Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Delizioso Skincare

Today I have reviews of a few products from Ontario based Delizioso Skincare – handcrafted, natural, vegan and cruelty free skincare, cosmetics, body and haircare. They were kind enough to send me a few things to try out – the Cucumber & Aloe Sensitive Skin Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer, The Eclipse Tansy & Marula Balancing Facial Oil, Succulent Cell Hyaluronic Acid B5 Cream Mask, and a sample of their Watermelon Coffee + COQ10 Eye Gel [ info in italics taken from the Delizioso Skincare website]

Cucumber & Aloe Sensitive Skin Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer:

Delizioso Skincare Cucumber + Aloe Sensitive Skin Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer

A 100% natural, light facial moisturizer made with pure cucumber seed oil, aloe leaf juice and hyaluronic acid.  Highly concentrated long and short chain hyaluronic molecules provide intensive hydration and work against fine lines and wrinkles while cucumber and aloe work to calm the complexion. Because it can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, hyaluronic acid aids hydration and actually plumps up skin. Enriched with Rosehip oil, this gentle facial moisturizer is filled with highly potent antioxidants to fight free radical damage and make skin appear more smooth, calm, hydrated and plump.

This is a beautiful and lightweight moisturizer – it is super hydrating, and I love the mild cucumber scent. I especially like mixing it with The Eclipse Facial Oil. It plays nicely with foundation and concealer too!

The Eclipse Tansy & Marula Balancing Facial Oil:

Delizioso Skincare The Eclipse Tansy & Marula Balancing Facial Oil

This lightweight facial oil is a holy grail product that helps to keep skin looking balanced, fresh, clear and youthful. Blue Tansy Essential Oil is known for its amazing properties to calm and balance irritated and troubled skin.  Collageneer® is an anti-aging and firming ingredient that stimulates the synthesis of a high-quality collagen to increase elasticity and firmness in the skin, helping to remodel the facial contour.  With powers to help with congested pores and clarity, this luxurious oil is based on skin balancing squalane and nourishing marula to harness nature’s amazing skin benefits in every drop.

This facial oil is so great – I can see this working for all skin types as it is light and non-greasy.

Succulent Cell Supple Hydration Hyaluronic B5 Cream Mask:

Delizioso Skincare Succulent Cell Supple Hydration Hyaluronic B5 Cream Mask

This all natural mask is packed full of highly concentrated long and short chain hyaluronic molecules to provide intensive hydration and, alongside other botanical ingredients, works against fine lines and wrinkles caused by dry skin. Unlike conventional masks, the vitamin b5 and allantoin rich mask is based on a cream formula, for ultimate moisture. A must have for more supple looking skin.

So beautiful for when my skin needs a hydration boost – ultimate moisture is exactly what this mask gives my skin!

Watermelon Anti-Aging CoQ10 + Coffee Brightening Eye Gel:

Delizioso Skincare Watermelon Coffee + CoQ10 Eye Gel

This potent, fast absorbing all natural eye gel is formulated with antioxidants that leave skin looking more dewy, supple and bright after application, making fine lines, wrinkles, under eye darkness and puffiness less noticeable. […] Watermelon extract, rich in lycopene and vitamins, has been studied to yield remarkable antioxidant capacity while coffee berry oil is known to increase circulation. Coenzyme Q10 is  used on skin due to its studied ability to decrease the appearance of wrinkles with prolonged use.

Holy grail if you are prone to dark circles or allergy related puffiness like me. It works SO WELL! And you just need a teeny tiny drop!

Have you tried anything from Delizioso Skincare? They have a lot that I want to try – until I use up a few things from my stash, I’ll be making myself a wishlist!

EVOLVh SmartCurl Leave-In Conditioner Review

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a little review of the EVOLVh SmartCurl Leave-In Conditioner. EVOLVh is one of my favourite hair care brands, and I’ve tried a lot of their products – both gifted and self-purchased – so when I was asked if I wanted to the one of their Leave-In Conditioners, of course I said yes! I chose the SmartCurl Leave-In Conditioner. [info in italics taken from the EVOLVh website]

EVOLVh SmartCurl Leave In Conditioner

This weightless wonder helps keep dry & frizzy curls on point. Powered by fatty acids-rich shea butter and coconut oil, this light-yet-hydrating formula strengthens strands, fends off flyaways and minimizes breakage while protecting hair from heat and UV damage. Finally, a leave-in conditioner for all curls types and low & high porosity hair,  that’s effective as it is easy.

