Empties – December 2018

Empties December 2018 - Lily De Mai, Harmony + Blossom, Essence, Hurraw

Hello, hello!

As per usual, I’ve kept my empties for the month. I did not manage to finish up very many things in December, but since my goal is to use things up, any empties are progress in my quest to not let products go to waste.

Let’s take a look, and I will link to reviews and let you know if I will be repurchasing or not.

Empties December 2018 - Essence, Lily De Mai, Harmony & Blossom, Hurraw

Essence I ❤ Extreme Volume Mascara (Waterproof) – I’ve purchased this so many times, this is my HG waterproof mascara. I always go back to this or the Get Big Lashes one after I test out others. Original review is here.

Lily De Mai Bliss Transformative Moisture Mist – I absolutely loved this facial mist and I’m sad that it is empty. I’m putting it on my wishlist as I have a few facial mists in my stash to use up. Original review is here. (PR sample)

Harmony + Blossom Cleansing Clay – This was a super gentle exfoliating clay cleanser. I have a bit of a cleanser stash to work through, so I won’t be purchasing this right now (even though I liked it a lot). Original review is here. (PR sample)

Essence The False Lashes Mascara – This is my fave non-waterproof mascara because it adds volume and holds a curl and I’ve purchased it several times. It even manages to hold up pretty well when my eyes water from laughing! I’ll purchase this again once I finish up another mascara in my stash. Original review is here.

Hurraw Lip Balm (Earl Grey) – I loved this lip balm. It smells like earl grey tea (bergamot). I’m a lip balm addict and just got a ton of new lip balms in my stash, so I won’t replace this just yet. I’m still using the Hurraw Moon Lip Balm at night (when I’m not using my Bite Beauty Lip Mask). Review is here.

Were you able to finish up much in December?

Empties – August 2018

Hello, hello!

Another month of product empties – I think that I made pretty good progress at finishing things up this past month. Let’s take a look:

Empties August 2018

Briogeo Rosarco Blow Dry Perfection – I don’t blow dry my hair often in the warmer months, and I have a few more hair products in my stash right now, so I don’t need to replace this. Review is here.

Attitude Super Leaves Colour Protection Conditioner – I’m not quite finished the matching shampoo. I will likely repurchase both once I use up another set in my stash. Review is here.

Now Essential Oils in Eucalyptus and Peppermint – Already repurchased!

Zabana Essentials Baking Soda Free Deodorant – This worked for a few hours on my before crapping out. I only used it if I was working from home to give my underarms a break. I’m currently using the Sensitive Formula Deodorant from Native as it has longer staying power for me. Reviews are here and here.

Empties August 2018Ursa Major 4-in-1 Essential Face Wipes – I’m not a facial wipe person, so I was mainly just using these as a preliminary step in cleansing as I just don’t feel that a wipe will get my face super clean. Review is here.

Poetic Blend Ghost Oil – I loved this light facial oil! If I didn’t have a few oils in my stash to use up, I would purchase a full size of this one. Review is here.

Lily de Mai Renew Restorative Calming Cream Cleanser [pr sample] – I’m sad that I finished this cleanser, it was so lovely and gentle. Probably my favourite cleanser for 2018. I’m still working my way through several cleansers in my stash, so I will not be replacing this right now – but it is going to the top of my wishlist! Review is here.

MüN Anarose Hydrating Rose Toner – I love facial mists / toners and have a few in my fridge right now (two or three) so I don’t need to buy a replacement. Review is here.

My two facial powders are STILL GOING! Here’s the wet n wild one:

StillNotEmptyAug18

Hopefully I’ll finish this one up by the end of the year, haha!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure – Most things purchased by me, all PR samples are identified. My opinion is very much my own.

Lily de Mai Sensitive Skincare – Renew and Bliss Reviews

Hello, hello!

As you all probably know, I have sensitive skin. Lily de Mai is a line of skincare formulated for sensitive skin – so when the owner and founder reached out to me, of course I was very interested in testing out two of their products – the Renew Restorative Calming Cream Cleanser and the Bliss NMF Transformative Moisture Mist.  [info in italics taken from the Lily de Mai website]

Even though the line is formulated for sensitive skin, I still did my usual skin patch test before trying the products on my face. I find that this really helps prevent any disastrous skin reactions – otherwise known as the face melting off effect!

Lily de Mai

Renew Restorative Calming Cream Cleanser:

Lily de Mai

Reveal fresh, vibrant, and renewed skin with this rich, restorative botanical cream cleanser.   Organic Argan oil, Avocado oil, and Shea Butter soften skin and fortify the protective skin barrier. Panthenol and Hyaluronic Acid help to increase and maintain optimum hydration levels. Allantoin encourages cell turnover and radiance while a botanical blend of four comforting herbs calm and soothe skin. Soap and surfactant free, non-drying, thoroughly effective and supremely gentle, a perfect daily cleanser for sensitive skin.

The Restore Cream Cleanser is SO gentle, yet my face feels super clean and hydrated after using. The cleanser feels silky and calming, and the scent is minimal – perfect for sensitive skin like mine. I’ve been using this cleanser both day and night for the past two weeks, and my skin looks and feels so smooth.

Bliss – NMF Transformative Moisture Mist

Lily de Mai

15 active ingredients, featuring skin-identical Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF), Sodium PCA and Hyaluronic Acid, dramatically enhance and maintain skin hydration.  Niacinamide brightens dull, uneven skin tone.  Yeast Oligopeptide and Soy Amino Acids help to support the protective skin barrier and encourage collagen production.  Raw earth, bio-available minerals balance oil production, minimize pores and remineralize skin.   While a blend of seven organic botanicals calm distressed skin and help to reduce redness.  Your skin is fortified against daily environmental stress, blissfully hydrated, beautifully firm and luminous.

The Bliss Moisture Mist is fantastic – it is soothing and calming. I’m even noticing a reduction in redness!  It is filled with loads of skin-friendly ingredients and because it is hydrating and oil balancing I think that this would work well for all skin types.

A final bit about Lily de Mai – when you read this, you might fall in love:

Who is LILY DE MAI?

LILY DE MAI is a person — my beautiful, and talented, grandmother, Lily. It is a flower, the exquisite and voluptuously fragrant Rose de Mai (Rosa centifolia). It is a month, May, which brings us spring, rebirth, flowers, sun, and the promise of summer. LILY DE MAI is joy, life, and the beauty in all things, everywhere around us.

How lovely is that? Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤
