Empties January 2021

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have my empties for the month of January. I will link to the original reviews, and let you know whether or not the product is something that I would purchase / or re-purchase.

Skincare:

Indeed Labs Retinol Reface – I really liked this retinol serum, and would buy it again eventually. There are a few retinol serums on my list of products to try.

Be On Me Face Serum – This was a PR / sponsored review product, but I really liked it a lot. I used it every morning before my moisturizer for an added hydration boost. I would purchase this eventually – I have a list of serums that I want to try, so it might take awhile.

Eco by Sonia Driver Super Citrus Cleanser – This was one of the cleansers from my Cert Clean / Clean Beauty Awards judging package. I loved this one, and I would purchase it eventually.

Volition Beauty Strawberry-C Serum – This was gifted to me by a friend. Such a beautiful vitamin C serum! I am using another C based serum from my stash, but I would purchase this one eventually.

Grace & Stella Hello Hydration – This is a great, lightweight serum from my CAUSEBOX subscription. I would purchase this one for summer hydration boosting.

Makeup:

Covergirl Lash Blast Active Mascara – I really liked this mascara, the longer I used it, the more I liked it. I’m currently testing out two new mascaras, so no need to re-purchase at the moment.

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector – I’ve been buying this under eye brightening concealer since 2016, so unless I find something that works better, I’ll purchase this again.

Covergirl Exhibitionist Uncensored Waterproof Mascara – Another great mascara from Covergirl. I’m actually testing another waterproof mascara from Covergirl at the moment, so no need to re-purchase.

So there you have it – all of my empties for the month of January!

Indeed Labs Retinol Reface Review

Hello, hello! Welcome to A Brash Attitude!

Today I have a review of the Indeed Labs Canada Retinol Reface that I purchased for myself a few weeks ago. [info in italics taken from the Indeed Labs Canada website]

Indeed Labs Retinol Reface 1

retinol reface™ is a 3-in-1 formula combining retinol, bakuchiol, and a retinol-like peptide to help deliver softer, smoother, and visibly younger-looking skin. Retinol, a derivative of vitamin A, and bakuchiol are considered to be two of the most effective ingredients in helping those with aging concerns. This super-concentrated night cream quickly and effectively targets signs of aging by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while minimizing redness. Additionally, it enhances skin tone, hydration, elasticity, firmness, radiance, and brightness. retinol reface™ is gentle enough to use on all skin types.

Indeed Labs Retinol Reface 2

Benefits

  • Reduces visible signs of skin aging
  • Improves skin texture and can be used by acne-prone skin
  • Delivers softer, smoother looking skin
  • Formulated with retinol microspheres to minimize sensitivity

This is a surprisingly gentle retinol formulation – a great “starter” if you are new to using retinoid based skincare, or if you have sensitive skin like me.

Indeed Labs Retinol Reface 3

If you are new to retinol, try using it every couple of days to let your skin adjust. And don’t forget to always wear SPF in the daytime, as retinoids make the skin more sensitive to sun exposure – and well, you should be wearing it anyway!

It does help improve my skin texture, and smooths things out, and it helps with fine lines and wrinkles. Price-wise, it is quite budget friendly at less than $20 CAD!

Have you tried this one? Do you have a favourite retinol product?
