Attitude Super Leaves Shampoo Clarifying Review

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a review of the Attitude Super Leaves Shampoo Clarifying Lemon Leaves and White Tea [info in italics taken from the Attitude website]

Did you know white tea leaf extract is known to delay the aging process thanks to its high antioxidant concentration? It also helps to protect your hair from daily oxidation. Harness the power of antioxidant-rich white tea leaf extract with ATTITUDE’s Super leaves™ Clarifying Shampoo. Plus, thanks to its purifying lemon leaf extract, you can give your hair a deep clean to restore its shine, even more if you are using styling products. Also, you will love its aroma that reminds us of Earl Grey tea and fresh cucumber. EWG Verified™, hypoallergenic and dermatologically-tested, our Clarifying Shampoo includes moringa seed extract, known for its antipollution properties.

This is a great sulfate free clarifying shampoo – it lathers super well, and leaves my hair feeling super clean and shiny. I don’t find that it dries my hair out like some clarifying shampoos. The scent is very mild – I don’t smell any cucumber though, but it does smell like a lemony tea to my nose.

Also – I love that this brand is made in Canada!

Have you tried this clarifying shampoo? Do you use a clarifying shampoo?

Cumulative Empties Aug to Dec 2020 – Hair, Body and Makeup

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Earlier this week I shared my cumulative skincare empties, and today I have my haircare, body care an makeup empties (not decluttered makeup, that was a separate post). I didn’t finish up nearly as much in these categories as I did with my skincare stash, but I still feel like I’m making progress in using up products. I will link to my original reviews and let you know if it is something I would purchase / re-purchase or not (by purchase I mean eventually, as my goal is to only buy products when necessary).

Hair and Body Care:

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Shampoo – This was a part of a larger PR package from the brand. The matching conditioner has a few uses left in it, so I’m sure it will be in my next round of empties. I really love the Perfect Repair Shampoo – it makes my hair so soft and healthy feeling. I would purchase a full size of this if I can get it here, or order online from a Canadian website.

MoMi Beauty Styling Jelly – This was from my Petit Vour subscription. I liked this a lot, it worked well for my wavy, frizz prone hair. I would love to get a full size of this eventually – once I use up my current stash of styling products.

Sothys Pro-Youth Body Serum – This was a PR product. This is more like a rich body butter than a serum. Amazing for dry skin, and left my skin silky smooth. It is on the pricy side though, and I have a few body lotions / body butters to use up in my stash.

Makeup Empties:

Essence Cosmetics Lips Go Wow Plumping Lip Gloss – I LOVE this lip plumping gloss. It doesn’t sting or burn like a lot of lip plumpers. I plan on getting another one if they still have them at Shoppers / Pharmaprix.

Smashbox SuperFan Mascara – This was a free deluxe sample with purchase. Its a nice mascara, but didn’t hold a curl well for me, so I would not purchase a full size. I think that it is a great mascara if you don’t have stick straight lashes like I do!

So there you have it, the final empties for 2020. I’ve already finished up a few things this month, so I might return to a monthly empties format as long as I finish up a minimum of five products each month.

I’ll be back next week with some Bath and Body product reviews.

Kristin Ess Hair Weightless Shine Air Dry Creme Review

Hello hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I’m reviewing the Kristin Ess Hair Weightless Shine Air Dry Creme. I bought it a few weeks ago and have been using it since [info in italics taken from well.ca website].

I’ve always dreamed of that wash-and-go life… now it’s just reality. If you only have time for one product, let this be the one. It smooths, it separates, it adds shine, it gives texture, what more could you want!? It can be used on any hair texture; straight, curly, thick, fine or frizzy, to achieve an effortless, polished look.
Contains Zip-Up Technology:
Kristin Ess’ proprietary strengthening complex designed to help “zip-up” split ends while targeting weak areas of the hair, smoothing the appearance of damaged cuticles and helping to protect hair from environmental stressors and color fade.

