Empties November 2019

Hello, hello!

Another month’s worth of empties – I think that I’ve made really great progress on my stash this month! Because I’m on a low-buy (only buying things when necessary, if I say that I would re-purchase it means eventually, not right away).

Let’s take a look:

Skincare

Empties November 2019 - Skincare

Akar Skin Balance Toning Mist – This was from my Petit Vour subscription. I loved it a lot and would love to buy a full size eventually. Review is here.

Osea Atmosphere Protection Cream – Another Petit Vour gem that I loved. Lightweight hydration. Would purchase this one. Review is here.

By Anhesa Cedar Face Cream – I won this in a giveaway. This one is great for when my skin is dry and I need a moisture boost. And it smells wonderful. Would buy. Review is here.

Honua Skincare Pa’akai Cleansing Cream – This was such a dreamy cleansing cream from my Petit Vour subscription. Would LOVE to buy a full size of this but have so many cleansers to use up. Review is here.

Cosmessential Premium Facial Serum The Grande – This was a PR sample. It worked really well for me. It was lightweight, super-hydrating and filled with loads of anti-aging ingredients. Would buy if I didn’t have several more serums to use up. Review is here.

Haircare:

Empties November 2019 - Haircare

Maui Moisture Color Protection + Sea Minerals Shampoo & Conditioner – I’ve purchased several of the Maui Moisture formulations over the past year (or two). This one might be my favourite! It helped keep my colour from fading fast and made my hair feel soft and clean. I’ll probably buy this again (eventually). Review is here.

Makeup:

Empties November 2019 - Makeup

Harvest Natural Beauty Lengthening Organic Mascara – Another Petit Vour box item. This wasn’t the mascara for me as it isn’t waterproof and my eyes water easily. If you don’t have watery eyes, you might like it a lot. Review is here.

Essence I ❤ Extreme Volume Mascara (Waterproof) – This is one of my go-to mascaras. It adds volume, holds a curl and its waterproof. Been buying this mascara since 2016! Review is here.

Joik Gloss & Care Lip Oil – My friend brought this back from Estonia a few months ago. I’m sad that it is empty because I love it so much! I bought my first one back in 2017 when I travelled to Estonia. International shipping is quite expensive, so this is going on the wishlist. Review is here.

There were a few more products that I’m so close to finishing up, hopefully they’ll be in next month’s empties. Do you finish up much this month?

Thanks for reading

Empties February 2019

Hello, hello!

It’s once again time to show you what I’ve managed to finish up from my stash. Let’s take a look and I’ll link reviews and let you know if I’ve already re-purchased, or if I plan to re-purchase in the future. Let’s take a look:

Empties February 2019 - Lowen's, Joik

Lowen’s Shampoo is Betta (*PR Sample) – This shampoo is awesome! It lathers really well and makes my hair and scalp feel so clean. The full size is going on my wishlist as I have a few shampoos to use up form my stash. Review is here.

Lowen’s Rub It In Why Don’t Ya! Face, Hand & Body Lotion (*PR sample) – Another favourite! I was using this after every shower and bath. So good for dry winter skin. Another one to add to my wishlist as I have a few body butters, and lotions to use up. Review is here.

Joik Micellar Water – I bought this when visiting Tallinn, Estonia (summer 2017). It didn’t work well for my face, as I found it to leave a soapy film, but it worked amazingly well for cleaning up arm swatches! Review is here.

Empties February 2019 - Wet n Wild, Nip + Fab

Nip + Fab Viper Venom Eye Fix – This worked great for de-puffing my under-eyes, but lately I found that I needed a little more hydration. This would be more of a summer product for me. I won’t be re-buying right now, I have two or three eye creams / serums to use up. Review is here.

Wet n Wild Ultimatebrow Retractable Brow Pencil – Thus far, this is my holy grail brow pencil! I have already purchased a replacement. So quick and easy to use. Review is here.

I also did a little decluttering in my eye and lip liner stash – these ones are quite old, so it is time to get rid of them. I have so many liners in my stash.

Empties February 2019 - Crown Brush, Absolute New York, Urban Decay

Crown Brush Kohl Pencil in Sea Green K-48 (*Freebie from the Crown Brush booth, Generation Beauty, Toronto 2016) – I didn’t love this one, it was dry and was not long wearing, so I never reached for it. The colour is really nice though. Review is here.

Absolute New York Duo Stroke Liquid Liner (*Gift Bag Swag from Generation Beauty, Toronto 2016) – I actually cannot recall the last time that I used this. I remember liking it a lot, but I rarely wear liquid liner any more. Review is here.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in Venom – I got this lip liner several years ago (even before I had started blogging), and it was lost in my stash for quite some time, and sadly has dried out.

I have a few more eye and lip liners to check and possibly declutter, so there might be more in next month’s empties.

December 2017 Empties

Hello, hello, happy new year!

I didn’t finish up as many products as I had hoped this month, but some progress is better than none at all!

Today marks my 500th blog post!

Dec 2017 Empties

Joik Gloss and Care Lip Oil (Huuleõli) – I bought this in Estonia in August, and I am sad that I’ve already finished it! I’m kicking myself for not buying several of these lip oils for my stash! The original review is here.

The Ordinary Buffet Serum – This is my second bottle of this serum, it works well for my sensitive skin. I’ll be re-purchasing a new one soon. The original review is here.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA – This is a great day or night moisturizer, lightweight yet hydrating and non-greasy. And it plays nicely with my foundation. I’ll re-purchase when I place my next order from The Ordinary. Original review is here.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Apple Brightening Cream *PR Sample* – I used this one as a night cream, great for winter weather. I have a few night creams to use up, so I don’t need to repurchase a night cream at this time. Original review is here.

