USD for 4 oz

Petit Vour February 2019

Skin loves this delicious nutrient and mineral rich toner. It adjusts pH and refines the pores. It will nourish and hydrate the skin while removing any residual make-up or cleanser. Excellent to set makeup as well as a calming aftershave. Always carry this as a companion on long drives or airplane trips to give skin a refresher along your travels. Suitable for all skin types.

I love, love, love facial toner mists. Very excited to try it out!

EiR NYC Tough Love Cuticle Balm $14 USD for 0.5 oz

Petit Vour February 2019

We all need to feel the soothing warmth of love and some of our rough and scratchy patches need it even more. The Neem oil used in the Tough Love softening salve is known to have antifungal and antiseptic properties. Improves elasticity for rough skin, feet, elbows, and cuticles that need some extra love.

I really use cuticle balms – especially in the winter, my hands and cuticles get so dry!

Formulary 55 Sea Mineral Foot Soak $7 USD for 1.5 oz

Petit Vour February 2019

Perfect for tired feet, this fizzing foot soak is a wonderful way to end a long day. This peppermint and eucalyptus effervescent foot soak is made with pure essential oils and Dead Sea mineral salts.

This sounds interesting, I look forward to trying it out.

Petit Vour February 2019

The total value of this month’s Petit Vour box adds up to $ 50 USD which converts to $67.39 CAD.

What do you think of this month’s box? I think that is is pretty great this month, and I can’t wait see what is in the March box!

Monthly Empties – November 2018

Hello, hello!

Another month of products that I’ve managed to finish up. Let’s take a look and I’ll tell you if I plan on repurchasing (or not).

Haircare:

Empties November 2018

Attitude Super Leaves Shampoo in Color Protection (Avocado Oil & Pomegranate) – I finished up the conditioner awhile back. I really like the shampoos and conditioners from Attitude, I’ve tried a few of the formulations in the Super Leaves line, and in fact, I’m testing out another one right now, so I won’t be re-purchasing right away. (Reviews for the Color Protection and Nourishing & Strengthening)

Ouai Wave Spray – This wave spray worked so well for my hair – I love the beautiful beachy waves that it gives, but unless they come out with a milder scent, I probably won’t re-purchase. If you aren’t sensitive to scents, you will probably love this one. Review is here.

Skincare:

Empties November 2018

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask – this came in a Petit Vour box. I really liked this clay mask, I think that I managed to get six uses from the package. I have a few facial masks in my stash to use up so I don’t plan on purchasing at this time. Review is here.

The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin Serum – This was nearly finished when I knocked it over and the bottle shattered on my bathroom floor! Oops! I have so many serums to use up, that I am not buying any at this time until I finished up several more. Review is here.

Personelle Brand Facial Cotton Squares – I use these for removing mascara and swatches. I tend to buy whatever is on sale. These ones were not soft, and tended to leave cotton fibres in my lashes, so I’m going to try to remember not to buy these ones again.

Olverum Bath Oil – Another Petit Vour box gem – I absolutely LOVED this bath oil! I managed to get five or six baths from this bottle. This bath oil is at the top of my wishlist! I’m only buying necessary things for myself right now and this one is a luxury splurge. Review is here.

Poetic Blend The Cosmic Serum – I received this in a mega awesome giveaway package that I had won from Poetic Blend. This is a beautiful hydrating serum, it is on my wishlist to purchase after I use up a few more serums from my stash. Review is here.

Nova Scotia Fisherman Cuticle Rescue – This is a must have for nails  / cuticles! I’m currently using up a cuticle oil from my stash, so I don’t need to repurchase this yet, but again, it is one that I have on my wishlist. Review is here.

Makeup Decluttering:

Empties November 2018

I liked all three of these products, but it is time to let them go as I’ve either had them way too long, or they’ve dried out. The two highlighters Nyx Born to Glow and Soap & Glory Glow All Out were featured recently in my Highlighter Stash, but sadly they’ve started to go off or dry out. The ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip was in the shade Frick n Frack – which I LOVED – has also started to dry out, so it is high time to let it go!

