Alima Pure Natural Definition Eye Pencil Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the Alima Pure Natural Definition Eye Pencil that came in my March Petit Vour box. I finally got around to testing it out! [info in italics taken from Petit Vour]

Alima Pure Natural Eye Pencil

A long lasting, highly pigmented natural eyeliner pencil. Natural Definition Eye Pencil is filled with soothing natural oils, waxes, and Chamomile extract to protect the delicate eye area. This eyeliner glides on smoothly, blends beautifully, and lasts all day.

Alima Pure Natural Eye Pencil

On the Petit Vour website it shows three shades: Coffee (rich cocoa brown), Ink (carbon black) and Patina (shimmering taupe). I received the shade Coffee thankfully as I have way too many black liners in my stash!

Its super pigmented, long wearing, and applies smoothly too! The Coffee shade is a gorgeous deep dark brown. Perfect for when you just don’t feel like wearing black liner!

Alima Pure Natural Eye Pencil

100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Simmondsia Chinesis (Hydrogenated Jojoba) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Gossypium Herbaceum (Hydrogenated Cottonseed) Oil, Mangnifera Indica (Mango) Seed Oil, Mica (CI 77019), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Cera, Glyceryl Caprylate, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Cera, Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Chamomilla Recutita (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Ascorbyl Palmitate [+/- CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491 (Iron Oxide-Red), CI 77492 (Iron Oxide-Yellow), CI 77499 (Iron Oxide-Black)]. Petit Vour Unboxing + First Impressions March 2020

Hello, hello!

My March Petit Vour box finally arrived on April 15th! I often show my Petit Vour box on my InstaGram, but here on the blog you will get the unboxing AND first impressions. Full reviews to follow once I’ve had a chance to test things out. [info in italics is taken from the Petit Vour website]

Petit Vour March 2020

I have temporarily cancelled my Petit Vour subscription, so I will not be getting the April box. I plan on re-subscribing as soon as life returns to some state of normality.

Petit Vour March 2020

Petit Vour is a cruelty-free and vegan monthly subscription box with four (occasionally five) products. The subscription is $18 USD a month in the US, $23 USD for Canada, and $25 USD for the rest of the world. With the exchange rate @1.3804 my box cost me $31.75 CAD this month.

Let’s take a closer look:

Petit Vour March 2020

MO MI Beauty Styling Jelly (travel size 30ml $22 USD, full size 100ml $38 USD)

This innovative jelly stays flexible and maintains movement, allowing easy styling and a no-frizz finish. Every hair type can achieve different textures using the jelly, which blends organic hydrating olive oil and clarifying apple cider vinegar with floral and gem-essences for inner and outer balance.

Petit Vour March 2020

This sounds interesting, especially the no-frizz finish.

Alima Pure Natural Definition Eye Pencil (0.04oz / 1.14g $18 USD)

A long lasting, highly pigmented natural eyeliner pencil. Natural Definition Eye Pencil is filled with soothing natural oils, waxes, and Chamomile extract to protect the delicate eye area. This eyeliner glides on smoothly, blends beautifully, and lasts all day.

Petit Vour March 2020

Sigh. Another  eye liner. I have so many liners in my stash! Hopefully it is a good one. Thankfully it is in the shade Coffee (rich cocoa brown) and not Ink (carbon black) as I have SO MANY BLACK EYELINERS in my stash!

Inkling Scents Roll-On Perfume in Sultry (sample size 5ml $15 USD, full size 10ml $25 USD)

Wearing this smooth fragrance is the art of seduction. The base is creamy sandalwood and white amber, the heart is lotus flower, orchid and Bulgarian rose, while the top is silky vanilla. The blend is provocative, but clean. This mix is deep and rich enough to leave you with a sense of pleasure.

Petit Vour March 2020

Oooh, this sounds like a scent that I will love!

Pacifica Coconut Water Micellar Cleansing Tonic ( sample size 2 oz $5USD, full size 8oz / 236ml $12 USD)

We make it easy to be good with this simple step in cleansing that requires no water and no rinsing. Fortified coconut, calendula and grapefruit waters, this powerful tonic helps capture and lift away dirt, oil and impurities without harsh rubbing or over-drying. For all skin types

Petit Vour March 2020

Hopefully this will be a nice micellar water. I don’t like the ones that are soapy or leave a filmy feeling on the skin.

