Catrice Lip Super Serum Review

Today I’m reviewing the Lip Super Serum from Catrice that I recently purchased as a part of a small haul from Shoppers Drug Mart / Pharmaprix [info in italics taken from the Shoppers website].

Lip Boost! Catrice Volumizing Lip Balm with slightly cooling texture softly tingles and plumps upon application. • Plumps and adds lip volume • Not tested on animals *Can be worn alone or under lipstick Catrice Beauty Tip: Perfect product to layer under lipstick or lip gloss for a fuller lip look

I really don’t feel the cooling or tingle effect when I apply this lip serum, nor do I feel that it plumps my lips. However, I do feel that it hydrates nicely and is non-sticky. So as a smoothing and hydrating gloss it is a lovely lip oil type product, but as a plumper, I feel that it is a bit of a dud. I’ll definitely finish it up as I’m constantly applying balms / glosses / serums / oils in the winter as my lips get SO DRY!

Essence Lips Go Wow! Plumping Lipgloss Review

Hello, hello!

Today I have a short little review of the Lips Go Wow! Plumping Lipgloss from Essence Cosmetics that I purchased recently. [info in italics taken from the Shoppers / Pharmaprix website]

The lipglosses with a high-shine finish provide the lips with a visible plumping effect. The transparent gloss contains menthol for a cooling sensation, while the red gloss heats up the lips with a prickling warming effect.

I got the clear gloss. It isn’t a sticky feeling gloss, thankfully. It feels cooling and mildly tingly on my lips. The plumping is not mega pronounced, but I can see a difference when I apply it.

All in all I think it is an ok lip plumper, but an excellent lip gloss – and I’m not a big fan of lip glosses generally.

Clove + Hallow Lip Glaze (Candied Hearts) Review

Today I have a review of the Lip Glaze from Clove + Hallow in the shade Candied Hearts that came this week in my June Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Clove + Hallow Lip Glaze

Formulated with natural olive oil, jojoba oil, and shea butter, the Lip Glaze offers inspired color and a dazzling finish without stickiness.

The Lip Glaze is available in six different shades:

Bubbly – pink-y nude
Angelic – neutral mauve
Candied Hearts – muted bubblegum pink
Prep – brighter, coral-toned pink
Mai Tai – peach with a touch of gold shimmer
Spicy – deep raspberry

Clove + Hallow Lip Glaze

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you will know that I’m not a big fan of lip glosses as most of them have a sticky texture that I can’t stand. This Lip Glaze is not supposed to be sticky, which gave me high hopes.

The packaging is a click type applicator brush, similar to the Stila Lip Glazes. The first use took forever for any of the product to come out onto the brush tip – at first I thought that it would never come out!

The shade Candied Hearts is described as a muted bubblegum pink. It is a pretty colour, with a surprisingly non-sticky lip feel, and a sheer wash of colour. I do think that I would have preferred either the shade Prep or Spicy though, but I’ll likely get loads of use from this shade.

Flickable Lip Gloss Pops

First off, the packaging is adorable! But more importantly, Flickable Lip Gloss Pops are cruelty-free and vegan. They are comfortable and not at all sticky on the lips, making my lips feel smooth and soft. The moisture level is on par with some of my fave lip balms!

I’m not normally a fan of lip glosses, I find them to be sticky, gloppy and gummy, and my hair instantly becomes stuck to my lips. Ugh. BUT, I have to say that this is the nicest lip gloss that I’ve ever used! It isn’t sticky or gross at all. And it doesn’t seem to be a magnet for my hair, haha!

I’ve taken over 50 photos to try to get a decent shot of this gloss on my lips, and they all without fail are slightly out of focus, so I apologize for that…

The shade Plumble on me is pinky toned, almost a raspberry colour. The plumping action comes on gradually, but then it is full tingle action! It feels to me like when you have a mouthful of super carbonated fizzy water, but on your lips!
