Noughty Haircare To The Rescue Intense Moisture Treatment Review

Hello, hello! Welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Atttitude!

Today I have a review of the Noughty Haircare To The Rescue Intense Moisture Treatment – I purchased it for myself a few weeks ago. [info in italics taken from the Shoppers Drug Mart website]

Noughty To The Rescue 1

This intensive treatment rescues thirsty hair for a storybook smooth ending. A deeply hydrating mask to rejuvenate and restore the thirstiest, most over-processed hair, packed with sweet almond and black oat extracts to hydrate, restructure and transform hair in distress. Black oat extract is packed with natural water reservoirs like amino acids and polysaccharides. It’s been shown to improve the structure of the hair surface by up to 43% making it easier to comb and boosting gloss. Lecithin enhances the hair’s natural barrier, smoothing each shaft to renew its surface. Meadowfoam oil, rich in long chain fatty acids, helps to trap moisture in the hair shaft, rejuvenating hair for a healthy-looking mane. Argan oil, rich in frizz-taming essential fatty acids, helps to increase hair’s elasticity. Luxurious Morrocan argan and almond scent.

Noughty To The Rescue 5

My hair is definitely frizz prone and somewhat dry at the ends, but it is not damaged as I haven’t been colouring my hair, nor have I been heat styling. I chose this hair mask as it sounded like a great choice to tame frizz and hydrate my wavy hair. My hair is so soft after I use this mask and it doesn’t feel weighed down or waxy.

Noughty To The Rescue 2

The texture of this hair mask is very much like a softly set custard, and the scent is mildly nutty from the argan oil and almond. I can smell something else, but I haven’t quite been able to identify what it smells like to me.

Noughty To The Rescue 3

This is the first product that I’ve tried from Noughty Haircare. But I don’t think that it will be the last one!

Thanks for reading have a beautiful day!

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen + Restore Treatment Masque Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of one of my favourite hair products – a hair mask! Funny story, I bought this awhile back, and it got stuck / lost behind the bamboo shelves in my bathroom and I forgot that I had it. I was going through my stash about three weeks ago and I found it, unopened, haha!

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen + Restore Treatment Masque

This is the first time that I am trying anything from Shea Moisture – I’ve only recently noticed their line being carried at Pharmaprix (Shoppers Drug Mart). I chose the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen + Restore Treatment Masque. [info in italics taken from the Shea Moisture website]

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen + Restore Treatment Masque

This deep conditioning masque restores strength and resilience to damaged, brittle or chemically processed hair. Perfect for those who regularly color, straighten, perm or heat style their hair, as well as kinky, curly or wavy natural styles. Formulated with nutrient-rich Jamaican Black Castor Oil and certified organic Shea Butter to replenish moisture and soften while strengthening hair. Helps promote natural growth by supporting hair’s elasticity, reducing the appearance of breakage and shedding. Peppermint stimulates the scalp for an invigorating experience. Leaves hair soft, manageable and shiny.

Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen + Restore Treatment Masque

My hair is fairly thick, wavy and prone to frizz. It isn’t damaged or brittle. I colour my hair, and I rarely heat style.

I really like this hair mask, it works well to hydrate my hair and helps to keep my waves tamed and less prone to frizzing out. My hair is super soft after using.

This hair mask does contain fragrance / essential oils – I wouldn’t say that it is strongly scented, so if you are fragrance sensitive, smell it before buying since the essential oils used in the scent are not listed.

St. Tropica Organic Coconut Hot Oil Hair Mask Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Organic Coconut Hot Oil Hair Mask  from St. Tropica that came in my August Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from Petit Vour]

St. Tropica Hot Oil Hair Mask

WHAT IT IS: A hot oil hair mask for stronger, thicker, lustrous hair!

WHAT IT DOES: Instantly repairs hair damage from the inside-out. Helps stimulate hair growth. Revitalizes & strengthens dry or damaged hair. Locks-in moisture to help eliminate split ends and frizzy hair.

I know that I just reviewed another hair mask earlier this week, but what can I say, I really do love hair masks! And my thick, wavy, frizz-prone hair needs help to keep it under control!

St. Tropica Hot Oil Hair Mask

This hair mask is to be heated before applying – heating in a microwave is recommended. Since I haven’t owned a microwave in many, many years, I just put the package in a bowl of hot water before applying to the mid-length and ends of my hair. The Organic Coconut Hot Oil Mask is a little messy to apply, as once the treatment is heated, it becomes super liquidy.

It does smell like coconut oil, but the other ingredients keep it from being overpowering scent-wise. [FYI – if you haven’t been reading my blog very long – I really do not like the scent of coconut. ]

Once applied, I left it on my hair for roughly 30 minutes before washing it out. The packaging recommends that you shampoo your hair TWICE with a clarifying shampoo, sadly I did not have any clarifying shampoo left in my stash, so I just washed my hair twice with a regular shampoo and rinsed it for a very long time. And then I rinsed it some more because I could feel some residue in my hair.

Once I finally got the Hot Oil Hair Mask fully rinsed out, I combed out my hair and let it air dry without any product. My hair was less frizzy, so incredibly soft, and super shiny! I do like how my hair reacted to this mask, but I will hold off on using it again until I pick up some clarifying shampoo – it really is necessary!

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Biotin, Organic Horsetail, Organic Amla, Organic Hibiscus, Organic Green Tea, Organic Coconut Butter, Organic Coconut Fruit Extract

Kariderm Restorative Hair Mask Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Restorative Hair Mask from Kariderm that was recently sent to me from PozPub and Kariderm (Thank you!). Kariderm is a Canadian company (Quebec based) – here’s a little info on them [taken from the Kariderm website]:

Kariderm Restorative Hair Mask

Founded in 1998, Flash Beauté Inc. conceives, manufactures and distributes the KARIDERM products, maintaining its leader position in its domain: natural personal care products made with shea butter.

In order to reach this target, we have established a tight partnership with a women cooperative of shea butter producers in Burkina Faso, the Songtaaba Association or ASY.

In this context, our personal commitment during several trips on the field enabled us to define several cooperation and assistance projects targeting not only the quality and market image of shea butter, but mostly the working conditions of women, their incomes and self-development perspectives.

We are leaders in the field because we commit to offering effective products made with active natural ingredients of the highest quality in the goal of obtaining products that offer adaptive results for our clients, always minimising risks of skin reactions or allergies.

Our production line uses a system that is designed to generate the least possible waste. All our raw materials are biodegradable and our plastic, metallic or cellulosic (paper and carton) waste is recycled.

Wonderful company mission and values!

Kariderm Restorative Hair Mask

Now onto the review. The Kariderm high performance hair line includes Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Mask and Hair Stimulator.

Reminder  – my hair is past my shoulders in length, thick, wavy and extremely frizz prone.

Kariderm Restorative Hair Mask

The Restorative Hair Mask is an intensive treatment for damaged hair with organic shea butter and other ingredients such as Argan, Baobab, and Black Cumin Oil.

  • Deeply nourishes and conditions hair
  • Helps restore hair fibre
  • Hydrates and soothes dry or itchy scalp
  • Leaves hair silky smooth

The Kariderm Restorative Hair Mask is for both the scalp and hair. Normally I only use a hair mask on the mid-length and ends of my hair, but decided to try this one all over.

Kariderm Restorative Hair Mask

After applying it to freshly washed, damp hair, I left it on for roughly 30 minutes instead of the recommended 10 to 15 before rinsing it out. It has a faint tingle on the scalp (the pleasant kind). The scent is mild and herbal – I really like it!

After rinsing it out really well, I decided to let my hair air dry without adding any styling product to see how my hair would be in its natural state.

My hair was SUPER MEGA SOFT! And dried in the most beautiful waves with only minimal frizz near the top of my head! My hair has been so much easier to manage for days after using this hair mask!

DevaCurl Melt into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask Review

Hello, hello!