Did you finish up a lot this month? I’m pretty happy with the progress that I making in working my way through my stash and using things up whenever possible, and decluttering when products have been kept too long.

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask from Formulary 55 that came in my October Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

Detoxify and soften naturally with this gentle pink clay facial mask. This blend will draw out toxins without over drying the skin. Suitable for all skin types.

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

This facial mask has minimal ingredients, making it a good option for sensitive and other skin types – unless you have an allergy or sensitivity to one of the ingredients.

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | French white and pink clay, rosehip powder, ground comfrey root, and organic rose geranium essential oil

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask

I am a huge fan of facial masks, I love that this one is in powder form as it means less packaging. Another benefit to a powder formulation is that it gives you the choice of what type of liquid to add to the powder to mix with your mask.

This mask performs similarly to most clay based masks, it feels tight as it dries – but my skin felt so clean, and not at all irritated or dried out after removing. All in all, I think that this is a great facial mask.

Do you like clay based facial masks?

Petit Vour Unboxing & First Impressions October 2018

Petit Vour October 2018

Hello, hello!

My October Petit Vour box arrived last week, but since I already had blog posts scheduled, it had to wait until today. If you follow me on InstaGram, you will have seen my unboxing. Here on the blog, you will get the unboxing AND my first impressions. Full reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to test things out. [all info in italics is taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour October 2018

Petit Vour is a cruelty-free and vegan monthly subscription box with four (occasionally five) products. Petit Vour October 2018

The subscription is $18 USD a month in the U.S., $23 USD for Canada, and $25 USD for the rest of the world. With the exchange rate (@ 1.326) my box cost me $30.50 CAD this month.

Petit Vour October 2018

Let’s take a closer look inside to see what I got this month:

Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes sample size $18 USD, full size 0.5 oz / 15 ml $55 USD

Petit Vour October 2018

Dr. Goldfaden’s advanced, ultra-light brightening eye cream reduces the appearance of under eye darkness, puffiness, and fine lines for a more luminous and youthful glow. Soy Peptide, Rice Bran Extract, Organic Red Tea, and Arnica work together to deliver de-puffing and brightening properties while ensuring the eye area has a luminous and youthful-looking appearance. Perfect for all skin types.

  • Visibly brightens eye area
  • Reduces the appearance of under eye puffiness and fatigue
  • May minimize the appearance of unwanted lines

My eyes prone to dark circles and puffiness due to seasonal allergies and occasional insomnia so anything that claims to help, I’m willing to try once I do a patch test.

When I went to do my patch test, I found that the pump was defective and no product came out no matter how much I pressed the pump. Thankfully the Petit Vour Customer Service is really awesome, and they’re sending me a replacement. The review might be a little delayed as it probably won’t arrive for at least a week or so.

Kani Botanicals Prismatic Highlighter Balm full size $28

Petit Vour October 2018

A lightweight, glowy highlighter balm that leaves a natural, radiant glow. Formulated with nourishing ingredients, it creates a subtle, radiant sheen.

I received the shade Rose Quartz (cool pink), it is also available in Moonstone (light gold). This looks really pretty, and not at all glittery. I can’t wait to try this out.

MAI Couture Bamboo Charcoal Blotting Paper full size $10 for 60 sheets

Petit Vour October 2018

Help absorb skin impurities and toxins with Mai Couture’s Bamboo Charcoal Blotting Papier. Effective at drawing out pollutants, bamboo charcoal absorbs bacteria, toxins, and micro-particles from the skin.

I haven’t owned blotting paper in a long time, but these ones sound great. I’ll probably keep them in my work bag for on the go touch-ups.

Formulary 55 Rosehip & Clay Facial Mask full size $8 for 0.75 oz package

Petit Vour October 2018

Detoxify and soften naturally with this gentle pink clay facial mask. This blend will draw out toxins without over drying the skin. Suitable for all skin types.

