Monthly Empties March 2019 – Part 2

March Empties - Skincare

Hello, hello!

Today I have the second part of my Monthly Empties – all my skincare finishes. Part one was all of my bath and haircare empties. And I will comment on if I will be purchasing or not, and link to my original reviews.

Let’s take a look:

March Empties - Skincare

Indie Lee Brightening Cleanser Sample – I got this as a free sample in my last well.ca order. The sample was too small for a full review, but I liked it enough that I want to buy the full size to really test it out.

Nova Scotia Fisherman Sea Kelp Lip Balms x2 – I finished one and the Mister finished the other. Great lip balm for winter. I have a ton of lip balms in my stash, so I have no plans on repurchasing for awhile. Review is here.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Sun Shield Unscented SPF 28, and Sun Shield Clear Stick SPF 50  *These were PR Samples* I loved these sunscreens, and thankfully they both were nearly finished when I discovered that they were past their expiration dates. I have other sunscreen to use up, so no plans to purchase replacements at this time, but I would highly recommend their sunscreens, as they’re non-greasy and worked well for my sensitive skin. Reviews are here and here.

March Empties - Skincare

Bite Beauty Lip Balm – Another great lip balm, although I prefer their Lip Mask. Again, no plans to repurchase right now, I have a stash of lip balms to use up. Review is here.

Metta Comforting Hand Balm – This was a lifesaver for the winter months! It came in my Petit Vour subscription, and I’m sad that I finished it already. This is going on my wishlist for the fall since I don’t need a heavy duty hand cream in the warmer months. Review is here.

Aromatherapy Associates Hydrating Revitalizing Face Oil – Another Petit Vour subscription sample. This was a nice facial oil – hydrating but not heavy or greasy. I’ve no plans to purchase, as I have several facial oils in my stash to use up. Review is here.

March Empties - Skincare

Poetic Blend The Warrior Serum – I won this in an InstaGram giveaway. This serum is one of the best facial serums that I’ve ever used! My skin LOVED it. I’m hoping to buy a replacement soon. Review is here.

Little Barn Apothecary Aloe + Rosewater Balancing Mist – Another one from my Petit Vour subscription. I love facial mists, especially rose based ones. I have two more in my stash to use up, so no plans to buy a full size right now. Review is here.

So there you have it, I’m pretty happy to have finished up more things from my stash.

Thanks for reading

abrashattitude.com have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: All products disclosed. My opinion is based on my experience with the products whether I’ve purchased them myself, won them in a Giveaway, or been gifted PR review samples.

December 2017 Empties

Hello, hello, happy new year!

I didn’t finish up as many products as I had hoped this month, but some progress is better than none at all!

Today marks my 500th blog post!

Dec 2017 Empties

Joik Gloss and Care Lip Oil (Huuleõli) – I bought this in Estonia in August, and I am sad that I’ve already finished it! I’m kicking myself for not buying several of these lip oils for my stash! The original review is here.

The Ordinary Buffet Serum – This is my second bottle of this serum, it works well for my sensitive skin. I’ll be re-purchasing a new one soon. The original review is here.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA – This is a great day or night moisturizer, lightweight yet hydrating and non-greasy. And it plays nicely with my foundation. I’ll re-purchase when I place my next order from The Ordinary. Original review is here.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Apple Brightening Cream *PR Sample* – I used this one as a night cream, great for winter weather. I have a few night creams to use up, so I don’t need to repurchase a night cream at this time. Original review is here.

Dec 2017 Empties

Were you able to finish up very many products this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: All PR samples identified. All opinions my own whether I purchased a product or not.

November 2017 Empties

Hello, hello!

I’m slowly working my way through my stash and using up various bits and pieces. I didn’t finish up as many products as I had hoped, but progress is progress.

Nov 2017 Empties

Lets take a closer look at what I finished, and whether or not I would re-purchase.

Make-up:

Nov 2017 Empties

Eyeko Black Magic Mascara – This came in an Ipsy GlamBag, originally reviewed here. I had mixed feelings about this mascara when I first got it because despite it being fairly smudge proof, it didn’t hold a curl very well for me. This is not the mascara for me.

Beaute Basics Travel Face Blender – Another Ipsy GlamBag item, reviewed here. This sponge is too hard. I had hoped that I could make this little blending sponge work but I’ve tried washing it a million times and it just never softened up. Way too hard for facial use, not for me.

Bath and Body:

Nov 2017 Empties

Joik Luxurious Rose Bathmilk – I bought this in August when we were visiting Estonia, the original review is here. I’m sad that this one is finished, as I absolutely loved this bath milk – it is skin softening and gloriously rose scented! I would re-purchase this one again – but until I clear out more of my stash, it will go on my wishlist.

Skincare:

Nov 2017 Empties

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Incredible Pumpkin Peel* – Another one that I’m sad to have finished, review is here. This was a great pumpkin based facial mask / peel. If you like pumpkin, then this one is for you. If you have sensitive skin like me, it will probably tingle when you apply it (always do a patch test to make sure it is a pleasant tingle and not a melt your face off tingle). I’m currently using another pumpkin based facial mask, so I don’t need to re-purchase this right away, but again, it is on my wishlist.