I cashed in some of my Beauty Insider points with my last Sephora order and got a deluxe sample size tube of the Deva Curl Melt into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask. Just a reminder, my hair is fairly thick, wavy, colour-treated, fizz-prone and often dry at the ends as I only get a trim every couple of months – my haircut was in December. [info in italics taken from Sephora website]

Deva Curl Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask

What it is: A nourishing treatment mask that transforms dehydrated curls with matcha butter for intense moisture, softness, and shine.
Key benefits:
– Deeply conditions and nourishes
– Boosts shine
– Makes waves and curls silky-soft
If you want to know more… If your natural hair texture is prone to extreme dryness or your curls are parched from moisture-zapping weather, this luxuriously creamy mask is just what you need. This nourishing treatment features a buttery texture won’t weigh hair down, but it melts onto every strand—infusing hair with moisturizing matcha green tea butter, vitamin-packed sweet almond oil, and protective beet root extract. The rich formula leaves all curl types shiny, silky-soft, and completely transformed.

Deva Curl Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask

I applied the Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask after washing and towelling off excess water and left it in my hair for roughly 20 minutes before rinsing it out.

The Result – Holy silky hair Batman, my hair had ZERO TANGLES to comb out!  I decided let it air dry to see how my hair would turn out. My hair was beautifully soft, shiny and wavy. It didn’t feel weighed down or heavy at all.

I think I might need to get a full size of this one the next time I’m buying myself a special treat – even though it is on the pricy side at $49 CAD for 8 oz, / $87 for 17.7 oz!

In case you are curious, the background is one of the Betsey Johnson bags from my collection. I’ve been using it a lot lately!

Hask Charcoal with Citrus Oil Purifying Deep Conditioner Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Charcoal with Citrus Oil Purifying Deep Conditioner from Hask.

Here’s what it says on the website:

This deep conditioner is a super-moisturizing, clarifying treatment that will nourish and soften all hair types, (including color treated hair). Charcoal, derived from coconut shells, combined with citrus oil, absorbs impurities and helps restore hair to its natural radiance. We promise, the charcoal washes out!

Hask Charcoal with Citrus Purifying Deep Conditioner

I did not know what to expect with a charcoal and citrus blend – something like burnt lemons I guess. But this deep conditioner smells really AMAZING.

This one doesn’t look the most appealing as it is a pale gray with black specks.

Hask Charcoal with Citrus Purifying Deep Conditioner

I applied the conditioner and left it on for 20 minutes before rinsing it out. I applied my Briogeo Curl Charisma and styled my hair as usual, letting my hair air dry.

The result?

My hair felt soft and did not feel weighed down or waxy. I like this one, but I think that I prefer the Argan Oil one the best for deep conditioning (reviewed here), even though the Charcoal one has the best scent!

Hask Argan Oil Repairing Deep Conditioner Review

Hello, hello!

I’m back with another review of the Hask Deep Conditioners, this time with the Argan Oil Intense Repairing Deep Conditioner pack. I’ve already reviewed the Keratin Protein (smoothing) one.

Hask Argan Oil Intense Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment

Here’s what it says on the Hask website:

Argan Oil from Morocco Repairing Deep Conditioner. HASK Argan Oil Intense Deep Conditioning Treatment, is a super strengthening, hydrating treatment that will restore and smooth dry, damaged, chemically treated or over processed hair. Argan oil, unique to Morocco, is known for its high absorbing, penetrating and split end qualities while leaving even the most damaged hair soft and nourished for added moisture. Treat your hair with this nourishing deep conditioning treatment, formulated to bring life back into your luscious looking locks!

My hair is getting pretty long, it is roughly about halfway down my back, thick, and wavy. It tends to get drier in the winter, so a deep conditioning treatment is necessary to help keep my hair healthy between my occasional trims (around every three to four months).

Despite having long and thick hair, I am able to get two or three uses from these conditioning packs. This one made my hair like silk after rinsing it out. It says on the package to leave on for 10 minutes, but I got distracted and left it on for 30 minutes before rinsing.

I really like the Argan Oil line, I just finished up the Argan Oil Shampoo on the weekend, and the matching conditioner has about one more use left in it, so they will be in my January empties post.

Hask Deep Conditioning Packs

I would definitely purchase this Deep Conditioning pack again. I still have to test and review the Charcoal and Citrus Oil Purifying Deep Conditioner pack before I decide which one is my fave of the bunch.

Have you tried this one? Do you have a favourite deep conditioner?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