I love facial masks, and I plan on trying this out on the weekend if my patch test is ok. The joys of sensitive skin – but better safe than sorry!

Petit Vour October 2018

Overall I think that the October box was good – I’m most excited by the eye cream and the highlighting balm. Reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to test everything out!

Total value of this month’s box – $64 USD / $84.86 CAD!

Formulary 55 Sea Clay Body Mask Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Sea Clay Body Mask from Formulary 55 that came in my August Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken form the Petit Vour website]

Formulary 55 Sea Clay Body Mask

An all over detoxifying body treatment mask that is especially effective on the neck, back, and decolletage. Designed to tone, treat, and tighten; this purifying body mask removes impurities, pollutants and excess oils without stripping the skin.

Formulary 55 Sea Clay Body Mask

I have never tried a body mask mask before so I was not sure what to expect. The mask itself is a green powder.

Mix 1/2 of a packet with water.  Apply a thin layer over damp skin and allow to dry. Leave on for 10-20 minutes then rinse off with warm water. Mask can also be used as a facial or spot treatment for those with oily complexions.

I tested the Sea Clay Body Mask on my neck and chest, and left it on for 15 minutes. I applied the mask with my mask brush (far less messy than trying to apply with fingers).

Formulary 55 Sea Clay Body Mask

The mask tingled the entire time that it was on my skin but it was not a full-on skin melting feeling. The joys of sensitive skin…

I removed the mask using cool water instead of the suggested warm water. My neck and chest were both super red upon removal, and the redness gradually faded after several hours – it looked like a sunburn at first.

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Dead Sea Mineral Clay, Matcha Powder, Activated Charcoal, And A Proprietary Blend Of Essential Oils.

Looking at the ingredients, I am unable pinpoint what could have caused my skin to react – quite possibly the unspecified essential oils – since I’ve successfully used products with mineral clay, matcha and charcoal without any problems.

If you don’t have sensitive skin (or a sensitivity to any of the ingredients), this might be awesome for you. Once my skin calmed down and returned to its normal colour, it felt soft and smooth, but I don’t think that this is the one for me due to sensitivity issues because if I react to a product or ingredient, and if I use it again, the reaction is often worse the second time around.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: This came in my monthly Petit Vour subscription that I pay for.

Eye of Horus Brow Define (full size $25 USD) in the shade medium

Brow Define is your ultimate brow tool. This brow pencil is formulated using Coconut and Candelilla wax as a foundation. It contains castor oil for strengthening and growth and, like all Eye of Horus products, it is paraben-free with a slim, pointed tip. It contours and fills in color with controlled artistry for perfect arches. Add shape, color, and definition in one streamlined tool. The twist-up applicator assists with product control, and a spoolie brush combs through color. Waterproof and smudge-free.

I love eyebrow pencils and this one sounds great, I really hope that the shade medium works for me! I’ll test it out and have comparison swatches with all of the brow pencils in my stash.

Odacité Black Mint Cleanser (sample size $14 USD , full size $39 USD)

Formulary 55 Sea Clay Body Mask ($8 USD)

An all over detoxifying body treatment mask that is especially effective on the neck, back, and decolletage. Designed to tone, treat, and tighten; this purifying body mask removes impurities, pollutants and excess oils without stripping the skin.

I’ve never tried a body mask before, so this might be interesting. Again, I’ll be doing a patch test before trying it out all over!

Instantly repairs hair damage from the inside-out. Helps stimulate hair growth. Revitalizes & strengthens dry or damaged hair. Locks-in moisture to help eliminate split ends and frizzy hair.

I love hair masks, hopefully this one won’t smell too coconutty for me! If I does I might add some essential oil to camouflage the scent because I really want to try this one out! It looks like I’ll get a few uses from the foil pack (even with my giant hair).

Petit Vour Unboxing August 2018