Consonant DHE Mask – This was a gift from Stashy, and it just might be the best clay based mask that I’ve ever used, original review is here. It detoxifies, hydrates and exfoliates. I’ll be purchasing this facial mask very soon since I can’t imagine life without it!

Nov 2017 Empties

Cougar Beauty Snake Superfood Booster Serum* – Original review is here. I never did do a long term check in review of this serum after using it for 8 weeks, but I think that this works similar to the way that a lip plumper works – giving a temporary topical effect on the skin. I have other products in my stash that seem to have a longer lasting effect on fine lines so I won’t be purchasing a replacement.

Hylamide High-Efficiency Face Cleaner – This super gentle cleanser is somewhere between a oil cleanser and a micellar water, originally reviewed here. It is great at removing makeup, and even put a good dent in my super waterproof mascara! I plan buy this one again once I use up another cleanser in my stash.

Have you finished up many products this month?

Disclosure: Products marked with an * are PR samples. The rest have either been purchased by me, or gifted from a friend. My opinion is my own, as always!

August 2017 Empties

Hello, hello! Happy September!

August 2017 Empties

Today I have my empties for the month of August. Once again I did not finish up as many things as I had hoped – sometimes a cleanser will last way longer than anticipated! Being away for two weeks in August also meant that I was using far less from my stash.

Skincare:

August 2017 Empties

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Remakable Retinal Serum* (originally reviewed here). This is a great retinol serum, it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I’m currently using the Advanced Retinoid 2% from The Ordinary which also agrees with my sensitive skin so I won’t be re-purchasing this one right now, but it will be added to my wish list.

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Deep Dive Cleansing Gel (Ipsy unbagging here). This is such a small sample, so I can really only give a first impression of this cleanser – it was ok. Not amazing, not terrible. I wouldn’t purchase the full size because it didn’t wow me.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B6 (originally reviewed here). This is a great and super affordable hyaluronic acid serum. I’m currently testing out the Moisturizing Factors + Hyaluronic Acid from The Ordinary now that the weather is starting to cool down, so I haven’t repurchased this one yet.

Makeup Clearout:

August 2017 Empties

Technically none of the mascaras are empties, but I try to replace my mascaras every three months, sometimes longer if I don’t use it that often.

Soap & Glory Thick & Fast Mascara# (originally reviewed here). I won this in a giveaway from Rachael (Helpless Whilst Drying). Despite my preference for waterproof mascara, this one worked pretty well for me, it just did not want to hold a curl for more than four hours for my stubborn, stick straight lashes.

Annabelle Big Show Waterproof Mascara (originally reviewed here). I think that this is my second (or third) tube of this mascara. This tube wasn’t as good as the one that I had originally reviewed. It did not seem to be as volumizing as the first one. I still think that my fave mascara is from Essence (I ❤ Extreme Volume Waterproof) which I just replaced.

Bellapierre VolumeLash Waterproof Mascara (Ipsy unboxing here). This mascara is not the one for me. It is waterproof and a deep, dark, black shade, but I found that it tended to flake a little and irritate my eyes when I used it again recently. It made my lashes look super long, but did not add volume. I won’t be replacing this one.

Milani Color StatementLipstick in 40 Cabaret Blend (originally reviewed here). This one has started to go off. Because it has a fairly strong fruit punch scent, it doesn’t smell fully rancid, just slightly off. I rarely use this one, and have some similar shades in my collection so I won’t be replacing this one.

What did you finish up this month? I have a few cleansers, scrubs  and facial masks that are just taking FOREVER to finish. Hopefully they will be finished by the end of September.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day!

Disclosure: Products marked with * are PR Samples, products marked with # are giveaway wins, and all the rest were purchased by me. All opinions are my own based my my experience of using the product.

Weekly Recap July 3rd to 9th

Hello, hello!

Just a little recap of the past week’s blog posts in case you’ve missed out on anything…

Monday July 3rd – June 2017 Empties

Thursday July 6th – Taming My Hair with the Conair Straightening Brush

This coming week I’ll be posting on Monday and Thursday, I’ll be continuing with this posting schedule for the rest of the month.

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

June 2017 Empties

Hello, hello!

I’m still working my way through my stash. This month I finished up a few things…

June 2017 Empties

Three of the products are not cruelty free – The Marc Anthony Grow Long Caffeine Ginseng Shampoo and Conditioner, and the Deep Repair Aloe Vera Conditioning Treatment (Ipsy Glam Bag). I had purchased the shampoo and conditioner at the same time as the dry shampoo, thinking that Marc Anthony products were cruelty free – because they were at one point. See the below photo:

The photo on the left is from the shampoo, the photo on the right is from an older Marc Anthony hair product – see the difference – it used to say no animal testing and they don’t anymore.

Anyways, because I did not realize my mistake until two weeks after purchasing, I used the shampoo and conditioner up rather than throw them out. I won’t be repurchasing because they are no longer cruelty free.

June 2017 Empties

Sunday Riley C.E.O. Moisturizer, reviewed here. This was just ok for me as it was too highly scented for my liking. I won’t be purchasing the full size.

