Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!
If you follow me on InstaGram you will have seen that I attended a Self Care Pampering virtual event hosted by Keratinworks and BlendPR. The attendees were sent a Self Care Pampering kit with loads of treats. Today I’m reviewing the Keratinworks Pinot Noir Deep Restore Mask [info in italics taken from the Keratinworks website]
This mask, made with all the natural nutrients, is for the finalization and on-going maintenance to our TANINUTRA THERAPY system. It enhances the results by reinforcing excellent anti-frizz action, progressive damage repair, luxurious shine and silkiness, and by promoting natural movement and healthy hair.
I had the Keratinworks in-salon smoothing treatment treatment done in early February (read about it here), so my hair is not currently having any issues with frizz, but because I am well overdue for a trim, my ends are on the dry side, and this mask works wonders to make my hair feel silky, healthy, and it doesn’t weigh my hair down. It has a different scent than the Keratinworks Pure line (reviewed here) – I’m not quite sure how to describe the scent, but it is pleasant, and spa-like.
Have you tried this hair mask? Are you a hair mask lover?
Thanks for reading
Disclosure: In case you missed it at the beginning, this was part of a gifted package from a virtual PR event. Thanks Keratinworks and BlendPR! My opinion is always my own.

If you follow me on InstaGram, you will have seen that I attended the Keratinworks Self Care Pampering Virtual Event with BlendPR. Attendees received a box of self care pampering goodies, and today I’m reviewing the Boscia Luminizing Charcoal Mask [info in italics taken from the Boscia website]
Peel to reveal a luminous, detoxified, and flawless complexion with an innovative peel-off mask powered by Activated Black Charcoal. The original charcoal mask and reigning fan favorite, Luminizing Charcoal Mask is a peel-off mask powerhouse that unveils a post-peel, pore-less glow worth sharing. Chock-full of powerful antioxidants like Activated Charcoal and Vitamin C, this powerfully detoxifying mask helps to minimize the appearance of pores, banish blackheads, and enhance radiance while leaving your skin feeling flawlessly fresh and clean!
This is the first peel off mask that I’ve tried, and it is really good! It helps to deep clean your pores, and clear out blackheads – which comes in handy as my nose has been getting more blackheads than normally, likely due to wearing masks. And because it contains Vitamin C, it will also help brighten my skin.
Have you tried this peel off mask?

Attendees received a box of self care pampering goodies, and today I’m reviewing The Beauty of Eczema Bath Salts [info in italics taken from The Beauty of Eczema website]
The Beauty of Eczema™ is a full range of products for very dry and sensitive skin that was born through Camille’s personal struggles. Camille proudly created a range of beautiful, natural, vegan, cruelty-free, botanically scented skincare suitable for sensitive skin angels. Camille particularly loves that they contain over 97.8% naturally derived ingredients from oat lipids to sweet almond oil and the beautiful ‘imperfectly perfect’ packaging design.
Bath Salts for very dry & sensitive skin.
With 99.9% naturally derived ingredients. Apply a generous handful to a warm bath and relax from the stresses of the day.
I’ve been curious about this brand as my skin is on the sensitive side, and have heard great things about The Beauty of Eczema. I love bath salts in general, so I was excited to try these Bath Salts out. These are very gentle and soothing – my skin felt great after my bath! I’d like to try more from this brand as they don’t dry out my skin.
Have you tried anything from The Beauty of Eczema?

Disclosure: In case you missed it at the very beginning, this was a gifted package from a PR event. However, my opinions (and sensitive skin) are very much my own and this little review is based on my experience with the product.
Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!
Two weeks ago I was hosted by the Annie Young Boutique Spa and Keratinworks to have an in salon Keratinworks Treatment. You can read all about it here.
This photo is after one week and two washes:
As you can see, my waves haven’t fully returned yet, but there is no frizz! And my hair takes half the usual time to blow it dry with my Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer.
This second photo is after two weeks and another two washes:
My waves are starting to return – YAY! But without my usual halo of frizz. In this photo, my hair was air dried to see if there would be any frizz.
Pretty great right? I’m loving my hair!

Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude!
If you’ve been following my blog since last year, you will remember that I had been gifted a PR package from Keratinworks of their Keratinworks Pure product line (review is here). I’ve been using the entire product line since then, so I was super excited when BlendPR / Keratinworks reached out to invite me to have a Keratinworks Salon Treatment, hosted by the Annie Young Boutique Spa in Westmount.
I had not been to the Annie Young Boutique Spa before. It is such a beautiful space, and the staff there are so welcoming and so friendly! They do hair, manicure / pedicure, facials, massage, makeup – they do it all!
Let’s take a look at the Keratinworks Salon Treatment [infographic from Keratinworks PR kit / BlendPR].
There are three techniques – Botox, Classic and Super Smooth – depending on the level of volume reduction / smoothing that your hair needs. Because I prefer to wear my hair wavy, we chose the Botox Technique as it would allow me to keep my waves, while still eliminating frizz.
In my excitement, I only remembered to take one quick before photo – my hair had been blow dried with my Dyson and diffuser attachment, and minimal product – so that the salon could see my hair in its natural state and texture. Please note – I am in the process of growing out hair dye, and I’m due for a haircut.
Emily applied my treatment, and explained the process each step of the way which I loved. First my hair was washed to remove any styling / product from my hair, before applying the Keratinworks Treatment from root to tip. Then my hair was wrapped in plastic, and I sat under the Processor / heat machine for approximately 45 minutes.
The plastic is then removed, and my hair was left to cool – maybe 10 minutes – I was reading a book so I’m not 100% sure how long the cool down took.
Next the treatment was partially rinsed out of my hair (about 20% should remain in the hair at this point).
Next, my hair was combed through and dried before “heat setting” the treatment with a flatiron passed a number of times over each section of my hair.
The entire process from start to finish took roughly three hours, and if taken care of, the results should last anywhere from 3 to 4 months, and in come cases, as long as 6 months!
They recommend using the Keratinworks Pure line as aftercare, and to avoid any hair products with sulfates, as they will ruin the results / cause the treatment to wear off quickly.
I was gifted the Keratinworks Pure line (shampoo, conditioner, hydrating hair mask, Liss BB-Cream and Crystal Serum) for after treatment care – which is wonderful because I absolutely love the products!
The first and most important aftercare advice was to wait at least 48 hours before washing my hair. I will post again with my results after washing and styling it myself as few times to let you all know how my waves behave.
Have you tried this salon treatment?

Disclosure: The Keratinworks Salon Treatment was hosted – thank you Keratinworks, Annie Young Boutique Spa and BlendPR. My thoughts and opinions are based on my experience.
Hello, hello – welcome to / welcome back to A Brash Attitude! Today I have a review of the wonderful PR package that I received from Keratinworks and BlendPR. The package is of the entire newly launched Keratinworks Pure Haircare line which includes the Keratinworks Pure Shampoo & Conditioner, the Keratinworks Pure Liss BB-Cream, the Keratinworks Pure Crystal Serum and the Keratinworks Smoothing System Hydrating Mask! Keratinworks is a woman-owned Canadian company, based in Montreal. Their line is sulfate and paraben free, colour safe, cruelty-free and vegan [info in italics taken from the Keratinworks website].
I’ve been using the entire product line since it arrived. The products all work together to help nurture my frizz prone hair, leaving me with hair that feels clean, soft and silky, and so much more manageable and smooth. And the shine is out of this world! I love this line.
Let’s take a look at each product, starting with the Pure Shampoo and Conditioner:
The KERATINWORKS PURE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER have been formulated to infuse your hair with pure, natural, and essential nutrients that will maintain your hair’s health, shine, and hydration while ensuring the optimal pH level for luxurious smoothness. Enriched with coconut water and oil, Vitamins A, B1, B2, C and E. This exclusive formula is SLS FREE, PARABEN FREE, VEGAN, and COLOR SAFE. It also contains keratin proteins and amino acids that will reinforce as well as prolong the effects of your KERATINWORKS treatment.
The Pure Shampoo & Conditioner add hydration without weighing my hair down. The shampoo doesn’t lather up super well which is common for sulfate free formulas, but it does a great job making my hair feel clean and hydrated. Both the shampoo & conditioner have a really beautiful scent – and not over-scented at all.
Up next is the Pure Liss BB-Cream:
KERATINWORKS PURE LISS BB-CREAM is the ultimate multipurpose leave-in conditioner. This pure and natural ingredient combination will provide hydration, conditioning, heat-protection, damage repair, frizz control, shine and luxurious smooth silkiness. It’s the perfect extension to your KERATINWORKS treatment. It will also provide on-going treatment as well as anti-frizz action during humidity and for blow dry styling. Oh and don’t forget the OMG irresistible fragrance!
I really love this BB-Cream, it conditions and adds heat protection, and helps tame frizz – my biggest hair problem! The scent is a little more pronounced than the shampoo & conditioner, but again, as someone who doesn’t enjoy over-scented products, it isn’t that level of scent power. The scent differs from the shampoo & conditioner, this one has slightly spicy notes.
The Pure Crystal Serum:
Lastly, the KERATINWORKS PURE CRYSTAL SERUM is the finishing touch that is packed with pure, natural, and essential nutrients that will boost your hair’s shine and brilliance. Vitamin E, Coconut Oil, amino acids, berry extracts and plant-based keratin work together to nourish and protect your hair. Add the final sparkle and the OMG fabulous fragrance to your hair!
The Serum is the finishing touch for my hair. It seals in the shine, and also helps keep my hair smooth and frizz-free. It has the same scent as the BB Cream.
The Pure Liss BB-Cream and Pure Crystal Serum can be applied together, or separately – where you apply the BB Cream, then dry and style your hair, followed by the Pure Crystal Serum. I’ve tried it both ways – I prefer to mix them together if I’m air drying my hair, and separately if I’m using my Dyson hair dryer.
Let’s not forget the Hydrating Mask:
This hydrating mask restores the natural pH of hair with its formulation rich in vitamins E, F and conditioning agents that provide extreme softness, shine and hydration to the hair.
The Hydrating Mask is a super luxe treatment mask and should be used once or twice a month, leaving it on for 30 to 45 minutes. I LOVE hair masks – especially when my hair needs a hydration boost.
Keratinworks also has a Pure Violet Shampoo and Hydrating Mask formulated for blondes.
