Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing my newest addition to my lipstick collection – a Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick from Nyx in the shade Tea & Cookies, a muted tea rose pink.

Doll up your lips in plush and vibrant color! Our Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick glides on and sets into a striking matte finish. Now available in 12 more velvety-soft shades, this waterproof lippie creates a positively polished look with every swipe.

Yes, another tea rose shade. What can I say, I love this colour for summer!

Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick

This is not an uncomfortable liquid matte lipstick. My lips felt nice for several hours before I needed any lip balm, which for me is amazing because I normally apply lip balm all the time! I did not find it to be crumbly or wear off weirdly – which is often a problem with some liquid matte lipsticks.

Here’s a side by side swatch comparison with the Nyx Matte Lipstick in Tea Rose (reviewed previously here):

I love both shades! They are different enough that I can justify having both of them.

Have you tried any of the Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks?

Black Moon Cosmetics Unboxing!

Black Moon Cosmetics

Hello, hello!

Today is my birthday! Every year I buy myself a little birthday treat.

I showed a sneak peek last week on my Instagram:

IG Sneak peek

I’ve been wanting to order from Black Moon Cosmetics since the very first time that I saw their liquid to matte lipsticks on InstaGram. My package arrived in a plain black box, but upon opening it, I was amazed at the detail of the mailer box:

And here’s the packaging for the two liquid to matte lipsticks that I ordered, the packaging is STUNNING!

I love that the ingredients list is printed on the box.

Also, they are cruelty free and vegan!

Now onto the lipsticks themselves!

I chose two of the Liquid to Matte Lipsticks, the first one is Selene.

The second one is Wrath:

Isn’t the packaging beautiful?

Ok, now onto the swatching and review!

Selene is described as “A beautiful deep plum with a gorgeous soft purple pearlescent sheen” and Wrath is “The perfect combination of mauve with a hint of pink and a touch of brown

Here’s what it says on the website:

Black Moon Cosmetics has been striving for the past year to bring the finest quality ingredients and the most pigmented colors to grace your pretty face — starting with our amazing line of Liquid to Matte lipsticks. We have made sure every detail is accounted for from our beautifully mysterious packaging to our amazingly unique formula. Our formula’s uniqueness starts from our creamy, whipped texture allowing for buttery smooth application, to our incredibly moisturizing qualities leaving your pout so soft! Our flexible formula does not allow for any cracking or crumbling, it stays put for 5+ hours with no lip liner needed, is kiss-proof, and smells like a freshly baked vanilla cake!

As I’ve said before, most matte lipsticks (whether liquid or in stick form) make my lips want to fall off, so I was taking a chance on ordering these two Liquid to Matte Lipsticks. But as described, they are creamy, and the texture is whipped, almost mousse-like which makes application easy, and the wear is actually comfortable.

Both Selene and Wrath have a four to five hour wear time for me so far, and did not flake or wear off. I really thought that I would need a lip liner for the darker of the two shades, Selene, but there was no bleeding or feathering along the lip line.

I love both shades, but will probably get the most wear out of Wrath. I’m so happy that I finally got my hands on these liquid to matte lipsticks from Black Moon Cosmetics! ❤

Here's another photo because the first swatch photo didn't really capture the metallic sheen of Selene, Wrath got a little rubbed on the edges from my sweater sleeve before it was fully dried down, I didn't have this problem on my lips though.

Nyx Matte Lipstick – Tea Rose – Review

Nyx Matte Lipstick - Tea Rose

Hello, hello!

I bought this Nyx Matte Lipstick about 2.5 to 3 weeks ago, and I’ve practically worn it every day! Personally, I’m not a big matte lip fan – I mean it looks great, but most matte formulations make my lips feel like they might fall off and die.

Nyx Matte Lipstick - Tea Rose

Why did I buy a matte lipstick then? Because I liked the colour – Tea Rose – described on the website as a mauve-pink, but on me, it is a perfect rose tone, less mauve, more rosy pink.

Here’s what it says on the website about the Matte Lipsticks:

NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented richly formulated and long-wearing. The formula glides on smoothly and stays put with a non-drying matte finish.

This lipstick really is highly pigmented and long wearing, and actually does not dry my lips out at all! It is moisturizing, almost, but not quite, buttery on the lips.

Nyx Matte Lipstick - Tea Rose

A very pretty shade for spring (or Valentine’s day), even though as I type this it is super mega cold here in Montréal this morning. But I’m dreaming of spring!

Give Me Glow Liquified Matte Lipstick (Tube)

I’ve been following the Give me Glow instagram for awhile now, and was intrigued to try out her matte liquid lipsticks. I ordered them in shades “Girl Interrupted” and “Deja Vu” from the Give Me Glow etsy shop. Both are dupes for a well-known and controversial company.

GiveMeGlow Matte

“Girl Interrupted” is a light purple-grey toned nude, and “Deja Vu” is a pinky-brown toned nude.

Here is the description of the wearability of the matte lipsticks from their Etsy shop:

These are very matte, they will stay for a long time. Even when I ate lunch, it was still on. Also these are waterproof but NOT transfer proof. They will not just come completely off like a actual lipstick would but, they do have little transfer. I have moisturizing ingredients in them so they will hydrate lips as well as maintaining the matte finish.

My experience: Both shades were surprisingly non-drying, and with long-wearing pigmentation, and only minimal transfer. Both have a great matte finish, with a smooth creamy application. I will definitely purchase more products in the future!

GiveMeGlow Swatch

You can find these liquid matte lipsticks (and several other products) in the Give Me Glow Etsy shop. I would highly recommend checking the store out!

These products were purchased by me, and the review is based on my experience of the products.