The March box is valued at $60 USD, which works out to be $82.82 CAD! I’m most excited by the Mo Mi Beauty Styling Jelly and the Inkling Scents Sultry Perfume!

Hello, hello!

Today I have a review of the Classic Shampoo & Conditioner from Rahua that came in my February Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Rahua Classic1

The Classic Shampoo:

Formulated with rare, sustainably sourced ingredients, this rich, restorative shampoo leaves hair soft, silky, and luminous, and scalp soothed. Made with omega-9 rich Rahua oil and naturally scented with the fresh, woodsy aroma of Palo Santo oil, this cult-favorite formula is concentrated and will keep scalp in balance—not too oily, and not too dry.

    and promote hair growth
  • Proprietary blend of natural oils moisturizes,
    strengthens and adds shine

  • Heals and maintains the scalp

Rahua Classic Shampoo & Conditioner

This is a really nice shampoo, I love the woody scent. It doesn’t lather super well – but thats to be expected with a lot of sulfate free shampoos. It is hydrating but not heavy, and makes my hair feel clean and soft.

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Water, Herbal Infusion of Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (Green tea) Leaf Extract*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract*, and Robus Ideous (Raspberry) Leaf Extract*, Coco Betaine, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride (Sea salt), Saccharum Officinarum (Molasses) Extract, Glycine, Oenocarpus Bataua (Rahua Ungurahua) Oil, Bursera Graveolens (Palo Santo) Oil, Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Panthenol, Potassium Sorbate (plant derived), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Citric Acid. *Organic.

The Classic Conditioner:

An enriching and luxurious complement to the Rahua® Classic Shampoo, this award-winning Conditioner delivers lustrous, rich and ultra-hydrated hair. Omega-9-rich Rahua oil acts as a detangler and exotic extracts maintain strong hair and a healthy scalp. Can also be used as a lightweight styling cream to smooth, tame frizz and flyaways, and add hold.

Rahua Classic Shampoo & Conditioner

I really like how this conditioner makes my hair feel. It really does work as a detangler, I can comb out my hair so much easier after washing and conditioning my hair.

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Water, Herbal Infusion of Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract*, Camellia Sinensis (Green tea) Leaf Extract*, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract*, and Robus Ideous (Raspberry) Leaf Extract*, Behentrimonium Methosulfate (Colza Oil), Oenocarpus Bataua (Rahua Ungurahua) Oil, Glyceryl Stearate, Canola Oil, Glycerin, Stearalkonium Chloride (plant derived), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Saccharum Officinarum (Molasses) Extract, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Bursera Graveolens (Palo Santo) Oil, Potassium Sorbate (plant derived), Hydrolyzed Quinoa, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Panthenol. *Organic

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream Review

Hello, hello!

Today I’m reviewing the 09 Deodorant Cream from Speak. It came in my February Petit Vour box. [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream

A gentle, yet effective natural deodorant with a creamy texture that glides on to give you satin-soft protection. An aluminium and baking soda-free formulation that’s great for sensitive skin. Features arrowroot powder, kaolin clay and magnesium as odor neutralizers and excess sweat moppers. A combination of butters and oils keeps the delicate underarm area soft and healthy. Lightly scented with lavender essential oil to keep you smelling fresh.

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream

If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you’ll know that I’ve made the switch to natural deodorant a few years ago, and have had various degrees of success using natural deodorants. Some work amazingly well, some are just ok, and some are not a good match for my body chemistry.

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream

I’ve had better luck using deodorants with baking soda in them as they tend to last longer for me, but because I have sensitive skin, I sometimes react to the baking soda. To reduce the chances of a reaction occurring, I tend to use a baking soda free deodorant on days that I’m working from home to give my skin a break.

Speak 09 Deodorant Cream

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this natural deodorant works really well and it holds up all day! And it keeps my underarms a lot drier than most baking soda free formulas. My only complaint is that it doesn’t smell like lavender to me at all! It doesn’t really smell like anything.

Update March 19th – The Mister has started trying this deodorant out and he said that it works amazing for him even though he finds the cream application to be weird! He has a job where he is moving about (and sweating a lot) and so far, he has not been smelly when he gets home from work!