Were you able to finish up very many products this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

November 2017 Empties

Hello, hello!

I’m slowly working my way through my stash and using up various bits and pieces. I didn’t finish up as many products as I had hoped, but progress is progress.

Nov 2017 Empties

Lets take a closer look at what I finished, and whether or not I would re-purchase.

Make-up:

Nov 2017 Empties

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara – This came in an Ipsy GlamBag, originally reviewed here. I had mixed feelings about this mascara when I first got it because despite it being fairly smudge proof, it didn’t hold a curl very well for me. This is not the mascara for me.

Beaute Basics Travel Face Blender – Another Ipsy GlamBag item, reviewed here. This sponge is too hard. I had hoped that I could make this little blending sponge work but I’ve tried washing it a million times and it just never softened up. Way too hard for facial use, not for me.

Bath and Body:

Nov 2017 Empties

Joik Luxurious Rose Bathmilk – I bought this in August when we were visiting Estonia, the original review is here. I’m sad that this one is finished, as I absolutely loved this bath milk – it is skin softening and gloriously rose scented! I would re-purchase this one again – but until I clear out more of my stash, it will go on my wishlist.

Skincare:

Nov 2017 Empties

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Incredible Pumpkin Peel* – Another one that I’m sad to have finished, review is here. This was a great pumpkin based facial mask / peel. If you like pumpkin, then this one is for you. If you have sensitive skin like me, it will probably tingle when you apply it (always do a patch test to make sure it is a pleasant tingle and not a melt your face off tingle). I’m currently using another pumpkin based facial mask, so I don’t need to re-purchase this right away, but again, it is on my wishlist.

Consonant DHE Mask – This was a gift from Stashy, and it just might be the best clay based mask that I’ve ever used, original review is here. It detoxifies, hydrates and exfoliates. I’ll be purchasing this facial mask very soon since I can’t imagine life without it!

Nov 2017 Empties

Cougar Beauty Snake Superfood Booster Serum* – Original review is here. I never did do a long term check in review of this serum after using it for 8 weeks, but I think that this works similar to the way that a lip plumper works – giving a temporary topical effect on the skin. I have other products in my stash that seem to have a longer lasting effect on fine lines so I won’t be purchasing a replacement.

Hylamide High-Efficiency Face Cleaner – This super gentle cleanser is somewhere between a oil cleanser and a micellar water, originally reviewed here. It is great at removing makeup, and even put a good dent in my super waterproof mascara! I plan buy this one again once I use up another cleanser in my stash.

Have you finished up many products this month?

Disclosure: Products marked with an * are PR samples. The rest have either been purchased by me, or gifted from a friend. My opinion is my own, as always!

Joik Micellar Water Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have my final Joik product review from my Estonia trip – the Micellar Water (Mitsellaarne näovesi). Here’s what it says on the Joik website:

Joik Micellar Water

This Micellar Water has a very, very, faint scent of cornflower and aloe – if you don’t have a sensitive nose, you probably won’t smell it at all.

It works well to remove most make-up – the exception being waterproof mascara – but that is fairly normal for most micellar waters that I’ve tried thus far.

The Joik Micellar Water leaves my skin feeling hydrated after using and no irritation for my sensitive skin. My only complaint is that it feels like it leaves a tiny bit of residue on the skin after I use it.

What is your fave micellar water?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Joik Uplifting Coffee Body Scrub Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a little review of another treat from Joik that I bought for myself in Estonia – the Uplifting Coffee Body Scrub. (info in italics taken from the Joik website)

Joik Uplifting Coffee Body Scrub

Uplifting body scrub is like a cup of good strong coffee! Aromatic coffee scent invigorates senses while ground coffee beans and brown sugar promote blood circulation, remove dead skin cells and help skin to renew and regenerate. Nourishing cocoa butter, shea butter and olive oil soften skin leaving it smooth and velvety. Caffeine in ground coffee beans helps to fight cellulite. In contact with warm water the scrub turns into milky lotion and is easy to wash off. Skin is moisturised, but not greasy.

JOIK scrubs do not contain any environment and water burdening plastic particles.  100% natural and/or Ecocert ingredients.

Joik Uplifting Coffee Body Scrub

I love body scrubs, and this one is definitely a good one! It isn’t as messy as most coffee scrubs, though I’m not entirely sure why. The scrub mostly just smells like coffee, but if you have a sensitive nose, you should be able to smell the cocoa and shea butters. The Uplifting Coffee Body Scrub really does make my skin feel smooth and hydrated and not at all greasy.

Are you a fan of body scrubs? Of coffee scrubs?

Joik Gloss and Care Lipoil

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of another product from my Estonian vacation mini-haul – the Gloss and Care Lipoil (Huuleõli).

Joik Lipoil1Joik Gloss and Care Lipoil

As you all probably know, I am a lip balm / lip oil addict, so it is no surprise that I purchased this one. Here’s the product description (taken from the Joik website):

Joik LipOil

Joik Glass and Care Lipoil

This Lipoil is AMAZING! I love it even more than the ones that I tried from both Essence and Milani (reviews here and here). It is so hydrating and smoothing. I like that is has a very soft sweet orange scent that isn’t overpowering or sickening candy scented.

The first time I used this Lipoil was after a 12.5 to 13 km hike while in Estonia after getting chapped lips from mild windburn. My lips were immediately soothed and no longer burning.

Joik Lipoil4

I really wish that I had bought several of these Lipoils, because I’m sure that I will use this one up quickly!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