Benefits:

  • for all hair types
  • frizz calming
  • shine restoring
  • softening + smoothing
  • time saving
  • cruelty free

I try not to heat style my hair very often, so anything that works well with air drying is great for me. I love that this styling creme work for all hair types and textures. It works really well on my wavy hair, and helps keep it under control without making it feel crunchy, stiff or dirty. It has a scent, but I can’t really identify what it smells like, but it isn’t overpowering and it doesn’t linger.

Have you tried this one?

Noughty Haircare To The Rescue Intense Moisture Treatment Review

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Atttitude!

Today I have a review of the Noughty Haircare To The Rescue Intense Moisture Treatment – I purchased it for myself a few weeks ago. [info in italics taken from the Shoppers Drug Mart website]

Noughty To The Rescue 1

This intensive treatment rescues thirsty hair for a storybook smooth ending. A deeply hydrating mask to rejuvenate and restore the thirstiest, most over-processed hair, packed with sweet almond and black oat extracts to hydrate, restructure and transform hair in distress. Black oat extract is packed with natural water reservoirs like amino acids and polysaccharides. It’s been shown to improve the structure of the hair surface by up to 43% making it easier to comb and boosting gloss. Lecithin enhances the hair’s natural barrier, smoothing each shaft to renew its surface. Meadowfoam oil, rich in long chain fatty acids, helps to trap moisture in the hair shaft, rejuvenating hair for a healthy-looking mane. Argan oil, rich in frizz-taming essential fatty acids, helps to increase hair’s elasticity. Luxurious Morrocan argan and almond scent.

Noughty To The Rescue 5

My hair is definitely frizz prone and somewhat dry at the ends, but it is not damaged as I haven’t been colouring my hair, nor have I been heat styling. I chose this hair mask as it sounded like a great choice to tame frizz and hydrate my wavy hair. My hair is so soft after I use this mask and it doesn’t feel weighed down or waxy.

Noughty To The Rescue 2

The texture of this hair mask is very much like a softly set custard, and the scent is mildly nutty from the argan oil and almond. I can smell something else, but I haven’t quite been able to identify what it smells like to me.

Noughty To The Rescue 3

This is the first product that I’ve tried from Noughty Haircare. But I don’t think that it will be the last one!

Kristin Ess Instant Exfoliating Scalp Scrub Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Kristin Ess Instant Exfoliating Scalp Scrub – it was one of the things that I picked up last month from well.ca. [info in italics taken from the Kristin Ess website]

Kristin Ess Instant Exfoliating Scalp Scrub

Why is it that we go the extra mile for our skin but not our scalp? This non-drying scrub removes flakes, product build-up, excess sebum, and hard water deposits from the scalp, giving you a cleaner canvas through gentle exfoliation. I formulated this with a sugar complex to keep natural moisture intact.

Kristin Ess Instant Exfoliating Scalp Scrub 2

This is an interesting product – it is a little hard to apply, but once I figured it out, it went on a lot easier. You are supposed to apply it on wet hair, using the nozzle tip – but I found it easier to apply to my scalp with my fingers (but whatever works for you). Next you give yourself a scalp massage, rinse it out and then shampoo and condition as usual. According to the instructions, you can use it once a week – but I’ve been using it every second week.

Kristin Ess Instant Exfoliating Scalp Scrub 5

It makes my scalp slightly tingle when applied – the good tingle, not the allergic reaction tingle. And wow, it soothes and moisturizes the scalp, leaving it feeling super clean.

Have you tried this scalp scrub? Or any other scalp scrub?

MoMi Beauty Styling Jelly Review

Hello, hello!

MoMi Beauty Styling Jelly

Today I’m reviewing the Styling Jelly from MoMi Beauty that came in my March Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

This innovative jelly stays flexible and maintains movement, allowing easy styling and a no-frizz finish. Every hair type can achieve different textures using the jelly, which blends organic hydrating olive oil and clarifying apple cider vinegar with floral and gem-essences for inner and outer balance.