EVOLVh SmartCurl Leave In Conditioner

This is one of those products that pretty much does it all – it hydrates, it detangles, it combats frizz, and it is a heat and UV protectant. And it does it all without making my hair feel heavy or gross.

EVOLVh SmartCurl Leave In Conditioner

I’ve previously tried and reviewed the SmartStart Leave-In Conditioner and the InstaVolume Elixir – both of which are great, it just depends on what your hair needs.

Have you tried this one?

Vo Beauty Reviews

Vo Beauty - Rise & Shine, Skin Water, Beauty Sleep

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Vo Beauty - Rise & Shine, Skin Water, Beauty Sleep

Today I’m reviewing a lovely box of skincare from Vo Beauty – they’re a sustainable cruelty free luxury skincare line based in Toronto. Diana Vo, the founder of the brand, is a holistic esthetician and facialist. I received the Rise & Shine Gel Cleanser, the Skin Water 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum and the Beauty Sleep Mask. [info in italics taken from the Vo Beauty website]

Here’s the Rise & Shine Gel Cleanser:

Vo Beauty - Rise & Shine Low pH Gel Cleanser

Our gel cleanser is made to balance your skin pH without stripping of its natural oils. Formulated with sulfate-free surfactants from coconuts and apples so it’s more gentle on the skin

– Aloe vera is soothing and replenishes moisture

Vitamin B3 is anti-inflammatory and prevents irritation

I love a good gel cleanser, especially in the warmer months. This one is gentle, and my skin feels clean but soft after using. This cleanser works for all skin types – dry, sensitive, oily, acne prone, and mature skin. You can also use it when you do a double cleanse routine.

Skin Water 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum:

Vo Beauty - Skin Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum

Instantly plump and hydrate your skin with this hyaluronic acid serum that makes your skin feel like it just drank water. It replenishes the hyaluronic acid that you produce less of as you age.

Hyaluronic acid retains moisture better than any other ingredient and absorbs faster
Aloe vera retains and replenishes moisture
Allantoin calms, soothes, and prevents dryness and irritation

This is a beautiful serum, it soak into my skin so quickly and my skin feels less dry since I’ve been using it. It plays nicely with every other serum and facial cream that I’ve tried it with so far! Makes my skin feel so fresh and hydrated.

Beauty Sleep:

Vo Beauty - Beauty Sleep Leave On Mask

Wake up to skin that’s less tight, less red, and quenched of thirst with this leave-on mask that hydrates, softens, and plumps. Its hydrating properties prevent wrinkles and its cool, soothing effect makes it great for irritations and after-sun care.

Aloe vera & rose hydrate your skin
Royal jelly, vitamin e, and hibiscus (botox plant) plump and feed your skin with antioxidants
Glycerin humectant locks in moisture

Vo Beauty - Beauty Sleep Leave On Mask

This stuff is amazing! Not just as a sleeping mask, it also works great as a hydrating primer before makeup. Super gentle, hydrating and non-greasy. My skin loves this. It really does plump the skin! Such a beautiful and essential skincare product! The jelly texture just sinks into my skin and makes it look and feel radiant and smooth.

I have a few of their products on my wishlist for when I finish up some things in my current skincare stash.

Have you tried anything from Vo Beauty?

boscia Gel Eye Mask & C Serum Review

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

boscia / BlendPR "Green Box"

Today I’m reviewing the Triple Hyaluronic and Honeydew Moisture-Boost Gel Eye Masks and the Vitamin C with Caviar Lime Booster Serum from boscia and BlendPR. These came in a green themed PR box for Saint-Patrick’s Day / Spring along with the Purifying Gel Cleanser [info in italics taken from the boscia website].

Let’s look at the Gel Eye Masks first:

boscia Triple Hyaluronic Acid and Honeydew boscia Triple Hyaluronic Acid and Honeydew Moisture Boost Gel Eye Masks

Replenish and restore much-needed moisture to dehydrated, overworked under-eyes with a pack of cool-on-contact hydrogel eye masks that instantly invigorate, hydrate and refresh.

These gel eye masks are so soothing and hydrating. Key ingredients are the triple hyaluronic acids (hydration, plumping and firming), honeydew melon (radiance, hydration), Niacinimide (vitamin B3 – brightening, anti-inflammatory).

I especially like to use these gel masks when my under-eyes are a little puffy due to my year-round allergies. They really help to de-puff and hydrate.

