Empties October 2019

Empties Oct 2019 - Buck Naked Soap Company, Native Deodorant, The Seaweed Bath Co., Moon Rivers Naturals

Hello, hello!

Another month of empties that I managed to finish up from my stash. I’ll link to the original reviews and let you know if I would re-purchase or not (immediately or eventually).

Bath + Bodycare:

Empties Oct 2019 - Buck Naked Soap Company, Native Deodorant, The Seaweed Bath Co., Moon Rivers Naturals

Buck Naked Soap Company Geranium + Purple Clay Sugar Scrub – This was gifted to me, and I loved it so much. I plan on getting myself a replacement the next time I do a haul from well.ca. Review is here.

Native Deodorant Vanilla & Rose – I’ve been using Native for over a year now, and it works well for my body chemistry. I have a few in various scents in my stash, so no need to repurchase just yet. Reviews are here and the sensitive formula here.

The Seaweed Bath Co. Firming Detox Cream – This was from a recent Petit Vour box. I really liked this body cram a lot, and would love to have a full size. I have some other body lotions and creams to use up, so for now it is a wishlist item. Review is here.

Moon Rivers Naturals Peppermint Lava Salt Hand + Body Soap – This was also from a recent Petit Vour box. I loved this shower gel, it smelled so good. I have other soaps / shower gels to use up, so I won’t be buying a full size right now, but probably would eventually. Review is here.

Skincare + Makeup:

Empties Oct 2019 - Ursa Major, Covergirl, Lily Lolo, Goldfaden MD, Cosmessential

Ursa Major Bright & Easy Flash Mask – This was a Petit Vour box sample. I really loved this mask. It worked so well on my sensitive skin and made it look so bright! A definite wishlist item as I have more skincare to use up. Review is here.

Covergirl The Super Sizer Waterproof Mascara – This mascara was good, but not a holy grail for me, so I won’t repurchase this particular one, but will likely buy a different one from Covergirl to try. Review is here.

Lily Lolo Makeup Mist – This was a nice setting spray that came in my Petit Vour subscription, I used it more as a facial mist than as a makeup setting spray. I’m currently testing out another makeup setting spray and a few toner mists so no need to replace. Review is here.

Goldfaden MD Needle-less Line Smoothing Concentrate – Another Petit Vour sample that I loved! I’m still using up a few serums, but would love to eventually get a full size of this one! Review is here.

Cosmessential Essential C Serum – This was a PR sample. My skin loved this Vitamin C based serum, so onto the wishlist it goes as I have several serums that I need to finish up. Review is here.

Did you finish up much this month?

Thanks for reading

Lily Lolo Makeup Mist Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Makeup Mist from cruelty free brand Lily Lolo that came in my November Petit Vour subscription box. [all info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Lily Lolo Makeup Mist

A refreshing mist that sets make-up and prolongs its hold, specifically formulated to leave make-up looking flawless without smudging or setting into fine lines. The perfect final step for flawless, long-lasting makeup.

I don’t think that I’ve ever tried a makeup setting spray before, so I was excited to test this one out. This is also the first Lily Lolo product that I’ve tried!

Taking a look at the ingredient list (which is not only cruelty free, but also vegan), there are loads of skin friendly ingredients.

Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Panthenol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice Powder, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Citric Acid, Lycium Chinense (Goji Berry) Fruit Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract)

Lily Lolo2

The Lily Lolo Makeup Mist does help my makeup stay fresh looking, and helps to set it. The mist also makes a nice skin refresher on no-makeup days when my skin needs a blast of refreshing moisture. As an added plus, it has little to no scent.

My only complaint is that the sprayer / nozzle is inconsistent, not always a gentle mist, sometimes more of a splatter – which smears my makeup instead of setting it. I plan to put it into a bottle with a better sprayer / nozzle because I’d like to continue using this setting spray.

I’d like to try more from Lily Lolo.

Have you tried this setting spray? If not, which one do you use? Or do you not use setting sprays?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

November 2017 Petit Vour Unboxing

Hello, hello!

My November Petit Vour box arrived this week, so I thought I would share my unboxing and first impressions with you. Reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to test things out.

Petit Vour Nov 2017

Let’s take a closer look shall we…

Juice Beauty Green Apple Brightening Gel Cleanser ($15 USD)

Petit Vour Nov 2017

I love skincare products, so I was super happy to see a nice sized deluxe sample facial cleanser – especially one that I have not tried before.

Lily Lolo Makeup Setting Spray ($18 USD)

Petit Vour Nov 2017

Another brand that I’ve been curious about trying. I’ve never used a makeup setting spray before, so I’m looking forward to trying this one out.

Metta Coconut Lip Balm ($14 USD)

Petit Vour Nov 2017

This looks like a really great quality lip balm and I am a lip balm addict, but I cannot deal with the scent of coconut, so I’m going to be gifting this to someone who will use it.

Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Muscle Bath and Shower Oil (sample size price not listed, I would guess based on the cost of the full size, with approximately $4 USD)

Petit Vour Nov 2017

The information card lists My Daughter’s Fragrances My Wild Perfume at $2.50 USD for the sample. I was a little disappointed not the get the perfume sample because it sounds like something I would like with violets, pink pepper, juniper berry, vanilla, atlas cedar, sandalwood, vetiver and guaiac wood. But the De-Stress Muscle Bath & Shower Oil sounds lovely as it is rosemary, lavender and ginger – can’t wait to try it out!

Petit Vour Nov 2017

Total value of box (with my estimate of the value of the bath and shower oil) is $51 USD – the box costs me $23 USD which at the current exchange rate that I paid works out to be $30 CAD, so the box is worth $66.50 CAD.

Reviews to follow once I’d had a chance to try everything out!

Overall, I’m happy with this month’s Petit Vour box, even though I’m passing the lip balm to someone else.

Disclosure: I pay for this monthly subscription!