Tarte Maracuja Oil, reviewed here. I like this facial oil, but I won’t be purchasing right now as I have a few facial oils in my stash currently.

Derma MD Enzyme Cleanser*, reviewed here. I liked this facial cleanser, but again, I have several cleansers in my stash to use up.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Perfect C Serum 17%*, reviewed here. I really liked this C serum, but I loved the 25% one. I want to try a C serum from The Ordinary, before deciding whether or not to purchase MyChelle Dermaceuticals Perfect C Serum 25%.

Haus of Gloi Pumpkin Butter in Haus Amber – The Pumpkin Butters form Haus of Gloi are my absolute fave body butters. I have a few more in my stash to use up.

Nuworld Botanicals Multi-Nutritive 3-in-1 Oil for Bath, Body & Hair in Anxiety Relief*, reviewed here. I love these multi-purpose oils. I mostly used this one in the bath. I have a few more bath and body oils to use up, but this is on my wishlist.

Have you finished up much this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

June 2017 Faves

Hello, hello!

Can you believe that June is nearly over? Today I have my faves for the month of June. I tried to keep it within five products or less per product category:

Fave Hair & Body Products:

June Faves - Wildcraft, Mychelle, Briogeo

Wildcraft Buff Face and Body Scrub, originally reviewed here – I absolutely love this scrub for the body. I still think that it would be way to harsh for my sensitive face.

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Replenishing Solar Defence SPF 30*, originally reviewed here – this is such a great sunscreen, I can wear it on my face or my body. And it plays nicely with makeup.

Briogeo Curl Charisma, originally reviewed here, humidity makes my hair an unruly mess, and this helps tame the frizz without making it feel heavy or crunchy.

Not pictured – Schmidt’s Naturals Deodorant Sensitive Skin Formula in Lavender Tips, originally reviewed here, a great natural deodorant for my sensitive underarms! The first baking soda free deodorant that works well for me.

Fave Skincare Products:

June Faves - The Ordinary, Herbivore

The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%, reviewed here – I’m loving this one at night. My skin looks so good when I wake up in the morning!

Herbivore Blue Tansy Resurfacing Clarity Mask, reviewed here – I only use this once a week, but it I think that it really helps with skin texture. I’ll definitely be buying a full size of this one!

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG, reviewed here – this works so great at de-puffing my poor allergy plagued under eye area! I use this one in the morning only.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, reviewed here – my skin LOVES hyaluronic acid. It just plumps and hydrates the skin so well without making it feel oily or heavy. I use this one morning and night.

The Ordinary “Buffet” Multi-Technology Peptide Serum, reviewed here – another serum that makes my skin look and feel great! I use this one morning and night.

Fave Make-Up:

June Faves - Bite. The Ordinary, ColourPop

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Pepper, reviewed here – I’ve been wearing this lipstick so much since getting it in April! It is such a perfect MLBB shade.

The Ordinary High Spreadability Fluid Primer, reviewed here – this is the first primer that I’ve tried and really liked.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation in  1.2P, reviewed here – this is a nice light foundation. these days I mostly only wear foundation when I have client meetings, and this is the one that I’ve reached for each time!

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Rhubarb, reviewed here – this is such a wearable shade. I’ve been wearing this one a lot this month as well.

ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip in Dopey, reviewed here – I’ve been wearing this one non-stop over the past week. I’d actually forgotten that I owned this one!

So there you have it, all of my faves for the month of June! What were your fave products this month?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

May 2017 Empties

Hello, hello!

I’m still working my way through my stash of all things skin, body and haircare. And I’m still mostly only purchasing things as I use them up.

Let’s take a look at what I managed to finish this month:

Empties May 2017

SKINCARE:

Empties May 2017

MyChelle Dermaceuticals Refining Sugar Cleanser  (PR sample) – original review is here. I absolutely loved this gentle scrub! I have this on my wishlist to replace once I use up a few more things in my stash.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads – original review is here. I think I’m going to buy the full size of this one.

Tarte Brighter Days Moisturizer – original review is here. This was just ok. I won’t be buying the full size of this one.

BODY AND HAIRCARE:

May17 Empties3

Ingenium Naturals CuraTif Body Salve (PR sample) – original review here. This is so good when my skin is dry. I loved this one! I still have a bunch of body lotions / creams to use up, so for now this is going on my wishlist.

Marc Anthony Clear Dry Shampoo – I bought this and used it for two weeks before I realized that it might not be cruelty free. I have some older hair goop from Marc Anthony that says that they don’t test on animals, but newer products no longer have that on the label. I won’t be re-purchasing. The CoLab dry shampoos are my fave so far.

MAKEUP:

Empties May 2017

Tokyo Milk Dark Lip Elixir – I won this in a giveaway back in 2015. I loved this lip balm, but I have so many to use up!

Nyx HD Concealer – original review here. I love this concealer and I’ve already re-purchased it, this time in the shade light (I had porcelain in the winter).

Have you tried any of these products?

Thanks for reading and have a beautiful day! ❤

Disclosure: All purchased by me except for products identified as PR samples.