Now onto the Booster Serum:

boscia Vitamin C w Caviar Lime Booster Serum

Instantly brighten, reduce the look of hyperpigmentation and even skin tone with a Vitamin C serum that provides a beaming, smooth complexion. A powerful 10% Vitamin C Complex and AHA-rich Caviar Limes helps exfoliate and smooth uneven-textured skin for an everyday, healthy-looking glow-up.

This is a great Vitamin C Serum – it doesn’t have that metallic “hot dog water” scent that some C based serums have. The key ingredients are: 10% Vitamin C Complex (brightening, hyperpigmentation), Caviar Lime (vitamin C – brightening, AHA – exfoliating), Astaxanthin (antioxidant), Jojoba (prevent free-radical damage), and Willowherb (anti-inflammatory).

My skin thrives when I use any skincare with Vitamin C. This serum is light, and quick to absorb, and plays nicely with every single moisturizer that I’ve tried it with!

Have you tried either the Gel Eye Masks, or the Booster Serum?

Silk’n Infinity Hair Removal Device Progress After 4 Treatments

Hello, hello!

Today I have my first progress report for the Silk’n Infinity Hair Removal Device. I have completed four sessions so far. My initial unboxing and first impressions are here if you’d like to read about that (and the technology itself). [info in italics taken from the Silk’n website]

Silkn 12

Just to re-cap – I decided to start testing on my lower leg, bikini line and underarms – all of which I have previously had laser hair removal treatments and needed touch ups. I had nine treatments over the course of about a year and a half – and that was about 8.5 or 9 years ago. I would say that my lower legs are roughly 70 to 75% hair free, underarms and bikini line are roughly 65 to 70% hair free. So I’m not starting at the very beginning.

Here’s what the Silk’n website says about the hair removal plan:

A typical full hair growth cycle may take 18 to 24 months. During this time, multiple hair removal sessions will be required in order to achieve long-lasting hair removal. The efficiency of hair removal varies from person to person according to body area, hair color and how the device is used. Here’s what a typical hair removal plan should look like during a full hair growth cycle:

Treatments 1 to 4: Two weeks apart. Treatments 5 to 7: Four weeks apart. Treatments 8+: Treat as needed, until desired hair removal results are achieved.

I have completed my first four treatments and have brief notes on the settings, and how I felt for each session. The machine makes a little zapping sound when it flashes, and you can hear the cooling fan inside the machine. Personally, I don’t think that it hurts at all, it just feels like a little heat pulse to me. I will say that areas where the skin is thinner (ie. underarms, back of the knee, and leg crease / bikini line) feel odd – not painful, just slightly uncomfortable in a weird sort of way. On my legs, it is such a breeze! There are two ways to use the Infinity Hair Removal Device with the pulse and glide methods:

To pulse, press the treatment surface against your skin. Work in rows either across or down the treatment area. The treatment surface creates temporary pressure marks on the treated area so you can see areas you have treated. After each pulse, move the treatment surface to the next spot. Keep doing this pulsing action for the area you are treating. Avoid gaps or overlaps as you use the device.

Gliding is the best technique for treating larger parts of the body. This technique is perfect for leg hair removal, under arm hair removal and treating large sections of the body. To glide, press the treatment surface firmly against your skin and slowly glide over your skin (either across or down as shown in the image). Make sure that the treatment surface is always touching your skin.

Treatment #1 – March 10, I started by doing a patch test at level one to see how it felt, and then proceeded to do my underarms and bikini line at level 2, and my lower legs  at level 3. I felt that this first session was more to test how my skin reacted to the machine, and to get comfortable using the device. It was a little awkward at first, and slow as I was getting used to the process and handling of the device, using the pulse method.

Treatment #2 – March 22, underarms and bikini line done at level 3, lower legs at level 4. I felt like I was starting to get more comfortable with using the device, and was a little bit faster this time, still using the pulse method.

Treatment #3 – April 3, underarms and bikini line done at level 3, lower legs at level 4. Again, this time was faster, getting more comfortable using the device. Started using the gliding method, which was so much faster, and I felt that I has less chance of missing a spot.

Treatment #4 – April 19, underarms, bikini and legs done at level 4. I felt much more comfortable and less awkward using the device with the gliding method.

Silk'n Infinity Hair Removal Device

After four sessions, I do see a reduction in the amount of hair already! Both underarms and lower legs have the most noticeable reduction – I would estimate that I now have approximately 8% to 10% hair remaining for both underarms and legs, and about 12% to 15% remaining for the bikini line.

I will post my next update after treatment #6.