  • Pump a small amount into palms
  • Evenly apply to damp or air-dried hair
  • Style as desired
  • To add volume and body to fine hair, apply to lengths from root to ends
  • For medium hold: scrunch into wet hair and diffuse with a blow dryer
  • For some extra hold to style: pump a small amount into palms and style as needed
  • To tame fly-aways: pump a small amount into palms and very lightly apply to smooth strands

MoMi Beauty Styling Jelly

I’ve been using this to add volume and tame frizz in my wavy hair. It feels hydrating yet lightweight. Mega waves! It kind of feels like a cross between a hair gel and a facial serum texture-wise. And the scent is very minimal (almost non-existent) to my nose! I really like it a lot!

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Deionized Water, Organic Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Calendula Extract, Pro-Vitamin B5, Organic Guar Gum (Natural Plant Based), Organic Sweet Orange Oil, Organic Lemongrass Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (Raw unfiltered), Organic Green Tea, Organic Sage Herb, Organic Bilberry Leaf, Xanthan Gum (Natural Gum), Lotus Wei blend of organic essential oils of Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender), Anthemis nobilis (Roman chamomile), Rosa damascena (Rose absolute), Citrus aurantium (Neroli absolute), Nelumbo Nucifera (Lotus) flower essence, gem essence of Rose Quartz, Leucidal (Radish root ferment).

Cake Beauty The Posh Wash and The Soft Serve

This is a really nice shampoo, it lathers really well, and makes my hair feel super clean without drying it out. My hair looks great on the second day, and fairly good on the third day!

The Soft Serve Cream Rinse Conditioner:

Maui Moisture Colour Protection + Sea Minerals Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of a shampoo and conditioner set from Maui Moisture that has been in my stash for a little while –  Colour Protection + Sea Minerals. I’ve been using it for around 6 weeks now, so I think it’s finally time for a review! [info in italics taken from the Maui Moisture website]

MauiMoisture SeaMinerals

Inspired by the ocean, dive deep into hydration with our Maui Moisture Colour Protection + Sea Minerals Shampoo [and Conditioner]. Infused with sea minerals, algae, and sea kelp, this blend, free from silicones, parabens, SLS, gluten, and vegan friendly, is sure to help hair colour stay as vibrant as your inner mermaid with a healthy-looking glow and moisturized strands.

MauiMoisture SeaMinerals

This shampoo and conditioner duo is great for my wavy, colour-treated hair. My colour seems to fade less quickly with using them – always a good thing. The shampoo cleans without stripping, and lathers really well for a sulfate-free formula. The conditioner does a great job to hydrate my hair without making it feel waxy or heavy. The scent is really nice, I can’t quite figure out what it smells like, but I like it – it is fresh smelling (and thankfully not over-scented).

Monthly Empties Part 1- March 2019

Hello, hello!

I’ve really been trying to use things up in my stash and this month I made really good progress at finishing up quite a few products – some full sized and some sample sized. I’ll link to any reviews, and let you know if I have plan to repurchase, or not. I decided to split my empties into two parts. Part one is my bath and haircare empties.

Let’s take a look:

March 2019 Empties 1

Buck Naked Soap Company Himalayan Salt Soak – I loved this one so much, and will be buying it again the next time I’m doing a well.ca haul. This was particularly great for a post yoga soak! Original review is here.

Yarok Feed Your Ends Leave In Conditioner – This came in a Petit Vour box, and I really liked it a lot, it made my hair so soft and shiny! I have no plans to purchase right now as I’m still working my way through my haircare stash, but I think it is wishlist  worthy. Original review is here.

March 2019 Empties 2

Attitude Super Leaves Volume & Shine Conditioner – I really like this conditioner, the shampoo has a couple of uses left in it, but will probably end up in my April empties. I won’t be repurchasing right away as I just started using the ones from Oneka not too long ago, but I probably would repurchase in the future. Original review is here.

Kariderm Restorative Hair Mask – (This was a PR sample for review) I loved this mask, it worked so well for my hair and scalp. And I just found a place in my neighbourhood that stocks it, so I plan to buy myself this hair mask soon. Original review is here.

March 2019 Empties (Part 1)

I’ll have my March Empties Part Two (Skincare and Makeup) next week.

Did you finish up very much this month?