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Maranta Arundinacea (Arrowroot) Root Powder, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Magnesium Hydroxide, Kaolin, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil

Do you use natural deodorants?

KVoss Lip Treatment Papaya

The perfect mix of a lip balm and a lip gloss, this one-of-a-kind lip treatment contains a luxurious and intensely reparative formula that works on contact to soften roughness, relieve discomfort and help rejuvenate seriously dry lips.

KVoss Lip Treatment Papaya

KVoss Lip Treatment Papaya

The Lip Treatment in available in two shades: Fig Macaroon and Papaya – I received Papaya. It smells very fruity – like real fruit and not synthetic. It is super moisturizing and fairly long wearing. The slight tint is very pretty as well, and it has a nice sheen on the lips.

KVoss Lip Treatment Papaya

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Glycine Soja Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glyceryl Behenate/Eicosadioate, Candelilla (Euphorbia Cerifera) Wax, Sorbic Acid.  [+/- My Contain (Peut Contenir) Red 7 Lake (Ci15850), Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Cl 77491, Ci 77492, Ci77499)]

Fitglow Beauty Good Lash + Mascara

Fitglow Beauty Good Lash + Mascara

Hello, hello! Welcome to A BRASH ATTITUDE!

Today I’m reviewing the Fitglow Beauty Goodlash + Mascara that came in my January Petit Vour box [info in italics taken from the Petit Vour website]

Fitglow Beauty Good Lash + Mascara

3-in-1 vegan mascara, amplifies lash volume and length while nourishing lashes with powerful botanical extracts and plant protein to promote lash health and growth. The multitasking mascara/serum/conditioner enhances the look of lashes on a day-to-day basis plus provides potent vitamins and antioxidants to help lashes grow thicker, denser and fuller. Frail and brittle lashes are strengthened and protected by organic emulsion which prevents breakage and leaves lashes looking rich and full.

Fitglow Beauty Good Lash + Mascara

Ingredients 100% Cruelty-Free and Vegan | Aqua, Iron Oxide (CI 77499), *Euphorbia Cerifera (Candellila) Wax, *Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba Wax), *Oryza Sativa (Rice) Bran Wax, Vegetable Collagen, *Myrica Pubescens Fruit Wax, Stearic Acid (Cocoa Source), *Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail Plant) Extract, *Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Propanediol / Pentylene Glycol / Phenethyl Alcohol (Non GMO Sugar Source), Hydrolyzed (Lupine) Plant Protein. | *Certified Organic

I am so picky about mascara. I have long, super stick-straight lashes. They are quite light in colour considering my natural hair colour is dark brown. Because my lashes are straight, I always use a lash curler before applying mascara. My eyes are sensitive, and water easily so any mascara that I use must be smudge proof, and water-resistant (ideally waterproof).

Fitglow Beauty Good Lash + Mascara

I have seven requirements for a mascara, and I’ll comment on each requirement and score each point. So how did the Fitglow Beauty Good Lash + Mascara measure up?

1. waterproof / water resistant +0 This is not a water-proof or water-resistant mascara. And I have eyes that water very easily.

2. smudge-proof +1/2 This mascara was not smudgeproof on me. It was not horror movie level smudging, but definite darkness under the eyes by the end of the day.

3. non-flaking / non-clumping +1 No flaking or clumping!

4. must be DARK black (not blackish, not brown black, and definitely not grey black) +1 Very dark black!

5. volumizing +3/4 It gave my lashes some volume, but not as much as I was hoping for

6. must hold a curl +3/4 It held a curl pretty well, for most of the day.

7. non-irritating to my sensitive eyes +1 My lashes felt soft after using this mascara and my eyes were not at all irritated.

Fitglow Beauty Good Lash + Mascara

The wand is a nice conical shape, great for the inner and outer lash corners. Overall, I would score this mascara a 5 out of 7. It is a really nice mascara, just not a mascara for me due to my watery eyes. If you don’t have watery eyes, this might be an awesome mascara for you. I will continue to use it on days that I’m working from home to get the lash conditioning benefits. If they ever make a waterproof version, I would definitely want to try it!

Have you tried this mascara, did you like it?
