Joik Gloss and Care Lipoil

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of another product from my Estonian vacation mini-haul – the Gloss and Care Lipoil (Huuleõli).

Joik Lipoil1Joik Gloss and Care Lipoil

As you all probably know, I am a lip balm / lip oil addict, so it is no surprise that I purchased this one. Here’s the product description (taken from the Joik website):

Joik LipOil

Joik Glass and Care Lipoil

This Lipoil is AMAZING! I love it even more than the ones that I tried from both Essence and Milani (reviews here and here). It is so hydrating and smoothing. I like that is has a very soft sweet orange scent that isn’t overpowering or sickening candy scented.

The first time I used this Lipoil was after a 12.5 to 13 km hike while in Estonia after getting chapped lips from mild windburn. My lips were immediately soothed and no longer burning.

I really wish that I had bought several of these Lipoils, because I’m sure that I will use this one up quickly!

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment

Hello, hello!

If you remember, I was in love with the Essence Lip Oil that I purchased at Generation Beauty in Toronto in May (review is here). I just recently finished it off and was unable to find it at any of the pharmacies here, and it wasn’t even listed on the Canadian Essence website!

I began searching for a lip oil substitute. Kaily from Hello Kaily asked me if I had tried the Milani one – which I had not. Milani is fairly hard to find in Montreal, but at the drugstore near my mother’s house in Nova Scotia, they usually carry most, if not all, of the Milani line. She was kind enough to check to see if they carried the Milani Lip Oil and less than a week later, a package arrive with not one, but two, of the Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatments. (Thanks Mom! <3)

Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment

Discover a revolution in lip hydration plus a healthy dose of shine with a first-of-its-kind lip oil in 8 addictively scented, kiss quenching shades. All lip oils are formulated with the natural healing power of Jojoba, Avocado and Tsubaki Oil. As an added benefit, each shade is infused with different nutrient-dense oils that treat a specific concern. The soft, extra plush applicator hugs the curves of your lips, locking in moisture.

There are eight different “shades” available – Moisturizing Almond Coco (coconut), Healing Lemon Honey, Rejuvenating Peach Mango, Conditioning Grapeseed, Repairing Primrose, Revitalizing Grapefruit, Protecting Pomegranate, and Nourishing Raspberry.

My mom sent the  Repairing Primrose and Protecting Pomegranate Lip Oil Treatments. The Milani Lip Oil feels a lot like the Essence one, not sticky or goopy at all, and the scents are mild. I’ve only been wear testing the Repairing Primrose Lip Oil so far and I love it.

The applicator is super soft, wide and paddle shaped, making it really easy to quickly apply the lip oil.

Have you tried this lip oil? Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Lip Products – Generation Beauty Edit

Hello, hello!

Today I’m swatching and reviewing the lip products that I got at the Generation Beauty event.

First up we have a Melted Chocolate Liquified Long Wearing Lipstick from Too Faced in Chocolate Honey. *Generation Beauty Freebie at the Too Faced booth*

Our bestselling Melted and Melted Metal Liquified Lipsticks went through the candy factory for a delectable makeover in six new cocoa-powder-infused shades. Each mouth-watering tube comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, high-impact, saturated color, while an innovative, angled velvet tip allows for precise application. Exclusive technology inspired by the molten form of lipstick during lab production keeps lipsticks melted for the most high impact color and rich shine possible.

My Experience:

This liquid lipstick is fairly long wearing and keeps it shine, very comfortable on the lips, but does not feel like a goopy lip gloss. (In case you didn’t know, I’m not a big fan of most lip glosses). It is a nice brown toned neutral on me since I’m still pretty pale from winter. On darker skins it would probably be a gorgeous nude shade.

Up next we have the Prettifying Lip Oil from Essence Cosmetics. *I purchased this as part of the “pick any five items for $15 CAD” deal that they had at the Essence booth*

oil you want. enriched with jojoba oil to provide the lips with intensive moisture. the light, non-sticky texture offers a subtle-colour shine.

It is available in three different tints: 01 i care for you, honey, 02 first help, pinky and 03 SOS, my heart.

My Experience:

I did not think that I was going to like this because it looks a lot like a sticky lip gloss, but I’ve been using it non-stop all weekend! It does a good job keeping my lips moisturized. It has a faint fruity scent which fades quickly after applying. It is a very faint tint that shows on the lips, but does not show in a skin swatch.

Up next is the Longlasting Lipstick from Essence Cosmetics in shade 14 Adorable Matt!. *Generation Beauty Freebie from the Essence booth*

longlasting love… you simply have to fall in love with the longlasting lipsticks by essence. the lipsticks provide your lips with intensive color for several hours without drying them out. you’re sure to find whatever you’re looking for – from bright pink to intensive red and chilled-out berry to subtle nude shades. the essence logo on the texture and the matt, black packaging with a ring of color to match the actual color of the lipstick are true eye-catchers!

My Experience:

This is my first lipstick from Essence. I don’t find it to be drying and the colour is fairly long wearing. A fun colour for spring and summer!

Last but not least we have the Nudestix Gel Color Lip and Cheek Balm in shade Pulse (pretty plum nude). *Generation Beauty Freebie from the Nudestix booth*

What it is: An super-moisturizing lip balm with rich color and gel shine.
What it does:  Bring ultimate shine, smooth coverage, and a pop of color to lips with Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balm. It’s formulated with over 30 percent ultra-hydrating, lip-protecting plant lipids that are sourced from rapeseed, sunflower, cotton seed, and soybean—plus, vitamin E as an antioxidant. It provides vibrant color with smooth coverage, while the gel polymers impart a fresh, wet gloss without stickiness.

My Experience:

This lip and cheek balm has all the shine of a lip gloss without the dreaded goop effect that I dislike. It is super moisturizing and smooth. I’m definitely going to be wearing this one a lot this summer! It is a beautiful pinky plum toned nude shade that will work well on a wide range of skin tones from light to dark. I have not worn it on my cheeks yet though.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: I received some of these items from the Generation Beauty by IPSY event. I paid for my ticket to the event with my own money and am under no obligation to review any of these things. I also purchased some of these items.
